Cant wait for 2021! We did the haunted hay drive - it was a blast! It may have been a bit of a wait to drive through, but good friends and good conversation got us through that. The attraction itself was great! The actors were so much fun and interactive. Would recommend this attraction to everyone!

***Long Review But Worth Reading If You Are Considering Going***We understand the changes that were made to accommodate COVID-19 guidelines, but this was a HUGE disappointment. We drove over an hour and a half after reading the positive reviews and the time we reserved was 10:15 PM. We waited....and we waited....and we waited for over an hour before we actually got to the beginning of the attraction. We took a picture at the beginning with a timestamp of 11:17 PM and we were out by 11:28 PM. It was eleven minutes....and it was not even “scary” in the slightest. The tickets were over $20 PER PERSON. It should have been priced per vehicle, and it then would still not be worth the money. We wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We did the drive through scary experience and it was a massive failure. 4 people in the car, after tax it came out to about $20/person, and all we really saw was the rear end of an Escalade. Nothing seemed scary in the slightest, the effort seemed mediocre at best, in all honesty I felt like I got swindled at the end of it. I came in with lower expectations and an open mind because this is the first I’ve heard of this, but this still somehow extremely disappointed me. Do not recommend, save your money.Update: Still haven’t heard from you guys! Looking forward to you reaching out.

Very tedious process.. AND one of the team members who was a monster kept hitting the car my boyfriend is a car fanatic so he was not happy. Monsters Please don’t touch our cars!!!! Even though The Abandoned Hayride is The Abandoned Drive Thru this year, the actors, sets, and technological aspects were top notch and were a wonderful balance of terrifying and fun- I never wanted it to end! Based on The Abandoned Drive-Thrus performance last night, I will definitely be trying my best to come out some time to visit the neighboring Screamtown and I will for sure be recommending the drive-thru event to all of my friends. FANTASTIC work this season to all involved! I really cannot wait to come back next fall to have the actual Abandoned Hayride experience (and receiving a ticket to come back next season for the full experience was super generous of them to do and a very nice surprise!).

Absolutely a great experience and well worth the money!! If you like checking out haunts you HAVE TO GO!Honestly the Hayride was our groups least favorite part of the 4 attractions that are included. That being said, the Hayride is fun and the sets are mostly amazing. It has the potential to be fantastic. Maybe because it’s new some of the kinks are being worked out but there wasn’t much scare on the actual Hayride. However, I LOVED the transition into the second attraction. It was fun albeit short. The last 2 parts were hands down the best!!! They actually space you out!!!!! Our group was so ecstatic! We don’t mind waiting in line a while so that we can have a better spooky experience walking alone and not running into other groups! Please do not change this aspect! The woods were creepy AF! It actually felt at moments that we were just lost in the woods next to a Haunt attraction and it was awesome, especially after they took our light!!!! We all agreed Delirium was the BEST part of the whole thing. I was actually scared! I really appreciate the hard work they put into this. The actors and the sets were very good! The creepy paintings on the wall in Delirium were frightening!I haven’t been to Scream Town in a few years but if they have elevated it to the level of Abandoned Hayride then I am absolutely gonna go back and check out all of the Scream Town attractions now!!! Great job! I’m thoroughly impressed!! I had more fun here than at Dead End this year!

The hayride was amazing. It was creative, fun, scary, unique, good, and well worth your drive. I have been going to dead end hay ride for years and this was better than that. It was very evident Matt worked hard to make this a memorable time as well as make sure his staff gave you a scary experience. When you meet Matt he always asks if you enjoyed your visit makes sure you had a good time. It is right next to scream town so you can do both. You will have an amazing night. Well worth five stars. Have never been to a haunted attraction before, so didn’t know what to expect and how I would react.I think the hayride itself was super unique and a really great setup to the rest. Great actors! The maze didn’t have much in terms of scares, but being pitch black and tight corners definitely got the adrenaline pumping.Unintentionally went during the black out night, so no lanterns for the Foresaken section. Don’t know if that was what made it tricky, or just the lack of trail markers, but definitely want to watch your step on this one. The roots and branches snapping back as you walk caught me by surprise more than the scares. Minus the slightly treacherous path, perfect setting for this and again, great actors. Definitely my favorite of the attractions.Delirium was a solid end to the event in the form of a more traditional haunted house walk through. Nice lighting and jump scares. Had also been a little nervous about the touching aspect of the attractions, but the actors used it perfectly. Just enough to make your skin crawl without being too rough or in your face.Overall was it terrifying? No. But definitely a unique and well thought out experience. Had to be dragged to come but would definitely consider it again next year, especially if they keep improving and updating it

One of the best if not the best haunted attraction in MN. Speaking as a “scare-actor” for 7 years (not affiliated with this attraction), and 30 years a Halloween/haunt fan who tries to attend 6-8 haunts a year. Before 2019 I pretty consistently rated The Dead End hayride as the best haunt in MN, but The Abandoned Hayride beat them out this year! Other Haunts have tried the “theatrical” approach and failed (quite miserably I might add) but not this one! In addition to the one of a kind (that I’ve experienced) hayride the attraction includes an outdoor trail walk as well as indoor parts, so you get a taste of everything. There is no other haunt that compares to the value you get here either. No spoilers here, just take my word for it and GO SEE THIS HAUNT!

It was entertaining... kind of. The event staff had no idea about how the tickets worked and were overly drunk - one admitted to me he was being paid in alcohol. Hayride was short and boring. Extremely predictable. The haunted houses were difficult to navigate. Jump scares were easy to prepare for because my group caught on quickly to the notifications the actors were sending to eachother as we passed them and you could see the white face paint in the darkness. I was told by the guy giving lanterns to get my period and go bleed to death in the woods... for asking if the lantern will turn off half way through - which it did. My group wasnt impressed with that comment. Touch attraction? I experienced more of being screamed at in the face than being touched. The mixture of fog machine and chainsaw exhaust was nauseating. Didnt scream once.

My gf and I attended the abandoned hayride on Saturday, October 5th. When we got there, we weren’t told we have to scan our tickets in and had to rush to get them scanned as we were boarding on. The hayride itself was really unique (won’t spoil anything)! It was worth every penny. At the end of the hayride, we were the first off and went through a pitch black house which was spooky, but really creative. I’ve never done something like that. The 3rd part was the walk in the woods with only one lantern. We enjoyed this part but got lost near the end; however, there was this friendly staff member who guided us to the right direction. The last attraction was delirious and was fun to walk through it. Overall besides the issue at the beginning and getting lost because the trails in the woods weren’t marked as well, this was a scary, fun, and a great attraction to come to! I will definitely recommend others to come and check it out.

The employees were great and I thought everyone did a great job. The only thing I found completely unsafe was when I first got off the hayride and stepped into the maze like attraction. It was obviously dark, there was fog and I anticipated all of those things... but what I didnt expect was to find myself in tight corner with a dead end, starngers pushing me into a wall for almost 3 minutes. I was actually pretty concerned for my safety at one point. The rest was fun but I feel like more guidance would be helpful. I might try again next year

I’m not one to post reviews but somethings needs to be said about my night at the Abandoned Hayride last night.I’ll start with the hayride itself; You’re crowded into a cart. Nobody has room to move around, many people complained about not being able to see from the back, which is where we sat. Someone in the back even decided to stand so they could see. They also played the music so loud in the cart that you couldn’t hear any instructions when everyone was loaded. Everyone was so confused, we were screaming at the man telling directions we couldn’t hear because of the music but the music was so loud he couldn’t hear us!The ride itself was fine. But the actors were aggressive in the dark and found it hard to get through the cart. My husband hit is head very hard and had a bump and a headache for the rest of the night. We were so crammed, we made friends with the couple next to us and decided to stay close. We got through the maze alright, we were one of the last groups through and kept running into the boards. I even got whiplash from running into them so hard. I was not expecting that. After the maze, we stood in mud and lines for about 20 minutes waiting for a lamp. The next hayride even made it through and into the line by the time we got a light. The walk was dreadful. Only a couple scary things, a husband with a bump on his head and a confused party. The mud was insane. Thankfully we dressed for it.My BIGGEST complaint is how aggressive some of the characters were. They almost seemed to enjoy bullying people. There is a dangerous part of the house where you have lift your legs up to walk through these ovals. An employee got aggressive with me and I ended up falling over that part and now have bruises all over my right leg.We realized how aggressive the employees were and our friends got so scared he got into trouble when he put his hand up to his face. The employee then YELLED at him for putting his hand up, exchanged bad language and then he followed us for the rest of the night screaming security when we did absolutely nothing wrong and had no indication of wanting to harm any employees in any way.At the end of the attraction a woman working there asked me what I thought of the experience and I honestly did not know what to tell her because I was still so shocked at how we were treated and how the night went. I love the trail of terror and have never had a bad experience. I also hear good things about the owners of this place so I’m sure last night was not how it was supposed to go.Never in my life have I felt this way while going through an attraction. The worst was when the employee followed us to the exit still screaming security. He really made our night horrible as we did absolutely nothing wrong. I was really upset with them and hope they can learn from this year because they have something good if they can put the fine tuning on it!

Giving this attraction a 2. Not reflecting on previous experience at screamtown just the hayride. I understand that this is a new attraction, however my group had some issues last night with a couple of actors. They did something they shouldnt have and all that the owner could do was give them free admission for next time almost was like he didnt want the issue even resolved. Warning - LONG REVIEW (No Real Spoilers) - Opening NightUnlike the majority of the reviews below, I am writing this from the point of someone who actually went to the Abandoned Hayride opening night and does not work for Scream Town itself.First off, yes - The Abandoned Hayride IS a part of Scream Town. However, the Abandoned Hayride is a separate ticket / fee and is NOT INCLUDED as part of the regular Scream Town admission. I dont recall if there was any type of discount for buying both as - originally - we just went to check out the new hayride (and had purchased tickets online for it ahead of time). The Abandoned Hayride consists of four parts: 1. The Hayride, 2. Forsaken, 3. Exiled, and 4. Delirium. Ill give a breakdown of those below.1. The Hayride. They hayride potion of this attraction was AWESOME. Between the different attractions within Scream Town itself and the Abandoned Hayride - the Hayride portion was by far THE BEST. Most haunted hayrides typically involve sitting on a bale of hay on a cart while a tractor pulls you through the woods. Along the way actors jump out and scream /yell or make some other predictable noises. At the Abandoned Hayride, you are loaded onto a cart which holds maybe 50-60 people sat stadium seating style - all facing the same direction. The cart moves along and stops in front of 5-6 different shows where actors will act out a scene which is maybe 5-7 minutes long. I wont spoil what each of the different shows were..but my hope is this part evolves and becomes longer or is changed up annually.2. Forsaken. I think this is what they called the part of the ticket where everyone had to get off of the hayride and walk into the last scene. This amounts to 50-60 confused people trying to weave their way through a pitch-black labyrinth crashing into the walls and each other. Some of the spaces are a bit tight so it may be somewhat claustrophobic for bigger folks.3. Exiled. Coming out of the Labyrinth, you find yourself in the woods and are broken up into groups of 2-3 and given a lantern. Like other Scream Town attractions, they try and spread you out so you dont see whats coming but - unfortunately - most groups were pretty close together. when we went through. Weaving around the woods with your lantern you see a few props and have a few people jump out at you and say something or other. When you reach the end of this part of the attraction, you turn in your lantern and then have to essentially walk all the way back to the backside of Scream Town in the dark. Nothing jumps out at you and it seems more of a walking hazard than anything else. Someone by us slipped and almost ended up in - what looked like - a small pond/creek.4. Delirium. Once you finish your trek from the end of Exiled and get back to the main grounds, you arrive at another haunted house type attraction similar to those in Scream Town. This one seemed a lot shorter and wasnt as good as the ones within Scream Town.As another reviewer had mentioned, they did have some delays last night as it was opening night and they wanted everything working right. The owner / person in charge more than made up for the minor inconvenience by giving everyone who was in line at the time admission to Scream Town AND the VIP pass to use while they were getting things straightened out. That was an awesome gesture on his part and well received by all. While my rating above shows a 3.. it really should be more of a 3.5 (which I cant do). In my opinion, I would say they could do away with parts 2,3, and even 4 - in lieu of adding on more scenes to the hayride itself.

1. The ticketing situation was a bit confusing as Scream Town is here as is multiple VIP offerings with different lines making for a difficult understanding of where to stand. Fortunately there are employees there to direct traffic, but there are still occasional misunderstandings.2. The hayride itself. The wagon has bleacher seating that all faces the same way which is for a good reason as this is more of a theater production than your standard experience. However, they put too many people per wagon leading to knees in backs and no legroom for everyone involved. It also makes it difficult on the actors when they cant walk amongst the people like they are suppose to as theres no room between anyone. The sound mixing was a bit off as sometimes the music was too loud to hear the actors. Other times the switching from live lines to prerecorded lip synching was quite noticeable. With that in mind, the settings were good and well done. Very creepy. Nicely portrayed by the actors.3. The maze that came next consisted of a long, narrow, pitch black hallway, that ended with an opening so small, I was forced to crawl upon my hands and knees to get out. I dont know about other people, buy I dont consider crawling in the dirt getting my pants muddy, a good time.4. The walk in the woods that came next was, an exercise in, uninspired waiting. I stood in the trees for about 10 minutes, so I could get a lantern, to walk a narrow, muddy path, down a hill. The walk was a treacherous one, as its quite literally, on a hill, with greasy mud. Not for the non sure footed. Not many scares here for the distance. Maybe 3 in total. Worse, about 2/3 through, they take your lantern, leaving you to try and navigate this mud trail, in the dark. It is quite slippery, and more than once I nearly turned an ankle.5. Finally, the haunted house at the end. Fair in total. Some good scares and surprises, nice design and actors that were into their respective roles. but again, more mud and some standing water. To be fair, most of these areas would be better without a week of rain preceding the event. In total, an average to above average experience. In my opinion, the ideas put forth on the hayride part are good, varied, and well thought out. There are improvements to be made in rider comfort though.I was not impressed with the maze, or trail walk sections. Not enough seen, heard, or done here. Could be better. The end/haunted house section, was better than the previous 2, but not as good as the hayride. Well intentioned, and excited, if not overly inspired.Overall, i feel a 3.5 is the right score. The Abandoned Hayride, starts out strong, loses its way for a bit, but finishes well. I hope, that they continue to work on this version. I feel it had a ton of potential. There are great ideas on display that make up for the lacking. My hope is that it does well, and improves in the coming years to reach its full potential, because if it does, it could be the greatest Haunted experience in Minnesota!

I hate to be that one that leaves a bad review :( A group of me and nine others, went last night to the Abandoned Hayride (suggested by me). We originally wanted to do Screamtown, but had four teens in the group who could barely afford the $20 dollars for the hayride. LOL. The price was great for the attraction, but it only took us 40 mins to go through all four haunts, and we were extremely disappointed. Half of the group has never been to a haunted attraction, so I thought this place was going to be great. I made sure to read the reviews and what to expect, and I was super excited. Actually, a lot of the reviews said it was better than Dead End, but those who have been to Dead End, disagreed strongly. The hayride was the highlight of the night. After the hayride part, we could not see a thing in the maze. After the maze, was the woods walk. Again, not scary. The last part was the haunted house, which was another disappointment. When all ten of us met up after, we realized it took us a whopping 42 mins to complete all four attractions. We were hoping for at least an hour and a half of entertainment. We were handed discount tickets for Screamtown for $20 bucks for that night, but all agreed that we should have just gotten tickets for that instead. :/
