Beautiful hike today, first time here and there is much to explore. Scenic vistas and woods. The north side of the park is closed due to covid, but you can still hike the trails there and park in the lot across the street. Enjoyed the dam trail and also the trails near the lake, although the lake trails are more challenging in places with roots and rocks.

Nice recreational lake. Great for kayaking or boating. The fishing can be ok. Excellent public boat launch.

Take the pup here once a week. Nice open area. Relatively clean all things considered. Nice disc golf course. You typically see people launching their boats, walking their dogs or playing Frisbee.

Theres a very cool pirate ship on the beach for kids to play in. Plenty of shady spots.

Great little local lake for paddling and fishing. Theres also an island that can be rented out for camping and a beach with lifeguards.

Nice, smaller lake with lots of parking. They did go up in price probably because they renovated the bathrooms.Gets a bit crowded and swim area is corded off for boats and other water crafts.Lots of cement tables and chairs with barbecue grill.

Amazing 8-mile hike (3-mile trail on one side and 5-mile trail on otherside) around the beautiful lake on the hiking trail that will leave you breathless.

Nice lake and great owners. Not expensive to get in, based on car not per person but you have to pay even riding a bicycle. Price went up slightly because they have renovated bathrooms and added more tables. Very calm and beautiful lake.

Lovely area. Very clean and well kept. We hiked some of the trails which were along the lake. The trails have lots of roots and are not completely level so if you have any difficulties walking you might want to stay up on the dam level.

If you have young kids, they will love this place. The swimming and the beach area are wondeful and there are ample areas to grill or host a party.

They do not respect people with severe disabilities. They refuse us reserving a handicapped spot. The insensitive ranger actually said to my cousin that he could not sit in his wheelchair in the spot to save it while a family member went for butter. Disgusting. After she left, I called the phone number attached to this site and I got her. Shes in charge. One hour later another car came down to the lake to unload. The man was hobbling around with a cane and his wife was rushing to get the car unloaded so that she could get out of there. Rather than assist them, this second ranger crossed his arms and chastised the couple for not having a drive down pass. I think some sensitivity training is desperately needed...and you cant call to complain because the boss is the most insensitive of all

Always a great place for families to get together. Be aware there is no lifeguard so parents watch your kids. They do provide lifejackets

Good trail but not very long

We love going here! Only $5 per car and the beach and swimming area is great. Grills, picnicking, volleyball. Great for a cheap party. The only thing I don’t care for is that they allow water floats which makes it hard for the little kids not to get knocked underwater.

Very nice clean park. The weather was perfect so made for a very enjoyable day.

Great little hidden gem in Oxford! Fun for swimming, boating, water skiing/tubing, fishing hiking... Great view and very scenic (especially during the fall). Seems to be well maintained by the U. S. Army engineer corps. and the states fish and game/wildlife. I always go fishing here, never crowded and people USUALLY clean up after themselves.

Parking for the day was reasonably priced. Clean bathrooms. Ship-shaped play hut with slide for young children.

Beautiful, clean lake. There are tables each with its own bbq grill. There are also hiking trails that go around the lake.

Great walking trails, dogs allowed, huge pine trees, picnic tables & charcoal grills. They charge admission in the summer months for the beach side but the boat launch side is free.

Great place to visit with the family on a nice summer day! Only $5 a car to get in. Cant beat that and the park and beach are very well kept. Much nicer than the surrounding lakes that charge upwards to $20/car and still dont keep up with the cleansliness as Buffumville does. A+

Great little lake. $5- entrance fee. Restrooms. Lots of shade. Fishing. Allows small flotation devices. No lifeguards, Army Corps of Engineers monitored. Grills available. No shack for food/drinks. One small structure for kids to play.

I love Buffumville lake and Im on it all the time on my stand-up paddleboard. I dont go to the beach area but the lake itself is very friendly to kayaks, canoes, and SUPs. Power boat traffic is almost always fishermen so theyre not kicking up a bunch of wake. Rangers come around often so make sure you have a life vest or belt on hand at all times.In the tri-state area it is by far my favorite lake because it caters to paddle craft so well. Hiking, picnicking, swimming, and disc golf are available for those who arent waterborne as well. Definitely check it out!...

Its very clean, lots of tables, grills. Cool pirate ship for the kids to play on, volleyball court, horseshoe pit and lots of trails to explore. You leave with the trash you bring in, no garbage cans, so plan accordingly.

Decent sized breach for the 5 dollar fee. The boat ramp was a little crowded but flowed well. The beach has a fun little pirate ship for kids and a volley ball net for adults. Lots of picnic tables and public grills. Keep an eye on your stuff though as i have had fishing gear stolen while i have been there in the past.

Beautiful and serene area. Not alot of wild life present, but was very early spring. Great to just walk leisurely or sit in peaceful solitude. Quiet...

Beautiful location, large enough to accommodate whatever you need. They have lots of tables and grills available for use, and give you a trash bag on your way in to help with the litter. Parking is $5. Will definitely go again for a quick weekend outing with the family.

There are great picnic areas with charcoal grills set up shaded by trees. A small sanded beach at swimming area. Bathrooms and whole park kept very clean.

This is my husband and my favorite place. We enjoy kayaking, picnicking, stringing up our hammock for a quiet read! Beautiful lake for a quick dip.

The beach is very clean, the play-ship-wreck for the kids is really cool and of course the volleyball area Is also excellent. This is a great place to take your family

Great place to take ur family for fun. U can grill out therenor enjoy the sun, water and sand. My first time there and i was impressed. There is an entry fee, but its worth it. We paid $5 each. I dont know if thats the norm or because by the bus load and we got a discount.

Small swimming area usually packed. If you want a grille on 4th of july or any hot saturday/sunday in the summer Id suggest getting there no later than 9:30. Very nice beach area with fun things for kids to do, away from any street noise.
