My husband and I ate here for the first time today. I took him out for birthday brunch. We were highly impressed! Not only did we feel safe and comfortable with the dining experience, but the food exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was fresh, and the flavors were incredible. Since moving to the area almost a year ago, we have tried quite a few different restaurants. This has been, by far, the best! The staff was very professional and accommodating as well. This will be a regular date night spot for us.

Super cool place! The atmosphere was a lot more chill than I anticipated and I really liked that. Service was good, food was quite good, and the arcade games/pinball machines were awesome. We also had the Mixed Berry dessert and it was delicious.

Amazing venue, phenomenal food with brilliant vegan options. Jacob looked after us really well. Wish we had this near us. Will Def be back if in town again.

My new go-to place. Great atmosphere and staff. Drink outside into the cold weather and buy one of their drinking blankets. So good.

We really enjoyed this place. Inside has an industrial feel, open concept. We were seated immediately. About a 15 minute walk from transit station. We ordered the chips and salsa as an appetizer. They were delicious but the plate was too small. Chips kept falling onto the table. (Forgot to take a picture). Cobb salad was amazing! I had it without the blue cheese and with ranch dressing. Ranch is a house herbed ranch. My mother loved the pretzel like brioche bun with her hamburger. Unfortunately, my son spilled his practically full drink (because the connecting tables are not level) while the server was there. It was cleaned up promptly but he was never brought or offered a refill. Its a four dollar drink btw.. insane. I also like that there is bathroom access on both sides of the restaurant.

Been a fan of this place ever since it opened! Its been through a few minor changes but the food and beer selections keep getting better! Service has always been great and that hasnt changed with covid. Its got a retro, fancy garage feel inside, (no oil or gas smells just the decor :-)). A good selection of video games. Its a perfect hang out spot on the porch as well. Have never had to wait to be seated... great Hidden Gem

The food was terrible. The chicken was dry,and old. The burger was over done and more like a slider,nothing like the menu promised. 3 items werent even available,which was cool if they were as bad as the chicken,but why not 86 the chicken too. Service was good,but we were the only customers. Games were fun. Dont go there to eat.

Was treated very disrespectfully by an impatient waitress. Dropped in for a routine milk pickup (the farm I use has drops here) and was spoken to like I was a second class citizen when kindly reminding said waitress that I was still waiting.She then proceeded to slam my jug of milk on the counter and said, “This is the kind of service you can expect when you come at this time.” then walked back down the bar.It was 6:15pm on a rainy Tuesday.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Firefly, and it was so much fun! The staff were very attentive to our guests and set everything up nicely. There were plenty of arcade games to keep our guests entertained, and the food was so delicious. Even with the drawback curtain, the space felt separate from the public sitting area. We opted to having a buffet-style dinner which suited the event perfectly. If you are wanting a lively, entertaining space to host your event, we would highly recommend Firefly!

Cute place with some older arcade games and lots if board games for families. They have a decent beer menu and food menu. I ordered the shrimp tacos that were too salty but otherwise ok, and everyone else in my group enjoyed their meal.

A Nice cool chill place to grab something to eat, where your tastebuds will not be offended by any of the choices you make on the menu. There are plenty of choices to accompany your food with drafts,ciders,mixed drinks. Make room for dessert, you deserve to treat yourself. If solo, no worries. Sit at the bar where the bartender(s) are friendly but not overwhelming If being in your own thoughts is the mood you’re in. Or get together with friends and grab a table & a cue stick to play billiards. In the end, you make every experience what you would like it to be. But, FIREFLY has set a good foundation to have a great time.

Great option for vegan food. We had a few friends visit us and they are vegans. They loved their options and care the wait staff put into making sure the meal was crafted for their dietary restrictions. I am allergic to peanuts and they were very careful with that as well. Great experience and we will be back again soon.

We missed this place when they closed for a bit during the COVID shutdown. Was so happy they are reopened. Such a great place for vegan/vegetarian/gf food! So many options from healthier to more decadent - think a veggie burger and salad or vegan totchos, among others. Fun drink options, as well. Highly recommend.

The brunch was really good today and my 2 nerdy teens loved the retro vibe of the place. They enjoyed the pinball machines and video games and we played a game of Uno. It was a good time, laid back fun. Well be back again!

I want to love Firefly, but theres always something not quite right! They get our orders wrong consistently, and while the food is good (and we LOVE that they have consistent vegan items), its never great, and I could do most things at home myself. That said, excellent craft brew selection, robust vegan options, friendly staff, and pinball make for a fun evening out.

Friendly staff, very casual atmosphere. First visit there and really enjoyed the food. The Firefly cheeseburger is on point and very filling. The drinks were perfect. Would recommend friends who live in the are or make the drive again for a special occasion. Only downside is the food is a tad expensive.

Our large family visited. It was a little pricey. Salad was tasty, other food ordered was ok. My kids did not like the Mac and cheese. The games were fun. Dont like the feel of the paper straws. Service was nice and friendly.

I really like the food. A good variety to choose from for carnivores and herbivores. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Just a note if you havent visited yet, there is parking available in the back. Its just not real obvious.

Rented the Firefly for a family reunion. The waitress and female bar tenders were the best. Some of our sliders were extremely pink and the chicken pasta had a odd flavor. Cheese sticks and shrimp were excellent. The reason for my bad review is the male bar tender was extremely rude and had a problem with us spending extra money at the bar. It was the first time in twenty years we all have been together and we had 50+ in our group who traveled many states to be together for this one night. The Firefly is a bar/arcade and agreed to our reunion. The bar tender was worried about the eight people that were at the bar and not part of our party. When you get this many people together they are going to be loud and trust me we were not loud. It’s a bar/arcade and usually bars are loud. The female bar tenders did not feel the same as the male bartender, again the other employees did an excellent job and made our reunion the Best!Thank you to these girls!

Great vegan options, fast and friendly service.

Personally and as an artist it was an awesome venue to display and share my art. For group events its perfect to have a casual gathering with delicious food and drinks. I have dietary limitations too. They always have something I can eat too. Their gluten free and vegan cobbler and ice cream is perfect for those of us who dont get those treats too often because of rare availability. Melissa is always a gracious hostess. Charlottesville is very lucky to have such a unique restaurant for locally sourced food and fun games to play too. Dont miss this one.

The food was great! They have delicious vegan and gluten free options. Relaxed atmosphere. Only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating is our waiter. While very friendly, he was a bit hard to communicate that we were ready for our check.Maybe the locals love hanging out in the atmosphere for quite awhile after their meal. Who knows!The arcade and pool table were cool. Great decor. Looks like maybe an old Auto service/garage turned into an industrial restaurant. Their theme seemed to be board games/video games, hence the arcade. Our check clipboard, when we finally got it, was a piece of an original Monopoly game board. Super cute and creative! Points thereThe staff was very friendly and welcomed us swiftly upon arrival and gave us a warm farewell on the way out.I will definitely consider returning!

The food and service was excellent. The free games to use was a plus. The only thing that made it 4 stars was the fact that they did not have plastic straws but the cardboard ones. 9/10

Excellent spot. Its one of those places that you dont want to recommend publicly because it wont be the same. But, you know what, they deserve it. Great beer and food, even better personality and service. Uniquely Charlottesville, in the best way possible.

Great food, lots of GF options, fun games, cool art!

My family and I visited over the summer as we were referred by a family friend who highly recommended this place. I was a little disappointed with the food - most everything was slightly overpriced with very little selection. My children’s meals were cold and the chicken was hard and disgusting - when I told the waiter about it he shrugged and said “okay sorry.” My biggest complaint was the flies!! There were flies everywhere - so much so that the table beside asked her waitress for a flyswatter and was given one! As soon as the patron starting killing flies with the flyswatter I had completely lost my appetite. I will say the service was fast and the atmosphere was groovy with plenty of on-site parking.

Most amazing vegan options. Everyone at the table got something different from the menu so we could try more. The food and service were fantastic. The atmosphere was awesome too. Will definitely go back.

Great place to meet and greet. You won’t be disappointed

My wife and I went there with our two youngest today. It would have been impossible for us to have a better experience. From the moment we went in until the moment we left, the staff were kind, considerate, and polite. The cocktails we had were expertly made, the wine was good, and the food was fantastic. This was our first time there, but it certainly will not be our last. What a wonderful place that these folks have made!

My partner took me here as a surprise. It was okay. If you like the type of atmosphere they provide, its cool. They have board games to play, which is cool. They seem very family-friendly, which is also cool. The music was a bit loud for my taste but whatevs, everyone is different on that score. The food was just okay. It didnt really speak to me and, like so many Charlottesville restaurants, doesnt really cater to black people. I guess what would make that so is that they could play more music that speaks to black people and have a few more food choices that goes along with their restaurant but still speaks to other palettes. Not really easy to talk about in a review but I definitely felt my blackness in that space. Thats usually a sign for me that it doesnt cater to black people. The host was really nice though. He seemed to really like talking to us so that was cool.

The best thing for be was the fireplace. It was a cold December night and it was so cozy. They also have a happy hour and games like pool, ski-do and pinball. The draft list is really good and the food is too! I especially liked the quinoa bowl and Korean wings.

This is my second time here and this is officially one of my favorites places in C-ville! Very Allergy aware (gluten and dairy for me), friendly, great service, well be back for sure!

I have weird food restrictions, the first time I went, they accommodated my needs so well, I suggested returning 3 days later. I ordered greens and onions with a chicken breast. At the second visit I ordered greens and onions and a salmon burger. The greens were swimming in water and almost tasteless. Food takes awhile to arrive and I was beyond hungry, I ate it without mentioning the pill of napkins it took to soak up the excess water. My husbands burger was very under seasoned.

Visiting Monticello and was looking for a place to eat a late lunch/early dinner. Food was mediocre.. but services was good.. my wife didnt care much for their club but they were kind enough to take it off the bill without any prompting by us..

Loud. Loud, loud, loud. The good was good but my sandwich, the cheese steak, was just too big and a little dry. The concept is great but there is a strange disconnect between the higher end burgers/sandwiches, the beer selection, and the games. Perhaps a little too hipster for me but a nice change of pace for sure.

Good food. Good value. Great service. I bring my department here every year. They have a great time with the pinball games.

I love this restaurant! It has such a good atmosphere and food. You can play games while you wait for food. We played cards while we waited, ate our food, and followed up with arcade games and Foosball. Great place to go with large groups!

Great selection of vegan/vegetarian options and drink selections. I had the vegan Italian sausage sandwich with a “New Fangled” with their vegan chocolate mousse for desert, and all were fantastic. We sat on the porch, which was delightful and our service was good. I hope to be bringing friends in the future!

Love this place. Good food, good selection of drinks, games, nice people. Its such a terrific spot for meeting up with a friend, taking your whole family for games and a meal, watching a game. One of my top five favorite restaurants in Charlottesville.

Went this past weekend. My food came out cold...sent it back and it came out luke warm. My wife got a chicken wrap and tater tots. I got a burger and tater tots. We each got a draft (PBR and Champion Shower beer). The bill was $36. The food was average at best. A burger, a wrap, 2 beers....$36. Just not worth the price.

One of our favorite places! Good selection of food, mostly locally sourced. Fun collection of old video arcade games, pinball, foosball and pool.

Fun hangout/bar with classic arcade games, fuseball, pool, sceeball, and a nice collection of pinball games (the Simpsons included.). Beer menu was great, nitro coffe stout, good IPA, sours, and ales, some local from Charlottesville. Food is really good, gourmet comfort food. Had a lot of fun with my family.

Pretty neat place. We were just in the area and needed some lunch. Found it online and decided to give it a shot. Food was great. My biscuits and gravy could have been a little warmer, but it was awesome. Would like to go back next time we are close.

Waitress forgot to put our order in for about half an hour after we ordered. Afterwards we were rushed out before we had even had a chance to sign the checks by a different waitress who had been shooting us glares because of how long we had been taking up the booth.The pulled pork has burned and the brownie in the Sundae is dry and awful.And they didnt have coke.

Upscale bar food and decently priced drinks. Overrun with children.Seems like it would be a fun gathering spot on any week night or weekend. Unfortunately, despite t being a bar, children generally run rampant and unsupervised. If you catch it at a good time and there are no kids running wild, it is actually a good spot to get together with friends and play some games.They do have a small selection of board games, a few pinball machines, and a few classic arcade cabinets. The bar and food prices aren’t too bad. They are going for upscale bar food and I think they accomplish this.

Really enjoyed Firefly! The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. My wife and I shared some sweet potato fries, she had a salmon burger and I had the Firefly cheeseburger - all were very good. After that we hung around to finish our drinks and play some pinball. They have a nice selection of pinball machines and retro arcade games. We will definitely be back.

FIREFLY is one of the hidden gems of Charlottesville! It has a very homey Stranger Things vibe with amazing food and arcade games. It’s a great place to come and hangout with your friends. The tots nachos are one of my favorite menu items and I would highly recommend. Parking can be confusing so plan ahead if you’re not sure of the directions to arrive. They have a small lot up front but they is have a back lot with more parking when they’re busy. I’m stoked to have found a family friendly place with amazing food! I will be back!

The cider and the food was good! It was a bit loud, so not a great lace for dinner if you want to have conversation.

Attended a catered christmas party here. Very cool atmosphere, good beer selection, excellent appetizers. Our group rented the whole restaurant. My only complaint is that there isnt much parking, however you may be able to find parking on the street.

Firefly is a fun place to go in Charlottesville with friends or on a date. They have good food with a gastropub type feel with high quality food and good beer on tap. Theyre very family friendly and have old school arcade games on location.

Fun local dive. Good food, nice drink menu. Fun arcade with vintage games and pinball. We took our littles and they really enjoyed it. My wife and I did too. Everyone wants to go back. We went during brunch hours on a Saturday and theyre were several other families there. Im sure its a different scene when UVA is in session or later in the day, but we had a pleasant time with our kids.

Really enjoyed the food. Great music (The Cure, Depeche Mode,etc.) Staff is very friendly and efficient. No issues coming in with a service dog, which is always appreciated.

Firefly was a lot of fun. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, good arcade games, and a good selection of beer. The wait staff is also very polite and knowledgeable about the food and drinks.I did have to go from 5 stars to 4 because of the parking, delay in receiving the bill, and quality of some of the food. Parking is probably beyond their control but is still a bit of a pain while the delay in receiving the bill and the food quality is on them. Most of the food was good, but some of it was very over done and dry.Even with one or two detractors however, Firefly is a fun place to go and I intend to return to check out their trivia night.
