This was our first time to Discovery Place Science. We didnt have huge expectations because of how altered everything is during this pandemic, but even still, we were a little disappointed. The advance reservation, social distancing, mask requirement, symptom & temp check upon entry were all very well done & greatly appreciated. Kudos to the leadership & staff on that part! The admission and parking fees seemed a bit exorbitant however, especially considering a lot of the exhibits, activities, and events were closed/shut down. For our small family of 3, we paid ~$70 for maybe 1.5 hours of okay entertainment. We appreciate them limiting capacity, and understand that might drive up the cost of operating. That said, its unlikely our family will return but maybe once every few years on a rainy day. It might be the exact opposite for others though. Its also geared more toward kids in maybe the 5-12yo range, which also could have changed our experience.Id recommend finding a metered spot on the street unless you plan on spending more than a few hours there.

Rude employees. Particularly three female employees. We went Saturday around 12:30. A lady in green on the bottom floor and two females wearing blue on the top floor were rude to our 3 year old. They directly yelled at him to put his mask up. He’s 3! All excited and playing. Mask was bigger than his face and kept slipping despite the green piece they provided. He’s jumping and being a kid so of course his mask will slip. Those 3 rude ladies directly yelled at him in our presence instead of addressing it nicely with us! We ended up leaving earlier cause we were uncomfortable staying there. We will not come back and will never recommend this place.

Visited the museum this past Saturday & the kids had a great time . They have attractions & activities for all ages. Compared to times in the past the museum had a few more activities & exhibits than I recall in the past. Three floors of exploring, a handful of the exhibits were closed due to covid but there is still plenty to do.. upon entering your temp. is taken & you are to wear a mask durning your visit. This is easily a place that you could spend 3hrs at! The staff was also very kind & friendly .

Great place to spend time as a family. Educational and fun for people of ALL ages as you are never too old to learn something new and have fun while learning it. Great hands-on exhibits that are fully functional and not in need of repair. Staff is pleasant and helpful. There is something of interest in science for everyone to explore and enjoy. The last time I brought my family here, my son was 12 years old. Today he is 26 and we had just as much fun today as we did years ago. Highly recommend, especially if you have inquisitive children.

Excellent place if you want to have your baby upset and cry! we decided to brave the pandemic and give this place a shot. Unfortunately, they wouldnt allow our toddler to have a tiny snack inside. We asked if we could have a snack outside and come back in. Seeing as we paid almost $60 for a couple of people to enter, this seemed pretty reasonable. However, we were told that we were not allowed to leave and re-enter So, essentially there was no way to get a tired, crying baby a snack. Not a great way to treat your customers.

If youre considering coming here with a toddler save your money and time until theyre a bit older. Most of the exhibits are geared towards older kids and forget giving little ones a snack. No food allowed, and they will not allow you to leave to give your angry toddler a snack and come back in. Furthermore, asking 2-year-olds to wear a mask is nearly impossible even for the best behaved little ones. The CDC doesnt even ask for this until theyre 5. Left angry and nearly $60 lighter for our little family of 3.

There are 3 floors, but we went on a Saturday and almost every square inch of the place was crowded. What makes it unique as opposed to any random Science museum is that they have a pretty decent sized rain forest theater and aquarium. The store was a bit expensive, but the entrance at $24 was a fair price for a couple of hours of engaging fun.

Ive been coming here since I was Young on field trips. Ive always enjoyed it. When I got older I started bringing my children here. We always had a blast. Yesterday we went for the first time in a long time and I have to say I was disappointed. All four of my kids were bored within a half hour of getting there. It just doesnt seem the same. Cuba was their exhibit and you had to pay more to get into it. If you didnt then you were left with only half the museum to enjoy. I must say my family and I wont be back. Goodbye Discovery Place. It was fun when it was fun.

We went on November 7th 2020. It was our second time bringing the grandchildren here. We brought my son here when he was a child. I know things are different now because of Covid but they should be ashamed to charge full price for what they are offering.A lot of the rooms dont have people or supplies in them. I could give you multiple examples but one would be where Ozobots were. They were all broken, except for one and they markers had dried out tips and there was no one supporting the room and it was dirty.About a fourth of the activities werent available to use due to Covid even though they seemed to have no more touch points than the other activities. They have no main feature or attraction right now. about six months ago it was dinosaurs and in a few months it will be AI.Overall if you want to spend an hour somewhere with your kids its worth about five bucks not the nearly twenty they charge plus parking. I would wait until this place goes back to what it used to be before I spend my money. Shame on them!

Also, the iMax and Bug Lab exhibit are an additional charge. The facility is well kept and designed and is appropriate for all ages. You can easily spend hours exploring here. Our only bad experience was with the Curiocity Cafe. It took 30 minutes to get our food and it was missing a salad. It then took an additional 15 minutes (a total of 45 mins.) To get the salad. We almost missed our iMax and had to settle for terrible seats. Other than this, we had a good experience. If you plan to eat an ordered meal at the cafe, be sure to account for an hour.
