This is one of the absolute best experiences I have had during my road trip through The South. The actors were fantastic and were incredibly good at involving the audience, which is a major part of the show (no hints given!).

Some of the most fun Ive had downtown. If you like comedy styled theater, this place is great. They even have pretty good snacks, so be sure to get their early to place an order.

Funny and we loved the interactive element and being a part of the show. It was a fantastic evening! We will definitely attend another performance and join in the fun again!

Family of five with kids aged 8 to 14, all had a terrific time. The show was witty enough for the adults with comedy that kept the youngest ones attention. The actors were engaging, friendly, and clearly had fun with the show and supporting cast of audience members. If you want some silly fun with friends or family, whether you want to be an active participant or just sit and watch, its a great option. The drinks are reasonably priced, but I would avoid the cost of the basic desserts unless you just want something to nosh.

My family had such a fun time at the Black Fedora. My 11 and 8 year old participated in the show and loved using their detective skills to solve the mystery. Perfect for more mature kids. There is no pressure for those that don’t wish to participate and prefer to sit back and enjoy the show. This is a small intimate space with an appetizer and dessert menu that are reasonably priced. Being locals, we will definitely be back to enjoy some of the other shows! The staff/actors could not be more friendly!

My husband and I watched Inspector NoClue here. I will admit, I was a little skeptical when we first arrived because the performance area was so small, but they exceeded our expectations and the evening was filled with laughs and a very personal experience. Arrive a few minutes early and your table can place a drink, snack, or dessert order. Your table can also complete the fun icebreaker, name that detective. Prior to the show, members of the cast will assign parts to members of the audience. Dont worry, its on a voluntary basis, if youre shy you can just sit back and watch. The show is divided into 2 acts, with most of the audience participation in the second act and a chance to solve the mystery at the end. I highly recommend the Black Fedora and plan to return soon to watch a different show. This would be a great place for a group or families with older kids/teens.

The show was great and funny, very enjoyable. I can’t comment on the food. Staff was severely short handed. We ordered drinks and it took so long for those. There was only one waitress on this night so we were never able to get her to come back to order food.

We had a Birthday girl and family from ages 6 to 46 and just had a jolly time. Be sure to grab a quick bite before you come. When you arrive there are plenty of tasty and Affordable snacks as well as a good selection of beverages. The cast was great and they are definitely Making America Great one laugh at a time. Highly recommended for the entire family. If you get to the area early there are plenty of shops to puruze through along the market.

Great experience! Met our bucket list expectations. Staff were friendly and acting was entertaining. Had the hummus and pita chips; yummy! Highly recommend for the price and enjoyment.

Very fun and unique experience! I love that the option to participate is just that, an option and no one is roped into doing anything they aren’t comfortable with. Makes for a great audience participation. We had dinner plans so we didn’t eat anything but everyone else’s food around us looked delightful. The tickets we’re very reasonably priced. We will absolutely be back again in future visits.

It was such fun. We had a group of ten and a few of us were chosen as cast members. They do a wonderful job, the owners also act and write the shows. Very intimate space so be ready meet your neighbors. I will go back Everytime I visit Charleston and would recommend it to all. The 4 instead of 5 stars is just some of our group had seats against stage wall and couldnt see that portion of show. But they still laughed and had a wonderful time.

Just FUN. Went with my husband and 2 college age kids. Atmosphere is rekaxed and friendly. The show was silly and fun and audience participation really made it a great experience.

Extremely funny show, took our 14 son he loved it too. Good crowd mix, retired folks to 20 year olds on date night to families with teenagers in attendance. Safe part of town, easy 3 block walk back public parking garage. Show lasted 2 hours, food was average quality with limited menu. However several high quality restaurants are with short walking distance for before the show or after the show meals.

This was my favorite thing we did in Charleston. I dont remember when I last laughed so hard. My 13-year-old and 11 years old enjoyed it as well. The show was so cleverly written and the actors were superb. My 13 year old loved being a part of the show, and my shy 11-year-old loved that she was allowed to just sit and watch without being pulled in. Thanks for the great family memories.

It all began when 2 English majors had a dream. The Black Fedora is the go-to place for a laugh and fantastic company. Want to be surrounded by a crowd of complete strangers, get a (volunteer) part in the play, and thoroughly enjoy your evening? Done. Darryl, Sherry, and the crew are wonderful hosts and I have gone and participated three times so far, currently looking for the next time we can make it! Ive enjoyed the Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theater twice now, and both times were quite enjoyable. The ticket price is reasonable and the entertainment is always fun! My only complaint would be the seating is a bit cramped, especially if youre not slim/trim. Wouldnt keep me from going back, however. Everyone there is wonderful and engaging, even outside the performances.

My wife and I had a fantastic time! We went and saw Inspector NoClue. The show was very entertaining and had us laughing out loud the entire time. The high level of audience interaction is unique and really made the experience that much more enjoyable. This was easily one of the most fun experiences of our short trip to Charleston and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time!

What a fun place!! The theatre is small, intimate, and cozy. The beverage, snack, and dessert offerings are tasty and reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and efficient. Best of all, the show was delightful!! Funny, original, and very interactive. Lots of parts for willing audience members... and our audience was very willing! LOL We laughed and laughed. Wish Charleston was closer so we could attend regularly. As it is, we will definitely seek out the Black Fedora the next time we are in the area. If you are looking for a unique way to end your evening in Charleston, check them out. The show we saw was appropriate for adults or children. We even had kids participating in the action. Good for family night, date night, or time out with friends.

The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre and Shoppe is an excellent entertainment option in Charleston. I have had a lot of fun and good time every time I have been here. This is a really good value for all of the entertainment you get in a show and it is well worth it.

This was interactive theater at its finest!The cast was amazing! They were the greeters and servers and then much to my surprise, they then became the actors of this murder mystery!The audience members selected to be actors/actresses, were so good, you wouldve thought that they were actually members of the cast!Great fun and I would highly recommend!Hampton, VA

One of the best nights I have had out in along time. It was so much fun. The actors were incredible and I couldn’t have taken my mom to a better theater for her birthday. For a small theater it was a group of talent and kept me in stitches. When looking for something to do in Charleston i highly recommend picking the Black Fedora.

We were incredibly disappointed in this script. The actors and the audience participants were very good, but the story line was not at all entertaining. We left at intermission because we couldnt bare another minute. If youre looking for something entertaining we really enjoyed improv @ Theater 99 last night.

I agree with Mollies review - Sherlocks Brother from a Southern Mother was far from entertaining. I came in a party of 6 and we were ready to leave 10 minutes into the show. The icebreaker table activity was the best part of the evening. (Im from Washington, DC but have enjoyed comedy shows in DC, NYC, Chicago, and Vegas.) A few funny one-liners and a comical audience member but the story line was all over the place and difficult to follow. The actors work hard but its a mystery how this place has 4.8 stars.

My absolute favorite place to visit in Charleston!!! This was absolutely our best surprise find that we stumbled upon. Even those in our group who are not into acting had a great time. They had a few nibbles and light drinks and it was super fun and family friendly for all ages. It was so fun watching grandparents enjoy making fun memories with their grand children. I loved this interactive side-splitting theater! Not only do I hope it keeps going, I would also love to see this interactive concept duplicated throughout the US. THANK YOU for such a fun time!!! Cant wait to get back to the east coast just for this!!!

If you are visiting Charleston or even live here, you need to come to this place. They have good food and appetizers, drinks, and wonderful customer service. The show was worth seeing for sure. Laughed the whole time. Come here and see!!!!

LOVED the show. I loved the interaction! I did participate. The show we went to was family friendly. Not for younger kids, that say cannot read age. Wings were not so good but the chips and salsa and queso was. Wine and Beer are available. Its a very fun venue of who dun it with comedy and audience participation. Check the shows before you go. I was told there are shows geared for adults only. FUN!

Absolutely one of the best times I have had in awhile. Everyone who works there are so nice and welcoming. The show was hilarious! Its a great place to visit if you want a good time and a good laugh with friends and family. Food and drinks are not provided but are very affordable. I will definitely go back and recommend this place to my family and friends.

I went here while on my honeymoon, it was such a awesome experience. The cast was quirky and A LOT of fun. They have appetizers and deserts. We shared a apple pie/ice cream with two coffees...both were great! A very unique experience that I would recommend to anyone! Worth the money!

I was looking for a fun and exciting experience in Charleston and boy did we find it! This show was so much fun! My husband and teenage son participated in the show. I have never laughed so much. All the characters came to life in such a fun and unexpected way. I recommend this experience when visiting this town. Great staff and cozy atmosphere. I wish my town in St Augustine Fl had this show!

Went with friends to see “We Three Thieves” last night across the street from Tommy Condon’s Irish Pub. It’s a very small venue and the comedy play was excellent. They pass out scripts to the volunteers in the audience to play parts. The four young people who were the major actors did an exceptional job pulling us all into the action. The price seemed right for a couple hours of entertainment. They have water, soda, beer for sale as well as some homemade desserts served with ice cream for $6.00. I would recommend anyone who dislikes stuffy crowds to come and enjoy a show.V/r,Scott

The show was boring and less than stellar performances. The service was very slow and awkward by that I mean orders were taken and delivered after the lights went out and the show had started. Despite us and the entire room being seated over 15 minutes before the show with no waitress service. Strange and really threw off the crowd. Definitely dont suggest it and will not be going back. Save your money.

Went for my birthday and it was fantastic. I didnt play any parts but really enjoyed watching the people who did. Being it was my birthday they sang Happy birthday to me. I plan to go again soon.

They are so funny! Happened on this place with my friend while exploring downtown for the millionth time. 100% coming back. They have a great little game where you guess the detectives on the walls and is worth winning. I havent won so Ill have to try again.

This is the BEST hidden gem in the city. This was our fourth time visting. We are never disappointed. The staff are super friendly, the shows are always funny, and we never leave without a smile on our faces. We recommend this place highly. We enjoy ourselves so much we buy gift certificates for our friends and family, so they can experience it too!!!!

Brilliant fun. As a complete non-actor, I wondered what I had let myself in for, but I needn’t have given it a moment’s thought. I played a corpse that spoke and was threatened with mouth-to-mouth by the male lead! It was the best fun and the photo will be cherished.

We had awesome time in our date. The show was Interactive, fun, hilarious. Come to be in the show, not for dinner. Have fun with strangers and play the detective identification game for a door prize.

We attended the Sherlock Holmes show last night for my daughters 16th birthday, per her request. Not only was the interactive show a joy, the entire shop went out of their way to make my girl feel special for her big day. They made her a personalized card (signed by the crew), sang to her, and generally made her feel wonderful. Be sure to grab dinner before the show, but remember they offer tasty desserts and snacks (and drinks) at affordable prices too.

This place is AWESOME!!! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it after a walk through the market. The very sweet worker explained what they were all about and we were sold immediately!! It was such a fun night filled with a lot of laughing and silliness. We even made friends with the couple next to us and went out for drinks after! I would highly recommend this as a must-do while you’re visiting Charleston!!

The food was reasonably priced and good. The Sherlock Holmes brother story was really funny and well written. The staff did an amazing job and where so kind by far one of the best experiences Ive ever had. If you get the chance do your self a favor and go you wont regret it.

This was the highlight of our Charleston trip! So much fun. Not only are the actor(esse)s funny and witty but they get the audience involved too. We laughed so much and had the best time! They serve drinks, appetizers and desserts. We only had drinks however people around us ordered apps and desserts and they looked and smelled amazing. I wish I could give this place 10 stars...totally worth the $$ and dont doubt it, just do it!

Fun! Its offbeat and zany story pulls (willing) audience members into the story. Weaving a nonsensical story into a night no one will forget. I went as a single and got chatting with two ladies from England. All three of us ended up on stage doing the Macarrana and had a blast! Do yourself a favor, even if you chose not to participate in the show, you will not want to miss this!

The room is really small, which gives an intimate feel. The play is done in a very participative spirit, in good mood and entertaining. Though the audience participation has an impact on the understanding of the overall plot, which is anyway a bit weak (Sherlock’s other brother). The desserts served are excellent and very reasonably priced. The owner and staff are really nice. If you go, you will spend a good moment.
