It is hard to summarize what a comprehensive, excellent program-Youth Hoops- is! John Berry and his staff are more than just coaches, and coaches they are. But they are also mentors to the players that attend their programs. Youth Hoops teaches these kids valuable, relevant basketball skills and truly helps develop them in to better players. However, John and his staff integrate life lessons in their coaching programs, along with messages about the importance of respecting themselves and others. Johns enthusiasm and passion for what he does to build kids up is tangible. But talk can be cheap. So I will share this. My son who played one season in 2nd grade for Carrboro Parks and Recs, did not pick up a ball again until 12. I am not sure what motivated that move. I think my alma maters basketball team perhaps. He really wanted to try out for basketball at Smith middle as a rising EIGHTH grader. Lofty goal. I enrolled him in several Youth Hoop programs. He learned so much. His skill set went from raw talent (at best) to a skilled player. And . . . he made the team. While my kids desire and work ethic were pivotal, all the effort in the world couldnt teach him the ball handling, shooting skills, key basketball strategy and plays he needed to make the team. So thank you John and coaches. Yall are the BEST.

A friend invited my son to visit one of the coaching camp sessions while we were out of state in NC, he seem to enjoy his time learning new basketball skills. The lead coach and director John Berry has a great passion for what he does in teaching these young kids not only the skills to be a great team player, but the values to become a great individual in life. My husband and I had the opportunity to join in a wonderful discussion with coach Berry after the session, and he even gave us a complimentary book he had written Life Lessons and Basketball Tips. Would love to have our son attend his camp but we are out of state, wish this was available in Central Florida. Would definitely recommend youth Hoops basketball camps.

Ive had all 3 of my kids participate in Coach Berrys instructional camps and watched my kids improve from session to session. Instruction is fundamentals-based, very structured, and prescriptive. Additionally, the coaches include a theme for the day (life lesson), discipline, and support to each camper (especially if your kid isnt catching on). They offer a 100% money back guarantee, but I cant imagine anyone having to exercise it. I highly recommend!
