Meta has been great for my kids. Not only are they learning about soccer, they learn life skills at Meta. How to win (and lose) gracefully, be respectful, a team player, a better listener, to respect their bodies and most importantly to enjoy the game! Love, love, love Meta and their coaching staff!

My son has played for this club for almost 3 years. The thing I like is that they put the player first, not the wins. They work on developing the player into great athletes. Yearly surveys are sent out and the club takes the input and improves year after year. Please take the time to investigate and check them out!

Best parents, best kids, and best coaches! This club has taught my kids far more than soccer. I have learned the importance of multi sport play to decrease burn out and injury in our kids. My kids learn great soccer, wear cool uniforms, and have a ton of fun.

This club has been awesome for our son. The coaches he’s had these past few years and coaches he’s guest played for have all been great to work with. (Judd, Hoffman, Pruitt) They communicate well with us and help our son work through things he needs to improve on while also building him up and being supportive in the areas he excels.

Our son tried out for Meta the first year it was created and has been there since. He has had nothing but positive experiences with the club and his coaches. I love that the focus is on player development.

Huge on player development and huge on fun. What more can you ask for? My son has been playing with Meta for a few years now and its made such a difference. All of the coaches weve worked with have been amazing. The camaraderie between the parents is great - my sons team is an extension of my family. Hes learned plenty of soccer skills, but more importantly hes learned confidence.

Having a child in youth soccer for over 5 years and seeing how many other clubs are run, I wonder why there arent more like Metasport? I was initially attracted to the idea that they are a club that would expose my daughter to multiple sports and delay the inevitable burnout I see with kids that do all-soccer all-the-time, but once we became part of the club I saw that the benefits went far beyond exposure to other sports. I think that club founder Britain Thomas is definitely a player development Nerd and is the kind of guy that is constantly researching and thinking about how to make players not only faster and stronger, but healthier and smarter as well. This methodology seems to flow down through all the coaches and staff and everyone seems to be on-board with the goal of putting players first. My opinion of Britain was especially re-enforced during a yearly gathering with one of my best friends from high school who has gone on to become an Orthopaedic surgeon and Team Physician for NCAA teams at a large University. The subject of sports always comes up and she was relating to me the alarming amount of injuries that she has been seeing in recent years due mostly in part to athletic specialization. Be it Football, Basketball, Soccer, Gymnastics, etc. she has seen a sharp increase in fractures, breaks, and muscle tears all due to the repetitive nature of focusing on only one sport all the time. More and more, she sees parents and coaches promote the idea that if a child is going to be good at their sport, they must focus on it solely to the exclusion of all other activities! And this brings me back to why I appreciate the philosophy of Metasport. To be sure, there is plenty of training that focus on Soccer skills. However, they are interspersed with training that focus on balance, strength, speed and agility using fun activities that are analogous to yoga or cross-fit. And winter training include sports like Basketball and Volleyball in order to give the kids the chance to use other skills and muscle groups.I have witnessed in my lifetime all the would-be athletes who have left their glory years behind them in high-school or college when they focused on one sport only to be nursing chronic injuries in their 30s and 40s that keep them from even being active on a regular basis. Sure, I hope that my daughter becomes a great soccer player, but the thing that would really make me happy is if she internalizes all the training that have to do with balance, strength and agility and makes it a part of her life. I think this will make her stronger at whatever she decides to do.

This club and the coaches care about kids! They want to make an impact on the ‘whole’ child and always took an interest in building rapport with my daughter. I love that she learned more than just soccer skills at Meta but also learned to be disciplined, focused, learned to take care of her body, learned to be a good teammate, to be gracious in defeat, humble in success, respect officials, and set both long term personal and team goals. She is a senior this year and will be leaving club soccer and my experience is that not all clubs’ leadership value and prioritize these things.

Before MetaSport was around, we were with a good club and situation. Because of the National age change, my 13 year old son was given the ability to choose where he wanted to play. 4 clubs came to the top. The only club that asked him what was he looking for in his development was MetaSport. At the time, my son just missed selection to the State Select 18 and ODP Region IV Camp. He was frustrated and knew he needed to improve and get the feedback he needed to reach it. My son responded that he needed a coach that was hard on him and challenged him. MetaSport (Coach Thomas) said that he would and had a conceptual personal plan before tryouts were over for the day. This club has kept that promise since and has opened up my eyes on what development can be. Now 16, my son has had a career that could not have been imagined if he stayed with the good club that had everything a “traditional” parent would want. He gave up being a featured player on a P1 and State Cup contending team, has not looked back, and did not negatively impact him. He was able to train down to his age to learn other positions, and play up (two years) to a challenging level. This club is different and may not be for everyone. Maybe there are Meta players that have not had the same positive experience as my two but I can surely speak for my kids. At this club, ten different coaches that have had a direct role in “development” (Thomas, Holbrook, Mollman, Hoffman, MacGregor, Hunter, Mackenzie, Perkins, Tesch, and Smith). They have all shown a above expectation level of care for their trade, professionalism as people, and care for the players. My kids have had a winter club offseason that they needed where they can have fun with club introduced other sports and strength/conditioning workouts. Most importantly, they are not over soccer loaded so they can do ODP without overusage-type injuries. They have had access to club summer away soccer camps and service projects. Because of Meta, they are better players and better humans.
