Such a cool venue and super safe and well planned out during Covid.

Went for Uptown Friday night and saw a very fun band, The Mix Tape. Plenty of room for dancing and really liked the comfortable seating. I Had a really tasty Blackberry/Rosemary Spritzer drink and my cousin liked the wine selection. I do think $5.00 pop is a bit much, and they need to do some bug spraying...or more bug spraying...we had to move a few times because the biting gnats were pretty bad in the grassy areas.

Very good experience. My tickets were ready at will call, the check in went smoothly, and seating was nicely spaced apart to deal with covid-19. Didnt look like there was a bad seat anywhere. Very easy to see the stage and very nice sound. Over all we had a very nice time.

Really nice outdoor venue right on the river next to downtown. Small and intimate feel compared to many other amphitheaters. They had chairs put out on grass so it has a natural feel. The venue acts as a flood levy too, and I’m glad they were able to also use it as something cool.

Went to the Amphitheater for an outdoor Weird Al Strings Attached Tour concert. The seating is great, with 3 terraced levels for chair seating, and large grassy areas around that for blanket seating. Food/drinks are not allowed in, but plenty of concessions (get them early to avoid long, time-consuming lines), plenty of porta-potties. There are areas on the streets for parking nearby, also a couple paid parking lots (definitely the way to go - especially if handicapped parking needed) and a parking ramp a few short blocks distance of walking. The Ampitheater seats a total of about 4600. Id definitely go there again.

Nice setting... best views are center and higher up the hill so you can enjoy the Riverview in the background thats missed from a lower seat. Cement benches divided by fairly wide grassy stretches so you can spread a blanket or sit comfortably as well. (A stadium seat would make it more comfortable though.) On a beautiful day or night, its a great place to take in a concert! Lots of extra grassy places to cluster with friends or throw down a blanket. Very nice!

Went to praise on the river on Sunday. The venue is pretty nice with lots of space. The event seemed not that well organized, we planned to see River of Life band at 5 PM but left before they played since it was already after 5.

The bands were great and the venue is nice but when you have a rude staff and 45 minute beer lines it makes it less enjoyable of a concert.

What a joke! 3 beer vendors for a big concert, and they were selling cans of beer but pouring them into glasses... per order not ahead of time. How is it that plenty of other places can people through lines way more efficiently. If you want to enjoy a cocktail at your concert dont plan seeing the concert from the line. Also the pop and water is in the same line as the booze. Really?!? You are going to make someone wait in the beer line to get a water or pop!

This is a fantastic addition to CR. This was the 3rd time Ive been here. I did experience the chaos of how long it takes to get a drink if they are busy. Try to buy more tokens in the beginning (they are good for all venues) so you dont have to go back if it is busy and get two drinks at a time so you can enjoy the show.

A nice open air amphitheater along the Cedar River in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA. The setting is gorgeous. There is a permanent stage with a great sound system. The seating is ideal to bringing lawn chairs or a blanket to spread out on the ground. I am guessing that it could accommodate around 1,000 people. Its a great place to see a concert.

Other than it being a gamble with the weather (Aka you are going to get very wet if it rains) there isnt a bad seat anywhere! Downtown CR is beautiful along the river at night and combine that with music & good company you will have a wonderful night (even if it does rain)! As always beverages are pretty pricey!

Way to go Cedar Rapids! I love this venue so much! There are so many great places to park your lawn chairs where you can see and feel the great music the city brings in. We were able to see Jason Mraz for just $25 per ticket. The only down side, we were not allowed to bring in an umbrella and had walked quite a ways to get here dragging along our chairs and umbrellas because there was a chance of rain. We were told we would have to leave umbrellas outside the venue so we ditched them in tall weeds next to the gates. Of course we forgot to pick them up on the way out. Damn....I lost a brand new umbrella and we did end up getting drizzled on.

The ampetheatre is a decently sized venue but the proximity to the river makes it very buggy at times and the breeze usually blows the haze away during acts with larger productions. That being sad, there are usually a few really great acts that come through every year so its still worth going fairly often.

They have some decent shows, but when they built the place they did not plan for parking, or what to do in case of bad weather... NO SHELTER that would have been a simple solution the area for vendors keeps getting smaller, in years past they had room down river, but now those areas have been developed, so they are trying cram everything into a smaller space. Also they never cut down the weeds along the river so instead of enjoying the view of the river flowing by, the only thing you see clearly is the county jail across the river! Really CR get return of the 4 high weeds!

The strict concert staff ruined my experience at this venue. It would be great for watching a symphony orchestra, but for anything more upbeat (in this case, Modest Mouse) they did not accommodate the fans. The spot nearest to the stage was reserved for seating. Standing anywhere other than your seats was strictly prohibited. If you truly wanted to get energized about the performance you had to stand off to the side or in the very back where the view and the sound of the band were restricted. It was difficult to really get into the performance of one of my favorite bands when the staff is interrupting each song yelling sir you cant stand here either keep walking or go back to your seat! A better venue is a less restrictive venue.
