If youre new to the area or have even lived here your entire life, this is a hidden gem Im betting youve not yet seen. Its part of a network of caves in the area and these trails interconnect at least 7 caves that I have found. Its public property. So dont worry about trespassing. Signs stated the City of Cedar Park will be improving upon the trails in the near future. If youre up for a hike or a ride through the woods check it out!

Not very well traveled so the grass is high. I loved the cave markings and information. One trail has blue square markers at eye level. I saw one large owl and some very cool looking mushrooms (I think). I couldnt find a detailed trail map.

Buttercup Cave Preserve is one of the larger nature preserves in the area, with several cave openings (gated and often fenced-off.) There are a number of faded plaques that give information on each opening, though they need to be replaced.Occasional benches are set up along the trails, and there is at least one decrepit old picnic table. It has always been muddy on my visits, but the trails are rocky enough that it us not an inconvenience. One benefit of the wet ground is that it is easy to see the signs of wildlife, which appears to be abundant, even if I rarely see them in person.I have not found any designated parking for this preserve, however there is nearby residential parking.

Great place to go for a trail walk or run. Beautiful trails in Cedar Park and there are plenty of them. Natural flowers and wildlife are there too.

We enjoyed a two mile walk with our two German Shepherds at this beautiful park. It was mostly empty, so we had our dogs off-leash much of the time. The trails are Rocky, so you cannot walk very fast.

The caves are marked with informational posters. One trail is marked with blue diamond reflective markers paced at eye level on the trees. Other trails are not marked. We walked in circles a couple of times without a GPS.
