My son Zachary is going on his 2nd year at Nitro Swimming. He has gained so much confidence in his self and is a stronger swimmer. I am very proud of what he has accomplished at this facility. He couldnt have done it without support of the very best swim coaches/ instructors they have challenged my son to do his very best. We love our Nitro family Thank you.

We are off to a great start, so far. My kids have joined the summer camp and on day two they tested out my son and moved him up one level. All instructors and kids are monitored by 2-3 other coaches outside the pool and the whole facility is very efficiently run.Given the poor reviews for withdrawal policies, we will be more careful when approaching such dealings with front office. Our approach is to talk and find solutions but I am sure we all try that until things go really out of hand.I had so much fun watching the toddlers learn to swim and forgot to see mine learn in the pool!So I have left a pic here that shows them on the left, children at the summer camp in the middle and right, coaches around and the competitive swimmers at the far back. Yes, HUGE facility.

Nitro swimming is a wonderful organization, not only is the swimming instruction fantastic, the swim team coaches and staff truly care about the mental and physical growth of their swimmers. My son has thrived since moving here two years ago and has loved all his coaches. He was primed and ready to go for another season when we all had to shut down. That’s when Nitro went to work and as soon as it was possible we were back at the pool with very strict and followed protocols. My son was so happy to be back, it made all the difference in his mental health during this pandemic. They have even managed to host socially distanced swim meets to keep our swimmers excited about competing and allowing them to push themselves. We are very happy to be a part of Nitro Bee Cave!

Update: the office manager emailed me to tell me she called the owner and asked for an exception to be made, and I was granted a make up session. Therefore, I have adjusted my rating. Thank you Nitro for doing the right thing. We just signed up Monday for swim lessons in Cedar Park with my oldest daughter. Unfortunately, a few days after that, my 6 year old daughter was admitted to Dell Childrens hospital. She was admitted late Thursday. Needless to say, calling to reschedule a swim class completely slipped my mind until my google alert went off, 10 minutes prior to class. I called to explain and try to reschedule. A woman who identified herself as the office manager told me they cant reschedule, that we MUST give 24 hours notice. She said if she makes an exception for me, she has to make one for everyone. Uh... you absolutely should always make exceptions for people whose children are in the hospital. That shouldnt even be a question. I wont decide right now whether or not to cancel my contract with Nitro, because my daughter and I are STILL in the hospital, but Im really disappointed in Nitro and the heartless attitude of the staff. I find it hard to believe there is nothing they can do. I find it more disturbing that theres nothing they WANT to do. Shame on you, Nitro.

Additionally, they allow you to have make up classes if you know youre going to miss a class in advance, which has been HUGE! I cannot thank you and your staff enough Mike! Signed my boys up for Nitro, had a great experience for first 2 lessons. We missed the 3rd lesson due to our entire family being out with the flu. Since we forgot to call Nitro 24 hours in advance while helping our hurling kids, we were charged for our classes. When I called to reschedule(and hopefully get our money back or change the date) I got the rudest lady on the phone, unwilling to help, unwilling to make things right, talking over me, etc. But if we would have called a few hours earlier we would have been given a “token” to reschedule. Ridiculous....We won’t be back...

I would have given 0 if there was one. They have become greedy. I got absolutely no directions / guidance on how to get a class (makeup) for an absence (on three different occasions). You call them to report an absence and you expect to get a proper guidance on how to report absence and get a makeup class. Front desk confirmed that my call to absence was recorded (i double checked twice) and i was asked to call back on any day between 9-11 AM to get the makeup class. However, when i called between 9-11 i was told that i SHOULD have reported it online and not by phone. Are you kidding me? why wasnt i told when i called to report absence and why the heck was i asked to call betweeen 9-11 to get the makeup class then? Pure cheating.

My daughter has been going to this school for some time. It was better sometime ago, but now it looks more like an assembly line. They force the kid to pass the stations as fast as possible, their bathrooms are ver badly maintained and they have a great rotation of employees now and it’s pretty noticeable that some coaches don’t have any experience. I’m moving my daughter to Emler and when I said that I was withdrawing her, they charged me for more classes that I’m not even going to use.

Years ago, my kids learned to swim with Nitro and I really liked the way they progressed through the different skills stations. When it came time for me to learn how to swim, I chose a swim school closer to my home. While I learned some basic skills, I was not able to swim effectively and I was unhappy with my progress. I decided to try Nitro for myself and signed up for group lessons as well as private lessons to see which route would get me swimming the fastest. Private lessons were a better fit for me and I was able to improve my freestyle stroke dramatically in my first lesson. I now am proficient at the backstroke and am improving my freestyle and breast stroke each session.Watching Mike and Bridgette be so comfortable and effortless in the water helps me relax and gives me a visual on how each stroke should look when done correctly. Thank you Nitro for helping me achieve my goal of becoming a swimmer!

Weve had a great experience with Nitro. I have two children who have both excelled in the program. One is in the Intro program and would rather be in the water than on land. She has determined that when she grows up, she wants a job that will still allow her to swim. The other one was timid in the water and the very professional group teaching Swim Lessons have been nothing but supportive and amazing with her, especially Coach Bonnie. She has flourished under their watchful eye and cant wait to join her sister on swim team. I have no doubt that theyve made life long swimmers out of my kids. Amazing program.

I am so grateful for the staff at Nitro!!! So, so grateful! My five year old had a really bad experience with a coach from another swim program based out of the Round Rock area. (The coach was not a Nitro coach, this was a completely different program). After one lesson with that awful coach (again, not Nitro!), my son who had previously loved the water was scared to death to even submerge his face. I called Nitro to let them know about his awful experience and they were so incredibly caring with how they responded. I could tell that they genuinely cared about my son and I am so grateful for that. When we showed up for my sons next swim lesson at Nitro the staff there already knew about what had happened to him. One of the managers actually got into a bathing suit herself and spent the entire lesson with my son one on one, just making sure that he had a positive experience. My son relaxed within minutes with this coach and came out of class feeling so proud and so happy. Hes happily putting his face in the water again and is making great strides with his progress. Nitro completely saved the joy of swimming for my son. Words cannot express the gratitude that we feel for them in responding so incredibly kindly, and for helping us to fix a problem that they didnt even create. We will never take our children to another program. The fact that Nitro can be so big, and yet care so individually about each child has made us customers for life. The staff at Nitro is first rate and I would recommend them to any parent.

If I was writing this review only about the quality of Nitro’s swimming program, I would without a doubt give it five stars — but I am also writing about how I feel about the whole experience with the staff and building around me. I started Nitro swimming after I grew out of Emler Swim School and and as soon as I began their lessons provided at Nitro, I completely loved the feel of the water and the experience I got. As I got older and eventually moved into the lane pool, I joined the swim team immediately, knowing my swim career was about to begin. The practices can be very difficult and tiring but everyone is able to push through and feel accomplished after Nitro sets. Not only is the quality of the training very good, but the connection you get with the coaches is something you won’t forget in your entire life.Right now I am in the TAGS 1 group at the Cedar Park location and I love going to practice everyday, no matter how down I am feeling. I always know that I will be able to work harder and get through tough sets because I have constant support from my coaches and very close peers. Throughout the years I have stayed in touch with my previous coaches, whether it is high-fiving them on deck or even actually coming and talking to them about how my life is going. My last coach, Daniel McCord, was my coach in TAGS 2 and frankly, he is one of my favorite coaches ever. His style of becoming a champion is not all appearance and how fast you can move in the water. Coach Dan will make sure every one of his athletes has the right mindset and is able to get through the obstacles of life that come with being an athlete. He even started doing lectures every Friday called “Champion’s Training” where we learn about a new athlete or role model and use their own ways of solving problems and apply it to our life. All of the coaches at Nitro have their own way of coaching and each one will genuinely help you, even if at times, it doesn’t seem like it. Nitro will push you to become a better swimmer and will help you make memories that will stick with you for life.

If you dont want to be charged for next month, you must submit a withdrawal form online by the 15th of the month!Im sorry but that is ridiculous. Especially since we had a family emergency. Full disclosure, I was offered a credit if I provided a doctors note(give me a break). That doesnt help since we are not going back.

I have 2 daughters who have been instructed at Nitro. My oldest daughter LOVES to swim and wants to swim competitively some day. She had a very positive experience because she wanted to learn the different strokes correctly. We never had a negative experience with the coaches, though some were exceptionally good.My youngest daughter just wants to be able to swim. Nitro isnt the best place for her. She doesnt really care about floating the Nitro way or swimming on her back across the pool and turning over correctly. She just wants to be able to play in the water. I just pulled her from Nitro because it was a waste of money watching her play in the water every week without progressing. She often complained about the instructors, but I always watched very closely and understood that she was complaining because she didnt want to listen to them, not necessarily because of poor treatment. She wanted to do her own thing. In her 3 year old brain, the pool is for playing. I cant blame anyone for that. Just a preference.I understand the frustration some feel with Nitro. If your child just wants to be able to swim (like my daughter), it gets boring perfecting strokes week after week with little progression. There are probably other, more suitable programs. If your child wants to compete at some level or learn the correct strokes, progressing through Nitro can be a very positive experience.I give 3 stars based on 2 different experiences. It really depends on the expectations of the parent/swimmer.

Yes, the coaches do a decent job. But, no matter how many years you are there or how connected you feel your child is with the coach, youre just a number and nothing more. They value their money more than they value your child. And truth be told, your childs value on the Nitro market is less than $15. When I told my daughter we werent returning to Nitro and signing up at Waterloo, she cheered and was so excited. I didnt realize how unhappy she was at Nitro aside from the fact that she was losing interest in going to practice, which I thought was a pre-teen thing. No, she was actually unhappy there. And from how they treated us these past few days, I can see why. No one wants to be somewhere theyre not wanted. So, to Nitro I say, EAT OUR BUBBLES!

We have been part of the Nitro family since our oldest was 4 years old in 2011. Their individualized teaching philosophy was different than anything else we had encountered, and boy does it work! They will work with your child on each individual skill until they are comfortable and confident. Student to Teacher ratio is never over 3, and these lessons stay positive and focused. All three of my children have learned to swim at Nitro; my three-year-old is in Nitro 1 right now. After your child is comfortable swimming a pool length, I highly recommend their Summer Rec swimming program, which is 4 days a week in more of a swim team style practice. Finally, when your child is truly inspired to make swimming be a lifelong pursuit, the Nitro swim team is, simply put, one of the top teams in the nation. I cant say enough about the quality coaches and positive approach toward athletics.Owner Coach Mike spreads his time with all levels of swimmers, occasionally taking over a practice session, teaching a shift in the Nitro lessons pool, and constantly encouraging all the swimmers with high fives and fist bumps all around. All said, my now ten-year olds review sums it up: 100 stars!

Good place if you already know how to swim, and want to join the team. As far as learn to swim - could not imagine a worse experience. Staff is constantly rotating. No personal connection. The owner, Mike, is a bully- plain and simple, and runs a curriculum of bullying kids into executing skills for a one-time check-off, so they advance to the next station without actually learning the skill. Staff is on for 5+ hours at a time, without a break. Working with kids, in water, in these conditions? Dangerous, irresponsible, and greedy.

If you want your children to learn to swim the right way and be prepared for swim team or summer league then this is the place for you. They are no nonsense and that is probably why some other negative comments were posted but I like the fact that they operate in excellence and will not move your child up from a level until they have completely mastered a skill. If you want your child to be good at something, then thats what it takes..Perfect Practice..not just Practice makes Perfect. The coaches here are superb. We finally decided to sign up for Nitro but I was a bit hesitant due to the bad reviews here and in yelp but trying to look for the greater good we gave it a go ahead.Today I went to the Cedar Park location and was helped by Joshua Troyer. He was fine as far as efficiently finding us the spots we wanted and then came the financial aspect of the deal: He had already assumed that what I wanted was the one day a week lesson plan (which was fine because I guess he does read minds... Oh... I hope he doesnt!) and then I was handed the sheet where they make sure you know there is no refunds, no make up classes, all that stuff people complain about and I am not happy with but... gotta give a little to get some. When I was handed my receipt however I noticed that the amount was a quite higher than expected (by $60)... So I said you never told me about the fee and he replied is there pointing at the paper I had just signed and I knew there was nothing about such so he said I thought I told you, but if you want I can remove it What??!! That puzzled me... How in the world?... and after a couple of seconds he continued and then you wont be enrolled in the academy anymore... Oh!! That made me MAD... but his coolness was not affected at all... He insisted yet again that he could just take us off their program if I didnt want to pay the fee. What??!! I never said I didnt want to pay the fee? I said that I like to always know what I am going to be charged for BEFORE you run my card.Anyway... I really, really hope that the expectations live up to the hype... Because this was not a good beginning and I will be writing later about the lessons themselves.By the way, their office is always chaotic, people jump in front of you not respecting turns, both employees and parents are rude... Sigh... And they never answer the phone... You have to leave messages and then they return your call and if you dont answer they dont just leave a message but ask you to call again so it can get to be this unnerving little game that I hope I dont have to play too often.

Not a place for young (around 3-3.5 years) beginners at least. My daughter started from 3years. She was ok at the beginning. But after she got stuck at one station for 3 months, she and I both feel miserable. The main reason is the teachers are not consistent, so they dont know what was your kids problem last week. So each week I heard the same comments She is almost there, she is getting there, she just need to be more relaxed. But the coaches never taught her how to be relaxed. In other words, I dont think the coaches really know how to work on problems, which I think it is the main criteria to distingue teaching verses self-leaning. .Now my daughter became more and more nervous, coz for her age, if she cant find the fun part nor feels making progress, she will become upset and frustrated. So we decide to quit. BTW, they put my daughter into the wrong class couple of times without saying sorry, etc.

Awful Experience...(This is strictly in regards to swim lessons)The swim lessons arent bad, but the business itself, staff and customer service is one of the worst encounters that I have ever had.During my sons (3 years) third lesson I was called to the front desk to sign the Swim School Agreement and Waiver/Release of Liability for my son swim class... ON HIS 3RD LESSON. On reading the agreement, I saw that we had to submit a withdrawal online before the 15th or we would be automatically charged for the next month. This was the 17th, so two days past the cancellation day that I was just finding out about at that moment. So I asked what I needed to do to get him unenrolled and they said flat out no way. They couldnt do it and it was against their policy. After explaining that I was just finding out about this policy they said that it was online when we signed him up. Online it states...cancellation must be submitted online... no later than the 15th of the month in order to cancel for the current month. The current month of June 15th would be June. She didnt care, saw how that is not real clear and said that is not what they meant. Needless to say, I didnt sign their agreement. Before leaving she said that they had to have the Waiver/Release of Liability signed or my son could not do classes... on his THIRD class. After pointing this out, she said as a courtesy they let him participate to this point. After pointing out the irony of them have this hard and fast rule about the 15th, but being lenient on the release of liability she said to me (yes, her quote)... Well were a business and our goal is to make money.Thats about all you need to know about Nitro. After pushing her on the legality of our conundrum she went ahead and made an exception on their hard and fast rule. Look elsewhere.
