We love stopping in small town museums. This museum is a real gem. Lots to see and learn about history. Staff are very friendly. Very reasonable admission price of $4 per person. I am certain we will come back to tour again and see what we may have overlooked the first time. Well worth the stop!

The Frontier Homestead State Park is one of my favorite places to visit! They have friendly staff, interesting exhibits, and hands-on activities that really bring the history to life! It doesnt fit the mold of a look-but-dont-touch museum because they encourage you to pan for gold, try your hand at roping, and more. The Frontier Folklife Festival (June) and the Christmas at the Homestead celebration (December) are events we look forward to all year.

There was a festival at the park last week, there were a few vendors local and far traveling. They displayed great artistic talent from metal work to food creations. There was also some live Western style music that sounded pretty good, it drew a steady crowd stream and was an enjoyable surprise since I did not know it was going to be happening. It was new to me I had not seen an event in previous years at this venue usually most events like this one are held at the city park, but this event was put on without a hitch and was quite pleasant I hope to see more events put on at many different venues throughout this great town it brings people out and really livens up sleepy Cedar City and puts a very much needed and desired festivity in the atmosphere. Thank you to the event planners at the Frontier Museum and Homestead Park area for having this fun and entertaining festival. Very nice.

A very nice little out of the way state park in Utah. Homestead buildings and history that included Native American, Mormon, and Hispanic history all centered around the most important resource in southern Utah--water.We were the only visitors there so we got a private tour by a knowledgeable, interesting NA guide. Worth going out of your way for, and worth planning an hour or so to see.
