Garst Mill park is tucked away in Roanoke county. Its a linear park with a serene walking paved trail that is 1 mile mostly flat, out and back that follows the creek. Ample parking. Great playground that always has some kids with new equipment and a little library. Recently resurfaced basketball and tennis courts. Picnic shelter and restrooms. Great peaceful park for an easy walk.

This small park provides a scenic little break if in the cave spring area. It is Norman Rockwell quaint with children playing in the creek, folks walking their dogs, kids playing in the playground and learning to ride bikes on the g reenway...a basketball court and a not so busy tennis court. Isolated enough that occasionally you can see deer, groundhogs and bluebirds there..

Ive been taking my kids there for years and years. Its also a great place to walk. It has a half mile trail up and back. Garst Creek is very nice.

My little boys and I love this park! The playground, the greenway, the creek - lots of fun to be had. The bathroom really needed some attention last time we went, but we avoid using public ones when we can anyways.

Beautiful park, well kept and clean. I like that they offer bags for dog waste pickup. I wish more people would adhere to the leash law but I understand that some dogs are very well behaved off leash. The little cut through to the creek is nice and my dog really enjoys her trips to GMP.

This used to be a wonderful park. It has now updated equipment and a nice walking path along the creek. But you know that gut feeling you get when you walk that you are being watched? Or something bad is about to happen? Well it is. Its NOT a safe area any longer to walk with your stroller or alone with your dog. The Village apartments marks this place as its PRIVATE PARK! Crime has gone up here. Muggings car break ins and all! I do not feel safe here any longer with the section 8 housing just a few steps away. Be aware.

Great play area for 4 to around 10 yrs equipment says 5-12 yrs, mine are 3 and under so I have to stay beside them, gets a little busy but overall nice

Lovely creekside park.

This well-maintained park is one of the main reasons I chose to live nearby. The sound of the rushing water in the creek creates a peaceful and relaxing experience while walking the trail. Amenities include a covered picnic shelter, tennis and basketball courts, restrooms, and a playground.

Fun! Cool park equipment. You will see some weird folks wandering around sometimes but thats ok! Adds to the experience.

Nice walking trail for dogs

Great place for walking or having a picnic. Also has a basketball court and a tennis court. It used to have 2 baseball/softball fields but they were heavily damaged by the 2 floods in 2018.One of the fields would make a great dog park.

Usually walk in the evenings 4 miles just going back and forth theres a basketball court tennis court two Bridges water running underneath people walking dogs or people riding their bikes for people jogging every once in awhile beers will come out and nibble at the tree leaves so theres a lot of nature plus nice flowers at the end of the walking trail near the property brick wall if the other end of the park also there benches you can stop and rest in the shade very nice park

Plenty of wooded areas as well as a long biking/walking trail from the park into a local neighborhood. Youll find swings and climbing equipment for small kids and ample open areas near the creek for playing frisbie or catch with a football

It is welcome to people and dogs alike. It has a walking path and a creek adds to the relaxing sounds of nature.

Meh.. But Im clearly spoiled from the other places I have lived. Roanoke isnt huge on parks. Very few. Dinky... That being said.. Since everything is relative. Its a pretty good park for the area... And of course you have to drive a bit to get to the next closest one.. A bit small. Floods super bad during storms. Has large-ish fields no one uses. Im thinking of flying RC here, but Im not sure yet if you guys have rules about that. VA isnt big on freedom. The stream is nice and there is usually a spot or two just big enough for my husky to swim barely. I go often and have only run into shady people a few times.. So its probably safe enough for most people. Lots of people seem to just hang out in their cars here which I find odd... But Im always having culture shock here so probably is nothing. Please clean up after your dog. It makes us good pet owners look bad.

Very nice park except for the packs of wild jungle cats. Our car was mauled by tigers, but the creek and playground were awesome. My children did feel a little sad for the four year old boy with the seventy year old dad who was wearing a polo shirt with the collar up. Otherwise an excellent time had by all.

Beautiful Park with an interesting walking path, a bridge over egg gurgling stream and a large selection tree types and grasses. The park is very clean and well-kept.

Ive been visiting here since I was a child and I have many memories here. Theres almost no negatives to this place besides the public restroom always out of order or closed. That said, I hope to one day bring my children here to play eat and have fun.

It was a great place to do a Birthday party. But the shelter needs some work. It would be nice if there was shelter closure to the park for children to play.

Great small park with playground, basketball court, and a short greenway to walk on (extremely short unless you keep going out of the park). The best part is the slow moving, small creek through the middle of the park with bridges over it, its always a hit with kids to play by the water, and there isnt any real danger if they fall in.

The landscaping could use a bit less toes but its a nice stream.

We miss the monkey bars. Was the only thing there for older children. Mainly a dog park now.

Garst creek runs through here and there are lots of spots where you can get to the water to play. Great place for some outdoor time with the kids.
