Michael Robles promised me and many other parents a refund of the travel deposit clear up through the middle of August. Our team did not attend any out of state tournaments. All the major tournaments refunded Rocky Select their tournament fees due to COVID cancellations.. Come to find out, instead of issuing the $875 travel deposit for out of town tournaments that he personally promised, the ownership closed down Rocky Select and opened up a new club called Rocky Elite. I was then informed by Crystal that Rocky Elite will not honor the refunds due by Rocky Select but will give us a credit if we sign with Rocky Elite or use for open gyms and clinics.. I will bet that these non refunded fees, not returned to all the girls that did not travel, add up to well over $50K. We will not be back to Rocky this year. From the Rocky Select/Elite mission statement: The players who participate within our program will also learn the benefits of teamwork, self-discipline, personal responsibility, the setting of high standards, and the joy of achievement. After all the phone calls and emails full of lies, the only thing this club can honestly promote is how to get ahead with dishonesty, deception and greed. Enjoy your $875 deposit Michael Robles.

My daughter played for Rocky Select this past season, she was a starter and played all the time and played well might I add. So our issue isn’t playing time or primarily coaching, this club was just not the right fit for us. As many parents know, there are numerous variables that impact how a girl thrives in a club emotionally, mentally, and athletically. Given that statement, I am not going to say a girl or family should not consider Rocky Select. However, Rocky Select has done a poor job reacting to the pandemic financially. I get it, this pandemic caught everyone off guard. But as I have spoken with parents at other local clubs, they appeared to do right by their girls and their families financially. Case in point, I know of two clubs who have reimbursed families of returning players with credits of at least $700 towards training, open gyms, future deposits, etc. For families not returning there has been a refund of the same amount or more based on canceled travel tournaments and travel fees not used due to canceled tournaments. We are not returning to Rocky Select and will be signing with another club. I have reached out to Rocky Select several times asking for a refund because we are not returning, but they refuse to respond. I believe this to be completely unprofessional and unethical. We are not seeking reimbursement for tuition, but rather the portion of money we paid that they received back from tournament organizations and for travel fees for travel that was not used because of the canceled tournaments. Of the three out of state tournaments we had scheduled we only attended one (not including Crossroads which was canceled – week 2).

This is my daughters first year with Rocky Select and only her second year playing League Volleyball. My daughter was skeptical when she first tried out as they are a big organization who have many talented young players. She tried out and after reviewing her strengths and weakness over only a few days she was perfectly placed on their 16 regional team. Since then I am extremely impressed with the overall organization and professionalism of Rocky Select. My daughter has had coaching advice from almost all of the coaches. Her team coach is amazing and her teammates all get along. This organization has a zero tolerance for any players leaving each other out, they have team building which helps them build their bond on and off the court and they all respect one another. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with the mission and values of Rocky Select. My daughter is a freshman in high school and we will definitely be keeping her with Rocky Select until she graduates. I trust that by the time she is off to college she will have learned all she needs in hopes to play at a college level.

This is our first club season with Rocky select (Northern Colorado). Our daughters team has only seven players total. Team practices are not mandatory as long as players make up the practices they miss at a time and date that is convenient for them with another team on the same club. Consiqently all seven teammates have only practiced together twice so far this season. Our assistant coach coachs for another team in the same club and consiqently is not present for our first power. We are paying the highest club fees of any club in Northern Colorado for what appears to be a somewhat unorganized, unprofessional, and uncompetitive club volleyball experience so far.

I was a player at rocky select and I do not recommend going here to play club volleyball. I was on 14 black and got injured before the season started at a rocky select open gym. I was not expected to come back during the season. My parents set up a meeting twice with the owner ,Michael, and my coach, Hutch, but they didnt show both times. I came back one and a half months before the season was over. I was fully recovered. I came back to a coach that was nothing but rude and told my team that we sucked and girls that were petty and rude because I was new. I would come home from practice not wanting to play volleyball anymore. Also my team made nationals and my parents asked my coach if I was going to play because I was ready and had enough skills and he said yes. The first day at nationals my coach played me one rotation the whole entire day when we were loosing 25 to 3. After that my dad went up to Michael and Hutch and asked them if they were going to play me at all and they said no. Nobody that I talked to (from any team) wanted to come back to rocky. If you want a dependable club that doesnt take all of your money I would NOT recommend Rocky Select.

I have played at Rocky since it first became a club my 14s year. I continued to play for 5 more years & loved every second of it. My teammates were amazing every year & my coaches helped develop me into a college level player. One of the club directors, Tony Knight, helped me get a full-ride to play at a division 2 school on the East Coast. I highly recommend going to this club & if you play your cards right it can become a home not just where you play volleyball.

This is our first year with Rocky Select. Our daughter is on the 18 Black team. We were not going to play Club this year after playing for the last 6 years! After a 20 minute session with Coach Tony, we decided to continue. Coach Tony really validated all the hard work our daughter has put in over the years. He immediately set up the Sports Recruit page for us and even contacted a college coach for us. Turns out, our daughter might be committing to that school/coach before even playing a game with the club! ( full ride!) We also drive over 2 hours to get to training. Tony, Michael and Coach Jackie are willing to work with our daughters school schedule to ensure that she will get the training she needs this season.Thank You!

I would 10/10 not recommend not coming to this club unless you want your child to be depressed and come home crying every night. one of the owners is one of the worst owners there and doesn’t run a business like it should be run. the coachs do nothing but sit around and walk out on practices in the middle of them. the girls there are rude from my experiences and don’t treat eachother like a team should treat eachother. wouldn’t recommend going here or signing your kid up to play club here.
