This is the third time THIS WEEK Ive seen ppl walking around with their face half way covered. There are no staff members walking around making sure ppl are abiding by the CDC guidelines. Ive already made mention to a staff member once. I had to cut my workout short because SIX PEOPLE today were walking around half exposed. One person completely had their mask off just lounging on the floor. It took forever for the gym to reopen and the facility is allowing ppl to workout half covered or completely masked off. FIX IT!!!!!!

This is a great, modern and health-focused gym. The price is affordable considering all the amenities they have to offer. There’s plenty of equipment for everyone even when it’s at its busiest. With dedicated trainers, nursing staff and challenging classes I’ve been able to lose 100 pounds and still going strong.

Very rude and unprofessional i left there feeling belittled and embarrassed . i have been a member for 7 years and i have had problems with making payments in the past but would go back and was always treated fair and was able to fix my problem and get my membership back up and running up until this past week i recently had to fix my account again so i went in to make a payment and see what else needed to be done thats when i was treated for unprofessionaly and poorly by being told very rudely in front of the whole lobby that i needed to leave and i had been terminated the day before.

The customer service here is really terrible I came in to join as a member and was given a price I then left to pay with my credit card because I was told I can do it over the phone continued to call there was not a response. came back and then was told the price had changed. alsoThe sales rep had me waiting for over 20 min while he conversates with his co workers. I was told that they want to make sure the I was a good fit for there gym as there gym should be a good fit for me. I was confused about that statement. The people there seemed to be very rude I do not recommend this gym to any one well maybe if your a trump supporter.

Vey Unprofessional and rude staff, membership signup process was confusing, no plan descriptions were provided all was focused on agreeing to the highest membership fees possible that were scribbled by staff member on piece of paper and once I decided the membership fees are ridiculously high, as I was about to walk out, manager was brought in to convince me to higher fees. The atmosphere was intimidating and felt like negotiating with a car dealer. I was told that gym is there to make money and anything that was said on the phone before getting you in the door was a prop.Rude and angry staff, if you asked questions or needed clarification.I would have joined if verified fees and plan description were provided in a written document. Please stay away, and join another gym.

I love this facility. Its less crowded than other gyms and has a GREAT Aquatics Center. I had surgery this summer and heavily use the hot tub and pool. The only drawback is membership. I would strongly suggest joining at another facility. The prices I was quoted for membership were ridiculous. I went to another location and got a much more reasonable rate and jumped on it. You can use all locations regardless of where you join. There is also a really good place to eat there called Lettuce Eat. Their prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

I absolutely love this Gym.. the equipment and facility is always clean. I haven’t attended any of the Classes yet but I hear they’re great and are included in my membership. I love the pool which always has open lanes because the gym is not overly crowded. I haven’t had any issues with the staff.. if anything, they’re very friendly and professional..

The facility itself is great. I had the worst experience with the Management. Basically I had signed up as a family account for me and my wife. We had moved out of NJ in Dec 2015. As per RWJ, I filled up a termination form in Nov 2015. What they didnt tell me is to fill separate termination form for my wife. They kept charging the credit card every month. I noticed that after 3 months while reviewing credit card statement. I called them and explained I have already moved out. They wont believe me. Then I sent a certified postal letter from my new address. After that they terminated my wifes account. BUT STILL CHARGED FOR 2 MORE MONTHS after that, stating its policy! This is not FAIR for a reputed company like RWJ to extract money when it is clearly evident that I had moved out. Also, even though me and my wife account was joint, they never told me to submit separate termination application! If there is negative rating, I would give that to the Managers there!!!

I have belonged to a few other gyms from CO to WA to here, and this is by far the nicest one I have ever seen. It is super-large but not crowded, and is positively immaculate throughout. Add to that they have child care, a healthy food spot, individual tvs on equipment, pool/spa/sauna, a health-oriented approach, many varied classes - just to name a few great features. The only down-side I see is that weekend hours are shorted than weekday hours.

I have been a member since July of 2014. I really love to work out at this facility. The pool is great, lots of equipment, and a variety of classes. What I absolutely love the most is that it is very clean. They have staff there at all times cleaning the bathrooms. This is the only gym where I have actually felt comfortable taking a shower. The staff is also very friendly. Keep up the good work!

I been coming here for sometime I say they could update the gear and do a little better since Im sure they are killing with what they make in profit here because of the fees to be a member are about $65 a month but the people that work here are friendly and everything is so clean when you finish with the machine someone is already cleaning behind you so I love that and the space is nice I guess since I go in the mornings its always such a great workout and great people worth the money ..... you could also swim :D I actually dont use the pool I just love how the option is there if I want to

Horrible customer service. Came to close my account on the 4th of the month (have not used the facility at all for the previous month) and asked if I could please not be charged for the entire month since the it was just starting. I Explained that we were moving due to a personal family emergency at which they asked for proof. Process took over a half hour, wasted my time and made me go through a humiliation of explaining myself only to end up NOT to crediting me back for the upcoming month. Thanks Mr. GM with no authority Tom. They have a 30 day cancelation policy I get it, but where is the compassion and personal courtesy for a long time member?A couple of hours later I received a call from the facility asking if I would be interested in using their second location... umm seriously? Even if they were the last gym on earth, they would not get my business again! And why wasn’t that option offered to me when I was closing out the account GM Tom? Your only concern was to take the extra $120 (my husband and I) before closing out the accounts.

I visited this place hoping to get know the prices and see if it fits my needs. But this is not your regular gym where they will tell you about things right away.FIRST you have to wait and take an appointment with so called fitness coach.SECOND they will take all ur medial stuff (which seem to be waste of time).THIRD there will be a tour around the place., which is a nice with good equipment. The joy ends when u hear the expensive deposit and monthly fee of $50-$70 (Deposit upto $300) . There is crunch fitness very close by for $10 a month and has all the stuff u need.

Great place to work out! Has a large assortment of machines, and a lot of the cardio machines have TVs on them. Rarely does it get crowded. Large swimming pool, small heated pool, sauna, and jacuzzi are available. Many classes and group workouts, and there is a nursery for young kids. Free nurse checkup and trainer advice every few months. Very friendly staff. Building looks modern inside and out, although time will tell if it lasts. Be forewarned, when signing up for scuba lessons or similar classes, they may not be on-site, make sure you read the fine print!

They do not have very good customer service or customer recovery. At first things were good, until you visit on a more frequent basis. The trainer I had was good socially making me feel comfortable, but he would be on his cell phone a lot, overbook appointments and didnt show up to an appointment to name a few. We had scheduling issues and ultimately the people who solve membership problems were no help. Their company issues like terminations, quitting and accounts were gym gossip. The Carteret facility is not worth the hassle. At least try Hackensack. You may get your moneys worth.

Beautiful facility. I want to start with that. BUT the super high pressure sales tactics, and the shady games played on the price were a massive turn off. I felt like I was at a used care dealership. Since they refuse to publish rates, or let us walk out with their rates I figured I would help some people out.Option 1 $479 sign up fee and $48Option 2 $319 $59This includes a personal trainer assessment, most classes, every 6 week meeting with a personal trainer and some nurse measuring you thingy. The sign fee is ridiculous, but the monthly rates are surprisingly low. The whole experience though was so off-putting with the Hard Sell I wont be signing up.

Been going there since they opened in 2011. The place is ok, i suppose. Except for Kevin Burch, the staff gives 2 craps about you or your time there. The child care is great, however. The night shift must not do much because most 5am mornings the hand wipes are always empty. One would think they should be filled for the morning crew but who wants to do that? But it really doesnt matter because most members dont bother using them no matter how much they sweat all over the machine. At least once per month they dont open on time and they use every excuse why it didnt open. Then you ask the GM Suzanne why they cant open 10-15 minutes early and she says for liability reasons. Meanwhile every snow storm the parking lot is a complete embarrassment and shocked someone hasnt hurt themselves. So whats more a liability opening at 4:50 am or lack of snow removal? Suzanne has no clue how to run this joint. The amount of cell phone use in mind boggling. There are some members i could just point out who spend over an hour there but 50 minutes is spent facebooking or texting. Its annoying. Thy sit on machines for 15 minutes with zero activity except with their thumbs laughing and giggling like school children with some other lazy trash at the other end of the text. Then we have the alpha males why walk around like theyre 64 meanwhile theye under 55 with zero muscles. Puffing out the chest like their somebody. Most huff and puff walking up stairs and should probably work on their cardio then lifting weights. Last but not least, most of the members are from other worlds who barely shower and stink to the high heavens. No english required. Just my opinion

RWJ is a great facility and I have been a member for almost a year despite the ridiculous monthly membership fee. The staff is super friendly and the cleaning crew is doing an amazing job and most of all the trainers are super friendly and always willing to help if you have questions. The gym does not get overcrowded so you never have to wait for machines. HOWEVER, the equipment is VERY limited and some of the most basic equipment is missing i.e. standing calf-raises, natural motion smith machine, better lat pull machine etc. They have wasted money and space on these gimmicky air pressure machines and rope pulley machines, which no one really uses. For the fee they charge($1,055 per year), I expected much more equipment and place it in an organized manner(a section for a body part) instead of all over the place and the management seems aloof to all of this. They need to improve their equipment and decrease the cost, because Carteret is a surrounded by low income housing and people can’t afford the high cost to improve their physical health due to the high cost, personally I don’t think they know their clientele, because Carteret has double the poverty rate compared to NJ average of 6.5% and a median household income which is around $17,000 less than NJ average. Gym’s like WOW charge $20-$30/month with little or no signup fee and offer ample equipment and don’t waste money or space on yuppie or gimmicky equipment. Now you might ask why am I a still a member, its less than one minute from my house, but I am considering going back to WOW to save money and the diversity of equipment.
