DO NOT PLAY HERE. This is literally my first review of anything and I have to let others know. This is by far the worst golf course I have EVER played at. $45 to play here on a weekend and $37 to play during the week? I wouldn’t even consider playing here for $10. Tee boxes are iffy, greens are okay, but there is literally ZERO grass in any fairway 1-18. They need to shut this place down to renovate because I cannot see how anyone would want to return here after they play here. Just posting in hopes that someone might read this and that I might sway at least one person not to play here. AVOID THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE OF A COURSE.

This is the worst course I’ve ever played hands down. They should be paying you to play here. Dirt and rock fairways, bird dens and gopher holes make up 99% of the course. In fact, the only grass is the actual green and maybe the surrounding 30ft. Oh, and if you’re counting on a cart girl for copious amounts of boos to help you forget where you’re playing they don’t exist. You couldn’t even pay a homeless person to sleep here with all the vermin holes and the current state of the course. Don’t waste your time or money!!!

Played 18 here over the weekend and was baffled that this place is even open. There is NO GRASS ??? Its like playing on Mars (without the gravity assist). Also zero singage on the holes and between, so if youve never been, plan on walking around a bit trying to find where the next hole is. There is no price worth ever returning here, unless they start PAYING people to come roll around in the scorched earth that they call a links course.

I played yesterday 18 holes after work Tuesday September 15th 2020 at 4pm with my friend Oscar. I usually play this course 3 times a year & it keeps getting worse by the year. The good was that we finished all 18 holes rushing to beat the night lol. Great Greens.. The bad were, but where do I start ? Lol : Very poorly maintained fairways, no 50 mark red stake, nor 100 mark white stake, or no 200 mark blue stake. They do have the steel plates markings on the grounds but hard to see, & you must drive or walk to the middle of the fairways to see them. Some fairways have golfers holes everywhere, It took me 15 minutes to dig out some of my Tee shots.Kind of pricey for the condition of this LA county golf course. Please add stakes to all par 4 & par 5 holes so we can see them easier bcz not everybody has enough money to buy those expensive Bushnell golf ball finders. I asked the guy at the register to give us senior discounts since we are over 57, but refused to give it to us.

Used to be a great place to practice after work when they had you line up when the range was full. Now they just tell you to line up behind any golfer you think may finish sooner. Then when you are practicing people stand behind you waiting until you finish???? Welcome to the time before people stood in lines.

If you could give negative stars I would. This course is a dirt patch with holes scattered. It’s in terrible condition, the greens are decent but trying to play a second shot from dirt with hardly any grass to be seen makes for a frustrating round. The bunkers are full of rocks and not even raked before the first round of the day. Save your time and money, go elsewhere. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE.

I am an average, avid golfer, 25 handicap. Here is my review (during the COVID-19 limited conditions):Affordable, not too crowded, well-maintained driving range. On the course, the tee boxes are acceptable, and the greens, which are rather large, are well-maintained and above average. Most fairways are 25% grass that you can comfortably hit off, while the rest is a combination of hard packed dirt, mud, weeds, and creeping clover. Trees are scrawny, but seldom serve as obstacles. We did not play the traps, which when in use, must be rather tough. This course does play like a links course in England, because the wind is an issue on almost every hole, and the course has a lot of natural floral (grasses and bushes) coverage on the sides of the fairways, which makes it difficult to find your ball on an errant shot. Take a look at a satellite image of the course before you go ,so you wont be shocked by the state its in. My understanding is that staff is working on improving the condition of the fairways.

First time playing the course today. The conditions were horrible. There is huge dried dirt patches everywhere and the grass is all dried up. Definitely not worth the 45 dollars they charge. The GM stated they werent investing money into the course due to upcoming improvements but would have been nice to know before we started or at least lower the price. The GM did take care of my group. But overall not worth it go somewhere else.

This place is pretty bad but I guess you get what you pay for. It was 35 dollars for 18 holes with a cart. The fairway was nothing but dirt, sand and weeds with gopher holes EVERYWHERE. There were no signs saying which way was the next hole. I had to drive around to figure out where I needed to go. I almost skipped 14 and 15 because I got tired of looking for where to go. The sand traps were not sand either. They seemed like compacted dirt that were almost as hard as concrete. I decided not to keep score this round because I kept moving my ball onto patches of weeds so I wouldnt mess up my clubs. Horrible place to play. Never going back and I DO NOT recommend.

Yesterday my wife, son and myself played the Links at Victoria in Carson. It was the worst course weve ever seen. There were so many gopher holes it was like playing on Swiss cheese. Every hole had more dirt that grass. The dirt was so hard you couldnt even hit off of it. We will never play there again. Dont waist your money. Its sad that they charge that much for such a terrible course. We wouldnt even play there if it was free.

Worst golf course that I have even been to. The only thing that was green were the greens. The only green that was on the fairways were weeds. They need to close this place for at least a year to grow the grass back. Not only all dirt golfer holes everywhere. You need a 4 x 4 golf cart.

Terrible service, called the golf course and booked a tee time but when I showed up, they didnt have my tee time. After waiting an hour and getting on the course, all I saw were dry hard dirt patches where the fairway was supposed to be. It looked as though the course has not been watered in years. Tee boxes are very bad, the green is very slow and in bad condition. I will never be coming back to this golf course. I would not recommend this course to anyone looking for decent golf.

Always fast not a lot of wait can get on the course no problem6. If you want to get better this is the courseCon’s1. Fairways are OK, I’ve seen worst. If you are a beginner you will hate it. But once you get to understand the course it becomes exciting.SummaryThe course is great. If you know what you’re doing and you not taking slobs shots you will like it. If you ball lands on the dirt find a grass patch and play it from there. Have fun and go golf! “ I’d rather go golfing “

Warning! Do not play golf at this Links at Victoria! Hardly a links course. Its a dog run! What a joke of a course. Your playing on dirt! I mean straight up dirt! Par 5 hit it 280yds in the middle of the fairway and your ball is sitting on packed dirt. Talk about a tight lie! Its not golf, its a joke of a course. Practice facility was fine. Greens are well maintained. However, the greens do not match the carpet. Simply put, the fairways needed water and now its too late, its destroyed! Absolute worst of the worst! Ive never seen anything like it. I encourage you to visit and write a review yourself. Add to what I am writing my experience. Hopefully if things get bad enough. People wont come because right now. The ratings are a 4 stars! Lies fellow golfers, lies! I hope to read what others think about this place in the coming future. For now, here are a couple of pics for you all to zoom in for yourselves! Needless to say we left and played at another golf course. Dont waste your time and money. I hope this helps you fellow golfers to steer away from this horror of a course!

Lets take the good and the bad about this course. The goodThe people, workers crew and fellow golfers are friendly. The driving range has a program where you can get 3 large buckets a day for practice. You also get a free cart after 1 with the program. The chipping practice greens are in good shape. The putting greens are in good shape, better than most greens in the area. They have great PGA pros for lessons. The first tee program for kids to learn golf.Pace of play fastPractice rounds where you can hit and learn different shots. Can you hit a 5 iron off of hard pan?You score here you can score anywhere. The layout is awesome, you deal with wind in the afternoon on the back 9.The BADFairways are hard dirt and grassRange balls could be better as of late I have seen newer balls being being added. To sum it up if you need a practice track this is it. If your looking for a pristine course go elsewhere. All in all I have learned shots that I can take anywhere.

Toxic landfill closed in the 50s. No regulation for dumping. Besides methane gas throughout the course. Lead and arsenic in soils. Maintenance is not allowed to dig in soil below 6 inches. A hazardous material team has to be contracted. Long term Irrigation employee died of cancer 42 years old . Hands severely infected from digging in soil. THATS WHY THERE IS NO GRASS IN THE FAIRWAYS. Latest aerial view of course. If you have someone you dont care for . Recomend this course. Look at other pictures posted. You would need to be desperate. To play this goat track. No a goat track is in better condition. Not the operators fault or employees. They are just trying to keep a job. To take care of their familys. But they should go somewhere else. Soil condition and health is public knowledge. Ask for a copy of soils and health risk . Reports .

Review №26

I don’t want to sound hyperbolic, but good lord this was hands down the worst course I have ever played in Southern California. Driving range looked to be in decent shape, but I went to play 18. This is not an exaggeration, there is more dirt on the fairways than grass, A LOT more dirt. You’d ping one right out to the center of the fairway, and you’re on a patch of dirt. I refused to ruin my clubs, so I’d pick my ball up, and have to search for one of the few patches of grass on the course, which is no way to play a round. Greens are probably a 5/10, but doesn’t make up for the fairways which are a -10/10. There doesn’t seem to be any movement to improve the course so just do yourself a favor and save your money or go strictly to practice. You’re better off driving a ways away to literally any other municipal course in so cal. The people in charge of this place should sell immediately to new owners, or they just need to shut the course down completely. Worst $50 I’ve ever spent.

For $47 a round Id expect a lot more. The only spots that had decent grass were the tee box and greens. Outside that, the fairways are basically nothing but dirt. No joke, the entire course is probably 85% dirt. The sand traps are hard and have rocks in them. The entire grounds need serious work. Dead brush everywhere. One cigar smoking player could light the whole place up by accident. They need to shut down for a couple months and rebuild. Then it will be worth it. Ive played at courses way nicer for half the cost.

Theyve made a few improvements, a little walk to the driving range. Bring your own rubber tee because you may have read they dont provide them (people steal, not their fault). They will sell them to you at the pro shop if you forget. The course itself is not great, its right next to the freeway, and youll catch a whiff of the agricultural chemicals used nearby if the wind blows right. I prefer to use the range and practice areas and play elsewhere, but its not a bad course for the price and location. Dont forget to enjoy the park while there.

The pictures that they have posted on their website is not like the course. This is false advertising. We paid $40.00 per person.
