The 2 stars is not for the park itself; but rather the sketchy location of the park. Recently, if you keep up with Carol Stream news, the park was severely vandalized costing about $20,000 in damages. The location is by ‘affordable housing’. And a variety of at-risk youth hang out at this park. It’s not the safest location for such an amazing park. If only this park was in a better location, I would give it 5 stars. If they changed the location l, I assure you this park wouldn’t get vandalized and destroyed.

I go here a few times a week to walk my dog, but a lot of people ride their bikes through it, partly because it connects to Mitchell Lakes and Veterans Park behind the Village Center. Armstrong is nicely paved with lots of Great Blue Heron, Great Egrets, and Mallard ducks in the mini-marshes on its south side. It has sand volleyball, basketball courts, baseball fields, and two playgrounds.

Hot, no shade trees where we were allowed to sit. 2pm game. It was hot, hot. I walked around to shade when my grandson hit and pitched. Finally someone offered me an umbrella. The park itself is nice. Just need more shade, sorry not sorry.

Well taken care of, good drainage for rain days and lights at night. The maintenance crew are always very attentive and in time. Parking is a little far but field quality makes up the walk and worth every step.

Was much better when the Aldrin center and lake George was there. I especially feel sorry for the people who live around there and had a nice view of a pretty lake. Now they stare at a big garbage looking hill with nasty storm water.

Like the playground in the middle of the fields for siblings. The fields are in good shape and appropriate for Youth Baseball. Only complaint everyone seems to have is the long walk from any place to park to the field. Especially carrying sometimes heavy sports equipment

They did a great job of making the park a working park dispite the water manegment problems. Its a great walking park with many different levels of walking from difficult to easy. I do miss the larger pond we use to have. But i understand the water issues you had to correct. It also has 3 great playgrounds for different age groups.

I live a few blocks away and walk my dog thru the park daily. Park has gone thru some updating recently consisting of... new asphalt walkways ( some with new lighting), new upper ball field, new upper play area (removed the old castle park), new bathroom facilities and drainage improvements meant to relieve the surrounding area from heavy rains. The park is busy during the spring, summer and fall with baseball, basketball and families. Nice park next to library and schools. The park district could have installed more lighting along the walkways for night time walking or running. Otherwise nice community park...
