I got to work with Michael the beginning of November. He did a tree line scene around my lower arm and absolutely nailed it! The detail is perfect and he was so easy to work with. It looks better than anything I had hoped for. This is by far my favorite tattoo! I will definitely be going back to him for any future work I have done.

This new studio is amazing. It is clean with a great waiting area, small art gallery, and tattooing cubes. Michael is a fantastic artist. He puts a lot of effort into designing pieces the way you want them. He makes sure youre comfortable during the session, and is very professional. We mesh well, he understands I like to put in headphones and zone out and is fine with that. This whole piece was about 2 sessions of 2.5 hours each - which is incredible for the level of detail.This was my third time being tattooed by Mike - definitely not last time. I followed him from his old shop because of the quality of his work. Id highly recommend him!

A few weeks ago, I had a negative experience and posted about it on this review. Michael and Matt immediately reached out to me, despite the fact it was a Friday night, and worked as best they could to correct the experience I had. They validated me and went back over my tattoo free of additional charge. I would trust both Matt and Michael with my body, and I’m grateful to them. Ive been getting tattoos from the artist Mike since I was 18 and is the only artist I go to to get tattoos. I have two so far and plan to get my third in November and cant wait. Mike is an artist who creates amazing work and designs and I love showing off my tattoos to people and telling them where I got them. Mike is very professional, passionate, friendly, and helpful when it comes to tattoos. Not just only while getting the tattoo but also the aftercare process and helping to make sure your tattoos heal and turn out looking great. If youre thinking about getting a tattoo here from one of the artists, then I can definitely say youve made the right choice.

I have had several tattoos done by Michael Hockman, and just got another one last week in his new shop. The shop is clean, cool, and easy access in Carmel. I cannot say enough great things about Mike. He is so talented and takes great pride in his art. I love that all of my tattoos are originals that he has created, and not just a copy of a tattoo. My artist was Michael! He is very professional and I appreciated that he made sure I was happy with the design! Michael is definitely my go to artist, and I can not wait to add more pieces by him! Amazing business! Went to 5 different artists and was turned away before I was referred to Matt a while back. His portfolio was super impressive when I went to have our consultation to say the least so I felt like he had the skill to get me right. I wanted a specific design that was very difficult. Michael is an amazing tattoo artist! He’s done 5 of my tattoos and each of them turned out exactly how I wanted. He is professional & also a blast to be around during sessions. I live in DC now and still come back to Indy for my tattoos so that Michael can do them for me!

Michael did not work out in a regretable way. He may have the skill to tattoo, but he is lacking in other areas. Its my belief that many of the people praising him do so because its awkward to speak negatively about a tattoo on your body. The work is not to the calibre where customers should have to deal with arrogance.He did not appreciate when I asked for session details. Last session it felt like he had no plan going in. He presented nothing. Ended up paying for an hour of design ($150/hr). I never agreed to that, nor was it ever mentioned. Michael is lacking the professionalism required to keep me coming back. I brought up my concerns and he took no ownership. Not the character he first appeared to be when I began a large piece with him a year or so ago. This was not the outcome I wanted. Id recommend working with Matt. Michael takes a deep dive when it comes maintaining his attention to complete larger and long lasting pieces. For a former Soldier, its a surprising characteristic.Michael was displeased with my review and messaged me about it. I disliked how he stated how polite he was being while vaguely threatening my review.Over Quarantine (July/June timeframe), Michael held a raffle $100/ticket (I bought two) and he never announced the results. I asked him about it and he seemed to avoid responding or giving a clear answer. Even went to a session after it had ended, still he didnt mention results. This shady behavior also encouraged me to be persistent when I asked him for session details. I dont like the thought that Michael was avoiding an answer due to some dubious reason.As he continues to deny and accuse I will update this review. Thats the primary context in which I make edits. I truly have better things to do than this, but it irks me to be apart of a dramatic scenario Michael has created.

My friend had been trying to get me to come here and I finally did. It was a let down. The art work gallery was the best part, but the tattoo art was lack luster. Cant believe people would pay what theyre asking. Save your money and travel to a place thats worth $150 an hour or more. My girlfriend also had a negative experience with one of the tattoo artists where he just shot her ideas down the whole time, telling her they werent realistic.

Mike Hockman has been tattooing me for 3 years. He is professional, creative, and not afraid to take his time to capture every detail of the tattoo. Outside of his professional tattooing, he is a GREAT artist. If you have a general idea of what you want, but don’t know where you want to go with it, he is able to use his creativity and artistic skills to draw up the design. Michael and Matt are two of the most professional tattoo artists Ive come across! Before they opened Forever Gallery together I had the privilege to hangout with them for over a year at their former parlor whilst getting my sleeve done. Mike has always been my artist personally so Ill mainly write this review about him, but I can promise you that both these guys can and WILL get the job done.I think the most important aspects of the artist-client relationship is collaboration and comfortability. You want your artist to understand your view on a piece but you also want them to give you their professional opinion before making it permanent. You also want to trust your artist, to know that they want the very best out of your artwork. I came to Mike with some ideas for a sleeve, not really knowing what path it would end up taking and it was amazing to be able to collab with someone who had all the right insight while still maintaining the ideas that I desired. In one year we finished my entire colorful sleeve and I couldnt be more satisfied!Cleanliness is another extremely important factor with tattoos and let me tell you, it feels like being in a luxury hospital with these guys. Everything is fresh, sterile, and their workspaces are completely spotless while still sporting their personal decor. Ive been to a few tattoo parlors and none came anywhere close to how clean these guys are. Plus Mike always has new tattoo-friendly creams and soaps every time you show up so you know hes trying to give you the absolute best experience possible!Lastly, before I sign off on this review, I want to mention their personalities. I dont think Ive ever had more fun being in pain than when these guys are chatting it up in the booths. It may take a few sessions to get comfortable with someone new, as with any interaction, but once youre in its like being amongst your best friends. On the opposite side of that, if youre not into conversation, these guys will not mess with your vibe. Theyll check up on you periodically to make sure youre doing alright, or youll have Mike apologizing every five seconds because the elbow isnt a fun place to get tatted lol. Whatever your poison, these guys will work with it. Thats the beauty of it all. These guys will work with your vibe.As far as pricing is concerned, its pretty fair for what youre getting. Sure, you could go to some rinky-dink (cant believe I just typed that) tattoo shop that isnt super clean or 100% professional and spend $100 on something. Or you can live it up in luxury and pay $150 for that same something. I think we all know its worth it to save up and spend that extra $50, and if you didnt know that, you do now!Give these guys a shot at your next piece of artwork! They wont let you down!11/13/20 UPDATE: I am so joyful for Mike and Matt these days as their tattoo parlor is just getting better and better! Their art gallery will blow your mind and you absolutely shouldnt miss it, even if you arent interested in getting tatted up! I actually have booked my own 6 week show next June and Im excited to showcase my own artwork inside this amazing environment. Matt came highly recommend from some friends of mine and boy did he deliver! Not only was he able to correct work from a previous tattoo artist, he also expanded the design and didnt even bat an eye when I said I wanted a necro-phoenix. Were not done yet, but it is looking amazing and the colors are rockin! Ill update this when its complete with photos :) All in all you cant go wrong with Forever Gallery

Michael Hockman is a very talented tattoo artist. He’s also professional. I chose to have a foot and ankle tattoo. I knew it would be painful, however, Michael has a knack of putting people at ease while working on your tattoo. I will be back!
