Honestly review. Came out to San Diego with intentions to play Torrey pines. When I found out it was nearly impossible for me to get a tee time with under a weeks notice even as a solo player, I was almost lost where to go. With so many courses in the area but my heart set on playing on the ocean i came across Aviara Golf Course. Available tee times the day of all over the clock... I am so happy I came here. From the moment I got out of my car to the shop to the cart girls practice range and chipping and putting areas were all unbelievable... and we haven’t even started talking about the course... so beautiful, great design. Unreal scenery... fairways and greens were beautifully kept.. just make sure you leave your ego at the car... this course can get ya!!!!!

Beautiful course, well kept greens with a very friendly pro shop. Tee times are fast and furious and people were nipping at our heels after about 3 holes. Outside of that was a very pleasurable experience and I would definitely go back!

This course was originally constructed with the Four Seasons Residences Flagship and Hotel (now the Park Hyatt Aviara). It is one of the most perfect in the world. You can be assured to golf 365 days per year here. It lies along the Batiquitos Lagoon, which is a protected bird aviary. The clubhouse, the hotel and the course could not be better if you can afford it.

Great course, beautiful grounds, feels private, challenging, a bit pricey but worth it and you can cut costs by playing near twilight.

Aviara is an incredible golfing experience. I played Sunday May 27, 2018 and the course is in immaculate condition. The fairways and greens are plush. We teed off at 7:08 and played in less than four hours.

Came here with a stay and play package. Played two rounds. Very popular golf resort. Conditions were okay, rough was long since it had been raining for a while. Challenging greens. Some holes were pretty nice, but there were too many homes around the golf course. For the price, my expectations were higher!

Really enjoyed my round here. I hear they have a ridiculous landscaping budget and you could tell. It was just incredible golfing the ground of Aviara, a very unique track. This place had minimal imperfections, one of the nicest courses I’ve played to date.

Argyle Steak restaurant at the Aviara Golf Club...off the chart good. Popovers n tomato spread instead of bread n butter. Aged steak, beautiful salad. Every time Im in Carlsbad I will eat here

Beautiful rooms, view, and pleasant staff. Free access and rental clubs at the attached golf course was a huge plus as well!

Beautiful course. Impeccably maintained. Pretty challenging, even from the white tees. Free range balls before you play, and everyone is extremely friendly. The only reason I knocked off a star is the price. Is it really $150 better then the Crossings, or $180 better than Arrowood? Still, its a fantastic course and facility.

Once you arrive the attention the staff provide is amazing. This is the 2nd time Ive played here and both times it was in great condition. Plenty of holes that are picture worthy, pace of play is roughly 4 hours and the restaurant upstairs has great food. Price is on the higher end but its a must play if you in the area

Great golf course. It was well kept and scenic on many holes. Every hole on the course plays differently due to the wind and elevation changes. The greens were in good condition. I had a great time playing here.

Great day at the Kia Classic.

Such breathtaking grounds, the flowers and Jacaranda trees are gorgeous. My husband really enjoyed playing this course after he had played it 20 years ago. Met a really nice couple who we golfed with. Recommend highly.

Fairways are burned a bit due to the recent heat but greens are in nice shape. Pretty golf course. Worth a round if you are an avid golfer.

The Argyle has great food and exceptional service. We go there, for Happy hour, often.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!! The staff are great! Especially the valet guys! They remember you by name! Great customer service. Rooms are nice, Golf is AWESOME!!We stayed there the first time because we wanted to be close to golf and our place wasn’t ready for us at our other place. Ever since the first time, we’ve come back and stay at the Aviara for a week then stay at the Carlsbad Inn. What a difference!

Great facility and golf course. A true garden for golfers.

Playing here was probably the best golf experience Ive had in a long time on a public course. From start to finish, the staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The starter, Jerry, got us going on our round in such a pleasant mood, after giving us a quick rundown of the course ahead, while being the friendliest starter my wife and I have probably ever met. The course was in such great condition, especially since we played just weeks ahead of the LPGA event to be held here. The greens were tricky but definitely rolled really well. Not a terribly difficult course but plays very fun. So many holes could have been signature holes on many other courses. Would love to play here again and will definitely recommend this to everyone in the area

This is the Argyle Steakhouse at the golf course. Always a great meal. They have interesting special food and wine events as well.

You want to play a nice golf course play here.

For the price I expect perfect conditions. The course fairways are long and wet. The greens.... wow in a bad way. 3 greens are punched 3 others have long grass. If you want to pay this price go play Torrey pines.

As good of a public course anywhere!

Always a great experience going to Aviara. First class resort. my only complaint is they charge for parking even if youre there for 1 minute. Other than that everything is five stars.. Great Golf Course by the way and the adult pool is quiet and peaceful with an ocean view. Regular rooms are a bit small but theyre adequate and you can play tennis, walk along with Lagoon, go to the gym, eat good food or just stay in your room and enjoy your partner and room service

Excellent time at Aviara. From being greeted warmly and professionally by Bill and Jenna in the pro shop. Then had format, guidelines and helpful hints from our starter, Joe. Miss Kathy came along in the refreshment cart and couldnt have been more accommodating and courteous. Met the ranger, Tony, and he kindly offered greetings and Tootsie Pops.Obvious in this club that they understand the customer has MANY choices where to spend their money and they do their utmost to make sure we had a very enjoyable day.Not only a gold standard for the golf industry but ANY industry ! Also, course was a beautiful layout and nicely kept. THANKS !

This Hyatt is a real 5-star resort. One of Hyatts best efforts, the grounds are clean, and well maintained. There are many great dining choices on the resort grounds, (be sure to check out the Argyle Grill located at the golf course club house area).The rooms are clean and comfortable, with large beds. This resort also offers Hyatt PURE (Hypo-allergenic) rooms.The staff is the usual great Hyatt staff, being very helpful and friendly.Be sure to check this place out!

Watched the Womens PGA tournament, the course is very challenging with a breath taking landscape.

The course is setup to be ready for LPGA tournament. Even with the heavy rain last 5 days, green is still very very fast. Couple that with long healthy rough, it makes the course very tough.

Bucket list course in Carlsbad. Hilly, canyons, and tough large Greens! Good times

Aviara is one of the best courses in San Diego. The layout is technical but not difficult and playing from the white tees makes it easy to have a relaxing day of golf. All if the fairways and greens were well kept and staff was friendly and helpful. If you want a fun golf experience during your visit to Carlsbad I highly suggest trying this course.

Aviara is at most a 60-dollar-green-fee neighborhood golf course! It was a truly disappointing experience!

Great golf outing. We played 36 holes back to back and it was fantastic. Course is in excellent condition and is challenging but very fair. Some tricky spots that played better the second time through.

A great golf course that has been returning to the best times with better maintenance and facilities due to the fame it is gaining as the home of an LPGA event every spring. The layout is challenging and at the same time very playable for differing levels of ability.Play can be a bit slow due to the recovering popularity of the course.

On a guys only trip to San Diego with no plans to play anywhere, we were lucky enough to stumble on to the Aviara golf course. Loved it so much we played again the next day. Course was fun, and challenging but fair. Service was top-notch from the bag drop to the on course service and restaurant.Aviara will be included on every San Diego area golf vacation from this point forward!

Reflecting the quality of its Park Hyatt Resort parent and the luxury of the neighbouring real estate, Aviara Golf Club, rated 4-1/2 stars, is home to an immaculately presented and wonderfully laid out golf course. The 14th perhaps takes top honours as the most joyful hole on the course.

Beautiful course. Well laid out. Arnold Palmer must have very proud of his design. Tough course, especially the greens, but still enjoyable for the high handicap golfer.

The amenities outweigh the course. If you dont have local knowledge, the course is too tricky. But the bar & staff are great!

Argyl s restaurant rating did not play aviara a little pricey for my budget at $260/round. Have played with he course once and loved it but not enough to ante up the above mentioned rate

Wow. What a let down. We only played here because Torrey Pines was closed for a junior tournament. We were told this was a good substitution. It’s not.First strike: we get there and head to the driving range, to pay $300+ a person and they were forcing us to hit off mats at the range. That’s unacceptable in my book unless it’s a day after heavy rains (it wasn’t).Second strike: the maintenance crew is working the entire day we are on the course. We teed off midday. There’s no reason greenskeepers should be interrupting our round.Third strike: the round was slow, slow, slow. We quit after 15 holes because we had been playing for 4 hours and 10 min. And holes 14 and 15 took us 20+ min a piece. If we had stayed, it would have been a 5 1/2 hour+ round.UPDATE: Course Management called and apologized and refunded $50 per player.

One of the most beautiful golf courses Ive ever seen and I lived in Florida, we attended the LPGA here last weekend. The only downside is it isnt handicap friendly at all, I may be too disabled to play golf, but never thought I would be too disabled to watch it, no ramps to any of the viewing stands or platforms so we had to stay in wet grass. The staff and volunteers were very nice and friendly and the park is clean & organized, just dont understand why so many 4/6 seated golf carts roamed the paths and never assisted us to get to the next hole or viewing area, still scratching my head over that one. lol

Wow. Simply wow! The level of service this hotel offers is leaves no room for doubt that this is a luxury resort. Ive had the pleasure of dealing with people at all levels and nearly all departments of this hotel as both a corporate partner with individual travelers and large groups and as a guest of the hotel for a local stay-cation. The entire team works so seamlessly together and makes you feel like you are the most important person theyve met.As a guest: From the moment you valet your car and hand your bags over to the incredibly sweet bell hop you instantly feel VIP. The lush surroundings and incredible views allow you to escape any worry you may have arrived with. In any of the restaurants you will enjoy fantastic service and delicious food. My favorite is the fresh juice at the California Bistro that is always different and amazing. If you are looking for a cocktail, their lobby bar has old fashioned charm that welcomes you to linger. Then, when you finally wander into your beautiful room, you cant help but appreciate all the little details and impeccable upkeep the resort puts into each room. Fresh and welcoming, its the perfect home away from home.On the corporate side of things: I cannot say enough nice things about how easy it is to work with this team. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help with meetings, dinners, and all sorts of events. Every group I have ever brought in has not stopped raving about the resort. The meetings are executed flawlessly and Gene Smallwood, Associate Director of Sales, always ensures my guests are well taken care of. They are hands down the best resort I have had the pleasure of working with on all levels.

Played a round here with my son, the week before the Kia Classic LPGA event. Course was in amazing shape and the staff were above and beyond helpful and accommodating. One of the best golf experiences Ive ever had.

The fun staff and beautiful weather made this a memorable course. Cart paths lined with fragrant flowers, well maintained fairways & greens, accurate GPS systems, attentive cart girls and made to order sandwiches this place had it all. I will be back! Keep it on the fairway is my only advice.
