Rented the boat for a party of 12. Phoenix was our driver and he was very knowledgeable about the lake. Took us to the nice spots in the lake so we could jump into the water. He also took us to beautiful spot for cliff jumping. Our boat was waiting for us at the boat ramp 5 which was only 12 mins drive from the main location. Since we arrived in the morning there was no hassle in find a parking for our vehicle. I recommend the large group to travel together so avoid parking situations at the boat ramp location. Definitely recommend Canyon Lake Adventures for anyone who want to enjoy and have a great time at the lake.

We booked a double decker pontoon boat and kids had a amazing time at canyon lake. We had no issues with the boat everything worked amazing. The boats do show age and have regular wear and tear because they are rentals. Owners and workers were nice and friendly. I’m recommending them to any friends visiting canyon lake.

This is our second time using Canyon Lake Adventures. They have great boats, but the real value is the experience of their drivers. They can coach you when trying something new or up the game on something youve done for years. I had a blast skiing and as a grown man, I havent had so much fun on a tube in probaby 20 years! Even better, we got to slow it down for the little ones that were scared to tube. They had a huge smile on their face at the end!

Worst place ever ...very poor customer service and the boats are super old.. we had a horrible experience out on the lake. We rented one of the pontoon boats and it started sinking out of nowhere. The weight limit is 17 people and we only had 16 so no reason for the boat to be sinking. When we made the owners aware of it, her response was “nothing is wrong with the boat. water gets inside every boat” She was very rude and didn’t want to pay attention to my concerns. I was actually surprised by her response, being that my friends and I had just witnessed a near death experience. They don’t care about your safety at all. We had to have someone from our party drive the boat last minute since they didn’t inform us we wouldn’t have a driver. While our driver has driving experience, the boat was not in good shape to drive. They didn’t even make the driver take a test prior to driving. They just said “here’s the boat” and we took off. We had a bad feeling about the boat because it wouldn’t turn on right away. No one went over where the life jackets or the anchor was. When the boat was sinking, we had to run and look for them under the seats. The boat is so old that the seats move on their own while ur out driving. Nothing is stable about these company’s boats. I honestly don’t know how the company is still running. To top it off, we found it they rented the same boat out to someone else. I will never rent anything from this place again!!!

Rented tritoon for $850. No trouble renting on line and company accommodating in changing our rental day when forecast turned rainy. Quick check in on day of rental. Boat loaded and ready and pushed into water on time with no issues. Biggest disappointment was condition of the boats interior. All seams ripped and upholstery covered in mold. Looked nothing like pic on line. If we would have had guests other than my immediate family I would have been terribly embarrassed. Even though boat looked like disaster it worked great. Would not rent again just because it looked so gross and spent so much money.

Got a 3 hour jet ski for the family. On time delivery, great equipment and super friendly staff! We will rent again.

Staff was super friendly, the lake was perfect however the double decker was definitely not the one pictured And not worth the $900+ we spent. Our boat looked horrible, holes in the seat, mold growth, trash and roaches inside the cushions. Ply wood pieces and a ripped carpet on the double decker. Out of 17 people 5 cut their toes/foot on exposed sharp metal. The grill was tiny, definitely not the nice sized one I saw pictured. Most likely will never use them again.

So unorganized. No one had a clue what was going on, what equipment they actually had, and no one could relay information. They talked around the room without directly addressing me. Stood there waiting for 10 minutes without before walking out. Get organized!!!

Our group had so much fun on the boat! The driver was great, we did wake surfing and he gave tips to help everyone, we also did tubing which was fun and he took us to a cove where we jumped off some rocks. We had a great time, would love to come back again!

Had a great time on the lake with family, but the boat was not the same boat that was pictured on the website, which caused some confusion. No safety briefing or introduction to the boat, the guys just expected you to know where/how everything worked and didn’t seem like they knew what was going on at all. The welds had broken on the boarding ladder, leaving jagged and razor sharp metal exposed on the inside of the ladder so we wrapped towels around them to protect the children from getting cut. Overall had a great time on the lake, but due to the lack of professionalism shown, we won’t be using Canyon Lake Adventures again.

Great experience! Our family was at Canyon Lake for a few days and we rented two jet skis from Canyon Lake Adventures. All of the employees were really helpful and responsive. I made a mistake online booking and they were very friendly and efficient in correcting my mistake. The equipment was top-notch and, of course, the lake is beautiful. We had a great time and will absolutely rent from them again!

There was no training from the owner! We were almost on our own! Trying to figure out how to handle the vehicle correctly! But to be onset it was exciting too!

This review is going to be a little long, but my experience with CLA was a bit mixed. Some good points, some not so good.Front office - The young lady who helped me when I called to make a reservation was very helpful, courteous and nice.Price - I live on Canyon Lake and rent often from other places. The cost for a jet ski at CLA is considerably more than anywhere else that I know of.(but I was okay with that for this particular weekend)Experience - Rented 2 jet skis, but when I showed up, only one was working. No heads up call to let me know. But could have been beyond their control. The whole operation is pretty loosely run. That was not a huge turn off for me, but it does not give one confidence when paying absolute top dollar. And yet, hardly a mortal sin! There was no offer made to make up for the lack of reserved equipment.Equipment - The jet ski was cosmetically quite worn, and that was a positive to me. It ran great and I dont really like to rent a brand new looking piece of equipment! So this was not a show stopper for me.Overall - CLA deserves some stars, but I just cannot give them anything beyond neutral. I dont think I will be a returning customer, but I hope they are able to sort some of their organization issues.Very nice people who are running a complicated business and still in the learning curve.

I had an excellent experience with this company! I had just moved into town and booked a sunset cruise with them for a bachelorette party. From them being accommodating when I was worried about the weather, to our awesome driver, Shannon, I most definitely plan on using them again! I totally appreciated the customer service. The boat was super nice as well. We had an MB52 and we had so much space as well as an storage area for our stuff. I plan to use them again!

You can rent all sorts of water equipment

We took the sunset Cruise. 8 of us went, very enjoyable. A little expensive, be sure to bring drinks and snacks (nothing provided). Didnt tell us about life jackets - but we may have missed that conversation since we were running late (however safety info is always a must especially since we had a non-swimmer onboard). But we didnt think to ask until the cruise was over! Lol...so obviously we were enjoying the ride around the lake. Captain was very happy to show us areas we wanted to see while being very knowledgeable about the lake as well. I grew up on the lake and havent been there in a long while...it was like being home again. Well worth the expense, and we didnt have to take the boat out! No chores for us!! Thanks for this memory with family along!

I would like to give it a zero but I can’t. We wanted to rent jet skis for a few hours and enjoy the lake. We made our reservation for 9am. We showed up at 8:45 and they checked us in and told us to meet them at the dock. We then got to the dock about 9 and they didn’t get there with the jet ski until 9:35. Then when we got on the lake finally the jet ski starts smoking immediately, we didn’t even make it out of the no wake zone. We turned around and called to let them know. We then floated around in the no wake zone for 30 minutes until someone finally showed back up. We then went back to let them know what happened and they didn’t say sorry once and treated us rudely. I would never recommend this place.

Rented a Party Barge from these guys. It was a great experience. I would use them again if I returned to Canyon Lake. The water slide on the Party Barge was SLIPPERY and our grown man selfs got to act like kids again. Great times and great memories thanks for the awesome time.

My friends and I rented a double decker from this company. We had a blast on lake. Our drivers name was Carston, I believe. We called him “Carl” for short. We loved him. He made our time very enjoyable, even gave him a hefty tip. Towards the end when we are loading our stuff back into our vehicle an employee by the name of BOB started yelling at us saying he couldn’t pass through with the boat because we were in the way. Calling us b**** and cu***. Ugly names and peels out in front of kids and other people on the lake. He had more than enough room to get through as he ended up getting through. Other guests that had rented as well stated they had problems with BOB as well. We went back to the rental place and spoke to Zack. Zack was not very helpful at all. He didn’t seem concerned, didn’t offer to make anything right after spending over $700 and being disrespected by his employee. This is completely unacceptable. The rating would be a 5 if management did something about it. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

MISadventures on Canyol Lake :/After much deliberation I decided to rent a pontoon boat to celebrate my husbands birthday. I booked it weeks in advance and communicated with the owner (Zack Pennell) to ensure that we would have a safe excursion (as we had an infant, a toddler, and a pregnant woman on our guest list). We had friends drive in from San Antonio as well as Austin and were very excited.When we arrived to check in at the office, we were greeted by a nice but clearly stoned/influenced employee named Eric who informed us that their computers were down and something was wrong with his phone so he was having trouble verifying reservations. He took down our information and sent us to the dock to meet up with Cole and begin our Adventure.When we arrived at the dock for our 2pm appointment, Cole was loading another group of guests onto our boat. Cole and the guests were nice enough and after 15 minutes and 2 phone calls, it was determined that the pontoon had indeed been rented by us and we began to unload the previous group and board ourselves. The police spent the next 10 minutes interrogating Cole about the safety features of the boat and why the registration was expired. When we were all squared away, we realized that the battery was dead. Cole was trying his best, called for a new battery, and in the mean time there was another pontoon boat that pulled up to the dock. Cole ushered us onto that one (never a quick exercise with babies), ensured that it started and promptly left to go charter an Adventure for another group.The boat had trash left in it, the gas gauge read empty (but Cole assured us that it was just broken), no anchor, and no rope to tie off with. At that point, we were over an hour past our reservation and overheated with an infant, toddler, and pregnant woman on board. We decided to go to the nearest inlet to take a dip while I called Eric to bring us an anchor. He assured me that they would be out to us in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes I called back and received more assurances. We never received an anchor and Eric and Zack didnt respond to my texts or phone calls (in addition, their voicemail boxes were not set up so I was unable to leave a voicemail).We tried to make the best of the situation since our friends had traveled for this Adventure and taken off work to be there. I was able to drop off a small group of swimmers and drift in the boat, moving every 5-10 minutes to ensure that I wasnt being pushed too close to shore. Without an anchor or rope to tie off, it was not a safe situation to be swimming with babies and I made that clear to Eric.After a couple of hours we realized we werent going to get any help from the Adventure team and headed back to the dock. I called Eric to come pick up the boat and, without a rope, we had to hold the boat at the dock until someone arrived to collect it. With a screaming infant I tried to be nice to the clueless employee and simply gathered our things and went home.This was the biggest waste of a Saturday; my husbands birthday party was ruined.

Malfunctioning equipment, no refunds!Our family rented a 2 hour boat cruize with a driver. Our scheduled boat was late, but they were able to bring in a other boat about 15mins late. Captain was great kid (the good part) , but the boat constantly stalled. We never made it very far on the lake, and had to be towed back. The owner refused to even acknowledge any problems and tried to blame everyone else but his broken equipment. He refused any compensation. I cannot recommend.

Fun time on the 30ft pontoon party boat

Boat was definitly not in good shape. we rented the 17 passenger pontoon boat and we very disappointed. the grill would barely stay hot enough to cook the food. the engine was the hardest thing to start! multiple time we almost drifted into the rocks and other boats because we could not get the engine started to move. the anchor was the cheapest most flimsy little thing Ive ever seen. we were out for 6 hours and not able to anchor the boat one time because the rope was too short and and the anchor was too small for that large of a boat. very disappointed and will not use them again

Overall, poor experience and would not recommend them. Ill share our experience as objectively as possible below.On 9/17, 12 of us rented a double decker pontoon boat for 6 hours (~$900 after random fees not advertised on website). Initially, service was good as we were running about 10 minutes behind and they did not hold it against us. Moving down to the boat ramp, we got our first indication that things may go poorly. Sitting on the trailer, the employee attempted to turn over the engine but it did not work. It took him 20-30 minutes to start the engine (mind he is supposed to be familiar with this specific engine and how it works). Once the engine was running, we took off on the water providing our own experienced operator. On the water, we soon came to realize the boat had been partied out. First, the speakers in the boat did not work. Second, the ply wood deck up top was warped directly above the operator to the point that it felt as if you would fall through if you ran on top of that area. Lastly, the hull on the left side had been bent causing a good bit of water to splash up onto the deck and soak everything on the floor (*far more than would be expected, I know water normally splashes over).Our greatest grievance was when the engine would not turn over about an hour before our return time. As most of us had grown up on lakes, we were comfortable with the starting procedures. As previously described, even their own employee could not get the engine to start initially. Despite our best efforts and taking voice commands over the phone from the company, the engine would not turn over. Roughly an hour and a half later, they sent out someone to tow us in. We returned and discussed getting a little love from them for the dead speakers and boat problems. They took our name ensuring that their guy would call us in the next two days to discuss it and having our card on file would suffice if a refund was appropriate. The phone call never happened. Upon calling them, they went back on their word and said they could not give refunds despite having our card on file. Additionally, they blamed us for flooding the engine (which is highly likely based on the procedures they were telling us to use to start the boat) and noted that they had Bluetooth speakers we could have used... if only wed known. They, however, did offer in store credit if we were to rent from them again. Unfortunately, because of work we all will not be able to use it to which they said they could not offer an alternative.In summary, we had a great time on the lake but not because of their services. I would recommend using the JBSA MWR rentals if military or finding another more reliable company on canyon lake or Just for fun down on lake travis. No hard feelings here, just want people to have a realistic expectation of what they can expect when dealing with this company.

IF BOOKING HERE - MUST READ!!!! We booked with CLA for a bachelorette party on 4/30/16. We reserved the Double Decker pontoon boat for 12-4pm back in March 2016. When we arrived onsite (12pm) to pay and follow the boat out to the ramp, we were told they were short staffed and asked if we could wait. We waited in the parking lot for close to an hour (which we were okay with). Once we got to the boat ramp (1:15pm), and the crew started loading the boat into the water... the boat would not work! We were told the reverse/neutral would not shift so they were going to take the boat back and get us another one. We waited at the boat ramp for over an HOUR-- no call from the crew to update us on ANYTHING! When WE called THEM.. they told us they were taking the boat apart to try and fix it..while we waited with no boat!! Finally one of the guys came back and put us on a MUCH smaller pontoon boat... and had one of our girls drive it (we PAID for a driver..). After circling the lake a bit we noticed the boat we initially rented IN ONE OF THE COVES, driving around. When we pulled up we shouted that it was the boat we were supposed to be on-- but the driver said he was told by the crew on land that we did not WANT the boat anymore!!!! Once we sorted everything out, and the driver got onto our (SMALL) pontoon, he took over driving and we were finally able to relax (3:30 pm!!!). Our driver, Bob, was AWESOME. He took us to all the cool party coves and swim spots; showed us around the lake and gave us some good info on where to go swimming, fishing, etc. Thanks to BOB -- he saved the trip for us! Would NOT rent from CLA again. Guys were OK but unprofessional - we PAID for a double decker 17 passenger boat and received a 10 person small pontoon. Pay a little more $$ & go with a company with more RELIABLE equipment and workers. Thanks again, Captain Bob for saving my bachelorette!
