So I just walked in to Big Woods to inquire about a trigger for my AR. I walk in, say good morning to 2 people behind the counter. Both look up, look at me, say nothing and go about their business. Wow. The next guy that took me to see if they had what I needed was awesome. But with that said, I don’t think there will ever be a reason for me to come back to this store. And that’s saying a lot. Customer service is important. My money is important to me and it should be important enough for you to a t least say good morning to me when I walk in.

Ive been wanting to get archery lessons. Found out on their website that they offer them...contacted them on Facebook and email and no reply. Called them and they acted like i was dumb and didnt know what I was talking about.

Cool place but you better be their type of person or you just get the cold shoulder. I was either lied to or someone who took a decent amount of time to talk to me, told me very incorrectly what their COVID-19 policies were. That was pretty infuriating considering I’ve been a range member for over a year and they know me. They ensured me that shooters on the range are kept one lane apart unless spots fill up. We went early in the day and hardly anyone was there so I thought we did well on that part. Got there and had a mask on and just got stares from everyone behind the counter. I mean they stopped conversations and stared like it was a bad car accident. None of them had masks on so I immediately knew what that was about. Didn’t make a big deal of it because this happens a lot around here. We were just our usual friendly selves. They put me and my wife on the very far end lane with no one else in the range at all. I thought this was perfect and if anyone else came in we’d all have plenty of room to enjoy our range time. Nope. One more guy comes in and they stick him right next to us. So that entirely went against what I was told and it was simply annoying. We had two shooters, a couple bags with several guns and took up a decent bit of room on the loading benches. Even if COVID was never a thing, this would piss me off. It was something they seemed to almost actively avoid and I loved that about this range. They would space you out and everyone had room. We shoot then I went over and picked up a couple magazines to buy as we head out. That’s where the straw broke the camels’ back. I asked where the 1911 magazines were located and after being asked what 1911 I had, I was then given a brief lecture on the topic of how terrible of a gun the Kimber 1911 was. It was a bit confusing considering I didn’t ask and I was about to spend more money on magazines. That was until this one employee convinced me otherwise, so I sat them down and we left. I hate it ended this way but they lied to my face and I refuse to spend money where I no longer feel like an appreciated customer. I used to walk in to smiles and people greeting me like some local bar, I felt appreciated. I can’t say the same anymore and that’s honestly very disappointing in a place where I spent so much time and money.

I took an inexpensive shotgun in to be refinished here, after looking at prices on the website. The gentleman that helped me was very professional and seemed to know his craft very well. In the process, he told me that hed recommend cerakoting my shotguns three main pieces, not the whole thing. Because this was less work, he quoted me a price of between $145 and $185, This was lower than the pricing online, which ranged from $185 to $225 and a price that seemed great compared to the $260 - $300 he quoted if I wanted the gun re-blued as it originally came.When I returned, I was impressed with the quality of the work. The gun looked much better than it did when I first bought it new in the box. I love the finish. The work was professionally done and it made the cheap $350 gun look far better than it ever had.But then I was hit with a bill of $270 for the work, nearly twice the initial estimate. When I balked, the gentleman pulled out a pricing sheet and showed me amounts that were entirely different than what was quoted (the same as online pricing, which Id reviewed prior to coming in.) The $270 price was still higher than the top end price on his pricing sheet ($225), and thats when he said there was an additional $45 charge for disassembling the gun. This really didnt feel right at all, because the pricing sheet and the online price guide said there was a $35 charge for disassembling Glock and Smith and Wesson guns ONLY. There was never any mention of a charge for the disassembling the shotgun, nor was it on the pricing sheet used to justify the charge. I now understand this to mean that theres a cheaper charge ONLY for Glock and Smith and Wesson guns, making it lesser than the never listed and completely unmentioned $45 charge for all others. Its definitely (and possibly purposefully) unclear.I cant take anything away from the quality of the work, but it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth to be charged double the estimate and to have hidden charges justified by ambiguous (and missing) language. It doesnt feel honest. I wouldnt recommend you have any work done here without receiving an estimate in writing prior to work commencing. You cant take their word for it, and thats too bad.In the end, I was expected to pay the $270 and was told sorry for the misunderstanding as if the unlisted charge and the higher price than quoted was somehow on me. I give credit where its due: the work was great and I would normally be glad to use these guys in the future, but the way I was treated insures that dollar $270 was the last one theyll get from my wallet.

Amazing staff and a wide variety of firearms. From the front desk to the gun smith, theyre all friendly, knowledgeable and very eager to help their clientele. I can always count on Jay or anyone else working to make my friends, family and other guests welcome to the range.

Honestly I thought this place was really good at first I bought 3 handguns in the matter of 2 weeks staff was friendly & gave me great insight on what I purchased. However one of the guns I purchased & shot at their range, with only 50 rounds through it. I wasnt impressed so I figured Id give it a shot & trade it in. I wasnt expecting the world back & knew I would take a hit spending $230 orginally. But the manager offered me only $80 then stating to me he was going to resell for around $175, I then asked if he could at least do $100. I was getting ready to purchase another gun if he could at least meet me at $100. I figured since Ive spent so much recently hed be willing to work with me a little bit. He honestly didnt even care whether I did business with him or not. Need less to say i will not be coming back to big woods for anything. Poor management & bad business with a reoccurring customer.

Ive been a customer here for a few years and never had an issue until today. I called up there this morning in search of a Glock 43x. They had 1 left in stock, and I told the lady verbatim Ok Im on my way up there to get it. I guess that was not code enough for HOLD the gun. I show up 15 minutes (tops) later to that same gun held for another customer. Staff just shrugged their shoulders and the same lady stated He didnt ask me to hold it. The staff did not even offer to put me on a list for callback when they came back in stock. Seems like they really wanted to sell me another gun.

Big Woods is an excellent place to purchase firearms, shoot, and get gear. I much prefer shooting outdoors, but overall their range is well ventilated, and their showroom is stocked with useful and good quality items. I go there frequently for reloading supplies, gun parts, and the occasional new gun!

The staff are always friendly and willing to help, they have a pretty good selection of firearms. Good gear and accessories. They are a bit lacking on ammo variety tho. I never can find what Im looking for there (that is why 4 stars instead of 5). However, the range is great and they have competitive competitions thru the week. Cool place overall!

Great range/store staffed by great people. They also carry AR15 accessories that none of the big guys nearby (Cabelas, Academy Sports, Governors Gun Club) have in stock. Pricing on some firearms/accessories might be a little high compared to online, but I believe supporting local business is better than getting the best deal possible.

Been going here for a while now and I must say, I absolutely love this place! The staff up front has always been very welcoming and professional.Ryan in the Archery department is hands down one of the nicest guys Ive met. Hes super down to earth and extremely professional and knowledgeable.I recently purchased a new bow for my daughter at a different store and Ryan took time (on a busy Saturday...during bow season) to help get the bow set up as there were some timing issues.Thanks again for everything Ryan!You wont find a better group of people anywhere. Honestly, a lot of stores are full of Rambo type know it alls!

I just wanted to thank all the nice folks at Big Woods Gun Range. I took my two boys there to shoot for the first time and they were SO nice and willing to help us. We had a BLAST!! Big Woods Goods is hands down my favorite gun range in all of metro Atlanta! It’s worth the drive to visit! The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Prices are competitive too!

I went in to have night sights installed on a pistol. The staff was friendly and helpful, not to mention the sights were installed very quickly. When I went to pick them up, I asked if they could also adjust the sights on another pistol I had with me and they did it on the spot, no problem. Bottom line, I have never had bad customer service at Big Woods.

Went in and got my bow worked on and it was a good experience spent a lot on all new arrows. Then went home to shoot and had a problem with clearing my drop away. (Not a big deal things happen). Then called to make sure there archery guy was there, showed up on Friday and he was not there like they said. Then did the same thing Saturday. Talked to manager or owner not sure and they said nothing they can do. Will not be going back. Tried them to give them a shot but will only go to mitches archery was stupid to ever change. Will I could give less than one star

BUYERS BEWARE!!! Business 101 - Epic Fail.OWNER (Bill) is not a consumer-centric business owner. I have frequently purchased MULTIPLE firearms, ammo, etc from Big Woods Goods. However, I will seek out other local businesses moving forward and recommend you consider doing so as well. I now recommend GA Firing Line.I took issue following Bill accusing me (in front of my daughter and other customers) of changing the expiration date on my range pass. My pass was altered by HIS staff and I assure you I did NOT alter or falsify range pass end date. Adding to embarrassment, he also attempted to charge me for the already used range time - which I adamantly declined. Additionally, I have non-expiring FREE range passes from various raffles and silent auctions obtained prior to this dispute. I believe this further supports my position. No need for me to alter expiration date existed!Entire business matter poorly handled: dispute should have been addressed privately (away from customers and child), additional research should have been done before asserting accusations, discussion tone and delivery could have been more diplomatic and polished, error was NOT generated by me.A once completely happy and loyal customer has been lost. I encourage those frequenting this location to give pause and consider visiting alternate locations NOT owned/operated by this individual. Be certain all business documents are official.

Big Woods Goods is a five star establishment through and through! The first time I went here, I had no clue what I was doing and the people behind the counter explained everything to me and showed me exactly what to do. After my initial experience at Big Woods Goods, I wouldnt ever go anywhere else. The facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming and the staff is knowledgeable and very nice. Extremely friendly and competitive pricing

I signed my 15 yro up for the Intro to Archery class, she really enjoyed it! The instructor was knowledgeable and took his time with the students. Ill be back to attend a class as well. The facility is very nice as well and all employees were friendly. Highly recommend!

This is a top notch place for both their shooting range and store. The staff is friendly; however, two in particular really stand out --- Joey and Joe. They always greet you with a smile and hello and will work with you on any level to insure you have a pleasant experience. If you are ever in the area and want a memorable experience, go to Big Woods Goods and also ask for Joey and Joe. They will treat you right. I will not go to any other range and they are a big part of the reason why.

After reluctantly going to different ranges, Ive found the one. The staff is very friendly. Theres none of the condescension that frequents the staff of other gun stores. Selection and prices are good.

Wife and I came in looking for a .380 for her purse. She thought she knew what she wanted but after an associate spent over an hour with her at the counter and then in the range, she ended up buying a different model. Happy as always with Big Woods and will always recommend friends visit them first when looking for a firearm. A bonus they offer is any firearm rental cost can be applied to the purchase of a gun if done the same day. A nice bonus when trying to decide on something.

Higher prices than other close businesses. Their shooting range has way more rules than any shooting range Ive been to. And they nickel and dime you wherever they can. Id recommend their neighbor High Caliber.

A large gun store and shooting range. Its hidden, off the main drag, but its well worth seeking out. They have a helpful staff and a larger selection than other stores. Note: rifles are allowed at their indoor range! Great!

My favorite gun range. The staff are all helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I am not a member yet, but will definitely sign up for a membership soon. I love the fact that non-shooters or children can observe through the soundproof glass, which also allows parents to keep an eye on their kids, if theyre not out on the range with them.

I have bought several guns from these guys. Very friendly, helpful and honest. Prices are not cheap but they make up for it with service and knowledge. They do have a great selection of handguns and some that are hard to find (FN Five Seven) for example. Range is mostly busy so call ahead and check.

I used to love coming here. I even bought a Kahr PM9 here. In the last couple of months since the great gun rush the service has gone down. I was there today and was looking to purchase another. The young girl at the counter and young man were too busy with each other. She is not friendly and courteous at all. I was one of two people at the counter looking at guns, since it was early in day and there were almost no people around buying. The young man in the past was very courteous. The fat man is the funniest guy there and I have only good things to say about him. They are too busy for their customers now.(even with few people there). Even the range guy, Spanish looking guy passed me off the other day. Ammo selection is pitifully and the prices seem to have gone up, and the service down. I really regret writing this kind of a review but I felt there are other places you might try. I will be taking my business to the Firing Line until they fix some of the issues. I really hope so because I used to love this place.

The only person that greeted me was the young lady at the door. The rest of the staff ignored me even though it was obvious that I was interested in a gun. When I ask the young lady about lessons, she told me to visit the website and could not provide any more information. I ended up going to High Caliber down the street and purchasing a new gun.

One of the nicest indoor ranges I have been too. Four of us went and had a great time. Nick was extremely helpful. We will definitely go back the next time we visit our sons.

Great people. Great facility. I especially enjoy the Bowling Pin shoot every other Monday and the Practical Action Shooting every Thursday.

Was fun except for the mandatory, 45 second, $25 each, training lesson we were forced to get or they wouldnt let us shoot(first timers). If you cant demonstrate the loading and safety features of a gun as a courtesy, then that really says a lot about the business. Wasnt gonna drive all the way out there and not shoot though. It was pretty fun.

Had a great time at this range. There was a wait, but the store has comfortable seating and a very nice inventory. I would have given it 5 stars but you cannot shoot TUL, Wolf, or Russian surplus ammo :(....

Love the indoor range. High top tables for spectators to watch and nice lounge space if having to wait for your turn on a lane. Plenty to browse from guns to purses...conceal carry purses of course!.

Drove over an hour twice to Big Woods Good and did not have a great experience either time. I was looking forward to getting my bow fixed up or buying a new one. The first time, even though they were not busy at all, the gentleman behind the archery counter did not seem to want to help or answer questions. I am not an avid bow hunter (yet) but was hoping to get some advice and then shoot on the range. Then today I went back up to get my bow that they repaired and to get a peep sighted in. They were understaffed today but also didnt seem to want to help (once again the archery county). After paying $93 dollars today to get the D ring put on and bow maintenance, I left without being able to get a peep installed. I went to Mitchs archery (highly recommend them) and come to find out the bow doesnt really fit me anymore, are not made anymore, etc. Mitch puts on a peep hole for me at no cost (even though the draw is too long for me so its not exactly correct -- which could have all been found out at Big Woods Goods if they were willing to help either time). Anyway, just really feel like I spent a lot of time driving to and from Big Woods twice and also wasted the $93 dollars today plus more with all the other accessories I bought (bag, etc... but at least I can keep using those when I buy a new bow). I guess the other part I should mention is there were other customers at Mitchs archery that I saw at Big Woods (who were also frustrated with the service and had drove over to Mitchs).

First time at this facility ! Hands down this place has very professional people in place and an A1 facility. 5 Stars across the board. Im a retired Task Force Detective that have been to many ranges.

I will never visit this place ever again. Went to shoot the match on Thursday night and I walked up and the range officer was speaking behind me and thought it was the okay to go. But it wasn’t and got disqualified. The range officer was not very nice about it and didn’t even apologize for it. Since he gets to shoot for free it doesn’t matter to him. It was the first time and the last I will ever go back to this place ever.

We have been very happy going there. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. My kids took the archery classes. Sarah is super great with the kids, and helped us purchased bow specific to what they needed.

The range is nice. But I asked a employee behind the counter if we can shoot slugs or birdshot or double ought. The guy said none you cant shoot any. Then I looked on the wall for guns they rent and they had a saiga 12 and a 870 pump. That pissed me off. The idiot employee said you cant shoot shotguns on the weekend. I said what.....how stupid. But you can during the week. Dumbest rules I ever heard about. I will not be going back. I hate being lied too.

Walked in yesterday with my AR 95% complete and these guys went above beyond to help me finish the project and get me into the range for a test fire. Great knowledgable sales staff and tons of product. Ranges were clean, quiet and well ventilated. They earned my future business.

Very helpful and friendly even when I see other customers in the store go out of their way to be rude to the staff.ROs are helpful and will answer questions politely and be stern when necessary. I like that about BW crew.Smith will fall over himself to help you out. He will test your firearm right there on the spot and talk about upgrades or repairs. I needed a front sight moved, he was back in 5 minutes and said... try that. Was neat being able to walk in and ask for Smith help then get it right there, right then.Think Ill head there today and just hang out a bit. May use the range too.

I scheduled an early Fathers Day gift for my husband to take archery lessons. The directions took me the wrong way and we were late. BWG does not do refunds for classes, which I understood. After calling to say I was lost and get directions, I was told to reschedule the class. My husband and I decided to go anyway to check out the store and reschedule the lessons/orientation.Once we arrived, we were told that we couldnt get a refund or have the class transferred to another date.Therefore, the cost for the orientation was lost.This, I feel, is horrible customer service.Please believe the negative reviews. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
