Well, unfortunately this has to be a very negative review. This was the only trip we could afford this year due to losing an income over the Pandemic. We rented a cabin. We got there and realized it was infested with crazy, scary looking spiders and weird bugs!!! We didnt sleep the entire weekend and left the lights on the entire time. Our 7 year old son was terrified and wanted to go home. We were so disappointed that such a beautiful place had such nasty accommodations. Weve stayed in cabins all over the place and have never had an experience this horrendous. Gorgeous place. Just dont attempt to sleep there.

The park itself wasnt much. a Floating deck gives you a feel of being on the lake in a boat. The hike on the opposite side of the road didnt lead to any waterfalls like the map showed. Well marked trail.

Not crowded; attendant was very pleasant. Nice lakefront access, but very rocky with lots of shale, so make sure to bring your water shoes. No floating or large toys allowed in lake. Flat $5 fee per vehicle.

Easy trail to walk, took me approximately an hour to walk at a moderate pace. The trail is marked so it is easy to follow the path. There are chairs along the path in case you need to take a break.

Seems like it would be a really nice park . However, website fails to mention they hold day camp there . A lot of kids from day camp, no social distancing and no masks on kids running everywhere. Place was packed on a Tuesday. If your worried about covid 19 , you may not want to go here during the day. Be safe !

The park is most beautiful except for an annoying sound coming from the dock near the swimming area. I went over to investigate and the post is rubbing against the dock in a very obvious way. All it would take is a little bit of grease and the most annoying scraping sound that permeats the atmosphere would be gone. Please, if anybodys reading this that can get a guy down there with a grease gun and squirt some on that post would make Onanda Park a 100% example perfection.

Beautiful park. The creek walk was really beautiful and easy, I saw people of all ages and athletic abilities doing it. The park itself had nice bathrooms and showers for changing, a good division between shallow and deep in the swimming area, a hose to spray off with once you get out, and lots of picnic tables. Parking was $5 but I didn’t mine paying for the experience I got.

When we went this year the waterfalls would ride up because we havent had barely any rain but hiking up them is always a good time. We have taken my daughter last two years in a row and last year she was only one and walked most of the way because its really not a hard path to follow and the stream is not very deep. She loves it she has a blast every time we go.

Its a great spot with amazing sights and features.Theres an outdoor playground thats of moderate size, a paved basketball area, a volleyball net, views of the lake, dedicated swimming area, a beautiful creek that seems to go on and on, rentable cabins, pavillions, facilities, a large swathe of green grass. Its great. The one downside is the bathrooms. There seems to be few public bathrooms and theyre hard to find if you dont already know theyre there. The indoor facilities are a bit sparse, but the real draw is the lakefront, anyway.

You get the joy of being able to veiw and enjoy the lake very close and, in upper onanda, you have the hiking trails with great veiws of the lake from a distance. This is one of my favorite parks/ hiking places, and lake swim spots. You have to pay for entry to the lower lake side during business life gaurd hours...but its not much.Theres a wide variety of options.Swimming on the lake, tons of cabins and halls to rent for events,A play area for kids,Sand volleyball spot,Adirondack chairs on the lakefront that are my favorite sunset spot,And the upper side has regular walking trails and is very dog friendly, kid friendly,As well as the more skilled gorge hiking if you go up the waterway.

Cool little park. Its clean and well appointed. The day we went we didnt have to pay the park fees. They seemed a little high to me, but perhaps on the days that they are charging theres activities and resources there beyond what was there on our visit. The view over the lake is great, we spent the day kiacking. One thing to be aware of is the other boats. There are far more people in motor boats than non powered craft, and most of the boaters couldnt be bothered about being courteous around small craft. One very large boat nearly capsized us because of how fast and near they passed. Not the parks fault at all, but something to be aware of.

Beautiful park; half of the park is on Canandaigua Lake. Recommend parking on the uphill side and walking down to the lower side; parking on uphill side is free and pet-friendly.Did not stay in cabins, but they appear very nice and the rental rates are reasonable for folks wishing to stay at the lake.Handicapped accessible on the lower side with excellent restroom and kitchen facilities.
