Nice lake near south San Jose Downtown. Very beautiful. Right now theres no fee. Lake is so beautiful and peaceful. Couple of times I saw turtle also in the water. There are lot of parking spaces available. Dog park is also there inside.Nice trail for biking and walking alone or with someone. #beautifullake #sanjose #lake #losgatoscreekcountypark
Great dog park with friendly pet parents and well behaved dogs for the most part. Artificial turf. Large and small breeds have separate areas. People observe mask and distance rules (masks required inside the dog park.) Great place to socialize for both pets and parents. Parking fee waived during the pandemic (as of July 28). Miles of trails, beautiful setting, many ponds, good sun/shade balance. Main trails are pretty busy with mixed traffic but there are other trails on the other side of the ponds that are far quieter. On-street parking is possible - you need to figure out the access points.
Los Gatos Creek County Park is a decent small, local park. It has good access to the the Los Gatos Creek Trail, and a variety of activities and amenities, including fishing, casting ponds, a fenced dog park, picnic shelter, and restrooms. There is abundant wildlife, including resident Canada geese, which unfortunate leave a lot of guano on the large fields. The park is only officially open during daylight hours, and the restrooms are locked when the park is closed, which is rather annoying for early morning runners on the trail.
Decent park with just a small homeless population. The grass is in just ok condition, but there are so many Canadian geese around there is goose poo everywhere. Bring your own chair, you wont want to sit on the grass with all the goose poo. Its been a decent place to meet while all the bars and restaurants are closed.
Was my first time here and it was just what i needed.. A new and fresh breath of air New starts with you! Not the year! (I just made that up! ) but very true!
Very easily accessible one with interspersed divisions across the water-body! Depending on ur stamina, u can trek along various tracts; excellent opportunity for fishing, biking...thoroughly enjoyable by very young kids and kids like me who have crossed 70 !
We probably visit the los gatos trail at least 3 times a week, either walking or biking. We feel fortunate to have this beautiful preserve near us.
Beautiful park. There are picnic spots. Beautiful long trails that connect to vasana lake county park. The same trail has biking path too. It goes along the creek.
Well maintained and great scenery. Great trail for a ride or walk
Great park to see wild life, you can see your regular ducks and tons of Canada geese. Just watch out your step because these birds poop everywhere. Besides that, the park is nice for biking, skating, hang out with family, walk your dogs and walk yourself . Take a walk by the lake and watch the sunset. Youre gonna be able to find plenty of parking, keep in mind due to COVID-19 grills and some tables are blocked to use.
We thought this trail really really busy. So not suitable for small kids unless on bikes. Its also next to a busy motorway so loud and not very peaceful. Some nice lakes but overall we felt too busy for us
I really enjoyed. It was clean, and have a beautiful views. I had great pictures
Great place to bring kids, walk a dog, and even go fishing w/ fishing license. Be covid safe and wear a mask please
Not sure how I feel about this place. We went there because of reviews but we were a little disappointed. First, you have to pay for parking ($2/h). The problem is more that we had no idea rather than the price. Second, theres poop everywhere because of geese. You are sharing road with bicycles. The good points are the dog park, the playground and the lakes.
Great park to bring the family and dog. Biking trails, fishing, ducks, really has it all.
Great trails and lots of change in scenery. Lovely creek and waterfalls near the recharge ponds. Great place to walk or bike
Lots of trails. No bathrooms. It was a pleasant place to walk around.
One of the best parks in all of Santa Clara county
Heavily used, well maintained walking trail. I wish bicyclists remembered road saftey, speed limits, and right-of-way for pedestrians. The trail offers many entrances.
Oh I love Los Gatos Trails its always a nice place to go and walk around its a very safe place to be at a good walk for after having dinner
My Dog loves this park. Everything is clean.
Super nice place to go...good place to take a kid fishing or to ride a bike
Very nice...lots of trails & beautiful nature!!
Great dog park here. Big dog and little dog sections and free dog poop bags. The space is part Astro turf and part dirt so a good mix. I had trouble with the gate in to the dog park but a friendly dog owner explained I just had to push it harder. Busy but not at all crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The dog park was a short walk from the paid parking lot. Its past the gates area with small pools in it. There was a sign saying dog park and an arrow so I wasnt lost for too long.Would love to come back and jog with my dogs down this trail! Good sized paved road and lots of people enjoying biking and jogging it!
The lake is so serene. A lovy place to fish, walk, bike or run. Nice for families and couples. They even have a dog park. No one is left out. They have picnic areas that are currently closed. Im looking forward to going back later for a family gathering and fishing.
Nice flat trail with some ponds. Dog park area is fenced with big dog and small dog area, artificial turf. Usually not too crowded and the people are nice and attentive to their dogs. On days where the park ranger is at the entrance you’ll have to pay a fee to park inside. Usually I just turn around and go find a parking outside on the street.
Nice place to walk, bike, hike and walk a dog.
You can walk on the paved trail or off the trail giving you the forrest feeling. :-) does get busy sometimes on the paved trail
Nice long mostly flat walking/biking path.
Good place to visit and walking around the park!!!
Enjoy my morning run so much! Great parking facility around the entrance
I love to come to this park for a quick and easy walk around the ponds on the Los Gatos Creek trail. I always bring my camera to photograph all of the unique waterfowl who call this place home. I also often see many turtles either sunning themselves on the rocks or gliding through the water. A very peaceful park!
Best trail one could find within the city.Could walk from Campbell up to Los Gatos
It would be better place if there was more tree and less traffic sound. Still nice trail.
Nice peaceful place to walk/run/bike.
Nice place to exercise, run,or walk in the trials.
Biking trail along the creek was beautiful!
I like this place, it is a very clean park with nice people and great fishing, I caught a 40lb sturgeon while ice fishing with the kids great place and easy access!
Nothing special in this park. There is a dog park but as any dog park in the area, its tiny and with artificial turf. Better walk or run your dog along the beautiful creek trail nearby. Water fountains not well maintained. Bathrooms OK.
Beautiful place to walk and chill.
This is basically a quite place for people to jog and spend some quite time. A simple trail but will not disappoint.
Its a nice open area with covered pic nice tables, theres a dog park and a casting pond. However no playground for the kiddos. They do have a public restroom with running water, but they charge $6. to enter which is kinda pricey for what it is but thats what happens when you live in one of the most expensive cities in the US
Met my wife here 6 years ago. We still visit several times per week.
Like a walk in the park on a very hot day
Mellow place to hang out rasta friendly
Only $3 per hour parking for a lot of fun. Its very refreshing to stroll along the lake.
Right by the freeway. Besides that its nice. Birds and ducks and a big settling pond
I would rate it perfect if the noise from the freeway was less
Great place to relax near lake. Nice picnic area. Good spots to sit and enjoy.
I love running in the morning. I meet such interesting friends.
Great place for a walk/jog
Lots of Canadian geese hanging out. A bit on the dry side today, lots of picnic benches.
Awesome day hiking and biking trails. Very well maintained with lots of variety, peaceful with great views. Beautiful and not too many mtn bikers so less chance of collisions on the downhill. Nice, courteous park ranger with speed laser to catch those over 15mph on downhill portions
Always a nice place to de stress after work. Sometimes the geese are a little terrifying though lol
Lots of people out enjoying the beautiful, sunny day.
Great place to do biking
After so much indoor time, it was the perfect day to walk a few miles, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy that radiant sunshine!
Good place to enjoy with you family
One side has a beautiful house view
Great, well maintained trails. Generally, busy enough to feel safe but not over-crowded.
The trail is beautiful. A good place to run
Quiet little piece of nature in the middle of a semi commercial area.
Love the trail here. Watch out for the bikers that doesnt tell you that they are coming from behind. Lots of people on the trail at all times. You can see plenty of wildlife too.
Great walking and biking trail. Lovely scenery. Picnic tables, doggie park and even a casting pond.
This park has ample (pay) parking, a dog park, good access to the trails and the adjoining creek, and some lovely lakes and ponds that tend to have quite a selection of local and/or migratory birds (depending on the time of year)!
Lots of people having fun everywhere safe organized resources and Facilities
Easy trail, good for biking!
This is a great place to come for a stroll. I have been cominng here for years. 2 reasons why I didnt give it a 5 star. #1 NO FISH. I wish the waters were stocked this would be great. #2 There are a lot of homeless smoking pot, cigarettes , and drinking booze at the tables at times.
Havent been here forever (old stomping grounds) but finally took kiddos for an after dinner hike. The geese have really done a number on the walkways. It was still fun. We got quite the surprise after walking around 1st pond that it was fenced off and had to turn around to leave. That sucked because it was getting dark and we had our granddaughter (2) who ended up falling going back where wed come from. Oh well!
Smaller than Vasona Park up the road .both free during #coronavirus
Was visiting from Los Angeles and borrowed a bike to ride the Los Gatos Creek bike path. It takes you all the way up near down town I enjoyed it a lot.
Best running, walking biking trail in the south bay.
Really nice dog parks! It has artificial turf and hence stays dry and clean. There are separate ones for small and large dogs. Gets crowded on weekends.
Nice park with trails and foliage. They keep it fairly clean. We enjoy the Christmas In The Park event they host every year.
Nice place for a walking, and easy biking
Nice place for fishing.
We really enjoy it, its busy during weekends, but ok during a week day. We usually do a loop and stop at the dog park
Participated in the Dog Days of Summer event for the David Lewis Group doing chair massages. Had a great time! Beautiful weather. Loved the large pavilion area with the picnic tables and grill.
Nice place for running ot walking
Very dry area. Not much for kids to do
A Little Lake escape out of no where, in the middle of the city.
Beautiful park, very well maintained, but dont forget to bring money to get entrance or passes are available.
It was way better back in the day (90s )
Perfect trail for a nice morning run along side nice views of the creek and lake alongside. 5 mile run back and forth from Vasona Park to Los Gatos Creek Park. One of the nicest trails Ive ran in the Bay Area.
Its our go to spot for our pup but you never know what youll find there. People sleeping in cars in the parking lot surely arent paying the parking fee, and saw a guy basically kick his dog when he acted up last time. Otherwise its a nice spot.
Beautiful walks that start in local areas and connect to other locations. Well kept park, almost no litter along the paths. Some people complain about homeless encampments, but people who have a problem with homeless encampments are likely part of the problem.
Nice place very peaceful
Amazing place to chill g and watch nature especially using a little DMT
Fun relaxed park! The paved trail winds around the creek and nature. We were there on a Sunday sharing the path with walkers, joggers, and bicyclists. There is a dog park that is divided for small dogs or large dogs. Great group of friendly people in the dog park area. I enjoyed the 2 hours we were there.
Walk to the dam totally worth it for the serenity and calmness abound.
