This place was awesome! I really loved visiting when the weather was cooler. It was actually a bright sunny day while it was raining and we were looking at the dwellings that they built into the side of the cliffs. Theres signs with convenient information at every notable spot—giving information about what it is were standing in front of and theres also A LOT OF NICE PLACES TO SIT that is shady. Theres also a small building that has an audio playing automatically explaining how the indigenous people lived way back then with a small model (TO SCALE?) to look at through the glass while it is playing. One of my photos has a LARGE RATTLESNAKE we saw in the grass...look close at the pic to see the rattle. DONT walk off the sidewalk onto the dirt pathways for this reason!

This is a neat trip that will take you about 20-30 minutes. There are some informational signs. There is a small gift shop. You do have to pay an entrance fee of $10 per adult. There is free parking. The fee is too high for the experience in my opinion. We had national park pass, but forgot the card and showed our email, which the staff refused to accept. Pretty frustrating...

There is something awesome and magical when visiting ruins of the American Indians. When paying the admission, making the walk towards the cliff and seeing the dwellings way above you is truly a sight to see. It really makes you wonder how they lived in such a difficult environment. Park staff was very nice and the gift shop is excellent. Put it on your bucket list- well worth it!

What a beautiful place. The afternoon sun illuminated the golden cottonwoods framing these historic ancient ruins. Marvel at the construction. Imagined how you would get into the space. It almost looks like a alien spaceship moved Earth and Rock to create something astonishing. Sit and listen to the leaves Russell and fall. Think about the ancient people we all owe a debt of gratitude.

I saw pictures of this place and really wanted to stop. It was on the road between Sedona and Phoenix so decided to stop. The castle is pretty cool to see in person, but dont expect too much from this place. You can see everything there is to see in a half hour or less - an hour tops. The reason for the 3 stars is that they charge $10 per adult here. As cool as the main point of interest is, I dont think the price is justified.

Beautiful place to visit and imagine the past people who lived and made their homes in the cliffs. The visit takes only about 30-45 minutes. During winter Beaver Creek runs rapidly through. This time of year there is no water due to the very dry season we had. The rangers are very resourceful. Plenty of space for social distancing if that is a concern for guest.

Ok, native peoples were living in the Verde Valley and creating this amazing structure in the ~1200s (CE) and it survived for centuries. This is an easy visit approx half way between Phx and Flagstaff, an easy drive off I-17. One recommendation, GO!

Theres not as much to check out as one may think, but I still feel that its worth a stop to check out the best well preserved cliff dwellings in the southwest. Montezuma was okay.. dont get me wrong, its neat to read the history and see the cliff dwellings! But I paid for what I thought were two exhibits: Montezuma and Tuzigoot ($10). At the end of the Montezuma trail I asked an employee where Tuzigoot was and she informed me its a 45 min drive north....where I had just come from.. They dont tell you that at the front! A really amazing example of pre-Columbian Native American history in the Southwest. Very easy to get to and doesnt take long to see. Everyone should take time to see this impressive and historically significant sight that has nothing to do with Montezuma. My 7 year old and 11 year old both thought it was very interesting and they will have some great pictures to show their classes. Very close to I-17 and you can be back on the road in 30-45 minutes. A historically amazing relic. With tons of details and info shared with the tourist you get a lot from the info. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because of the size of the park/attraction. There isnt a lot to do. The walking trails are short and its about 1 hour stop even if your walking slow and reading all plaques. Its still an amazing site, I just wish there was more interactive stuff there that you could be hands on or see up close. Small kids will have plenty of room to run and get energy out so this location as a pit stop is a great option!
