We visited your resort to have dinner last evening. Excellent meals. There were four of us and we all agree the food is amazing. We are glad you have a new Chef and we look forward to eating at Desert Willow often. We live in California City so we did not need to spend the night but might be interested in coming out for a weekend stay in our RV because it was so pleasant there. Ida and Kendall Gibbs

Went tent camping for the weekend. Staff was very nice. everything seems nice and green until you reach the camp site very dry brown and broken. I dont think alot of people go camping there. We made it work. Our last night there was very unruly people.they were playing the movie and music very loud like it is in your face until about 1230am until security came and left then they turned it up again 130am security came again. The lowered but they talked so loud until 3am. I dont think we would go back, if such unruly guest are so disrespectful of others.

My parents bought and paid off a membership here when it newly opened and only had horses and not as many activities as they have now. I was 1 year old then, Im now 34 years old and still love this place. Management kept changing over the years and lost my parents information and so we could no longer come back for many years, or wed have to pay as new members. We do plan on coming back, it has many of my childhood memories with friends and family. Its calm, neat, and pleasant. I only wish they had plant based options in their restaurant, for people who dont consume animal products as they make me sick. Other than that you can bring food and have wonderful picnics with your loved ones and enjoy the beauty.

First things first. The staff was very very nice and deserve the 5 stars I gave them. With that being said, the facilities were awful. The room was sub-par for the rate I paid. I should have just stayed at the nearby Best Western and would have had better accommodations for $88.00. Instead, I paid $116.00 for what looked like a walk-in closet with a bed in it. The room had a musty odor of stale cigarette smoke and old water damage. The bed was a full size and not the queen size I requested. A full size bed is very difficult for 2 adults to share. There were only 2 small accent pillows on the bed. I had to ask for ones to sleep with and the staff had to go find some because they didn’t think there were any extras. There was a refrigerator in the room but it didn’t work. The AC/heating was unit was not working properly and only the fan blew air. We were told the only way to stop it was to unplug it from the outlet because the control panel was broken. The door of the room was wooden-framed and all glass, and it was difficult to lock the deadbolt to secure the room. There were only thin, lace curtains covering the glass and no way to cover them for privacy. Any one could have stood 20 feet from the door and easily watched us sleeping, or broken in and stolen our luggage. We were supposed to have internet access but did not. A tv channel listing was provided with a list of 20 channels. Unfortunately, only about 5 or six of them actually worked. i will never stay here again.

The installations are old but still offering a decent getaway. Be careful with the scam offered as land banking where the bait is an interest 1/4,000 offered as an investment which in reality is to cover the hard cost of land urbanization which you never will own only the interest they have the full scam equipment (sellers, immediate escrow officers, bimbo lenders) to screw you pretty good, after you realize your decision is not an investment but a waste, you cannot cancel your contract, they speed up instead to generate a phantom lending (Nile Almundaris Broker Trust) and organize a quick sale to another company (Equiant Finnancial) which is going to impact your credit every month to reduce it to ashes, enjoy your visiting and B E W A R E of the ferocious lions.

The resort is rustic, fun, very laid back and a great place to get away from it all. I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, wide open quiet and star filled nights. The restaurant is pretty basic and although filling, not exactly lux. The wine list was no existent so bring your own. Otherwise, a very nice stay. We came on a Thursday and left on Saturday and Thursday-Friday were very quiet and peaceful. Saturday was the opposite with families and kids and everyone having a splendid time. Glad I came on Thursday. The rooms were a little dated but they upgraded us to a bungalow after I mentioned it and the upgrade was fine. The bungalows are roomier, have a mini kitchen and are set off in a quieter area of the grounds. All in all, not a five star resort but while there were a couple of three star features the rest easily made up for those so I believe it has earned a four star rating in my book. Mostly for ambiance.

A large group (around 200 maybe) used the campsite facilities over a long weekend. The facilities were definitely conducive for our purposes. The layout was great. The only issue I am aware of is the poor shower/bathroom facilities. I realize we were camping but most of us camped in fairly nice RVs and more in favor of glamping. Im not a regular camper but I am a regular boater and the interior of an RV and boat are remarkably similar. Marinas however generally have super comfortable bathroom facilities, it would be nice if campgrounds followed that example since the constraints on both campers and boaters are similar.

Everything here was broken, over crowded, and the food was a nightmare- worst meal iv had in recent memory, the food was so laughably bad it became the highlight of our trip the alfrado sauce was thinner than the water in the pool and had big chunks of ginger in it... Why ginger lol i cant believe they could honestly charge $20 for that dinner. Staff was friendly minus the grumpy guy at the shooting range. Not sure why there was ginger in the alfrado though. Anyway I had a really rough time there but overall Im glad that my friends all had an equally bad time and we decided to cancel our reservation and leave the same day we got there, the ginger alfrado will live on in our hearts and minds forever.

I fell in love with Silver Saddle Ranch the first time I visited there. It is such a neat surprise to find such a peaceful, friendly, beautiful outdoor spot so close to the hustle of So Cal but yet so far removed that you can actually enjoy a full sky of stars at night. I have been going back every year for 25 years now. Always feels like pulling up to a good friends home. Grab a lounge chair or sprawl under a tree, kick off your shoes, relax and listen to...silence. Well, Ok, the sound of geese and happy kids laughing. Not a bad spot in my opinion.

We were there for a 90 min. tour which took 5 hours. We arrived in the evening in Friday when kids got of school. All the amenities like boating, archery, or horseback riding were almost over or werent available. Dinner started at 6. It was horrible. There are no restaurants or stores nearby. Eat there or starve. Bar was not stocked. They charged $8 for a beer. We were instructed to check out before or 8 am tour. Breakfast at 7. Reserve horseback tours at 7 before completely booked. We were up at 5 to get showers and pack the car back up. To the stables at 6:30-7 for reservations which we were told we couldnt do till 9. We went to breakfast by 7:15 which was rubber eggs, soggy potato cakes, floppy waffles, under and over cooked sausage, and bacon bits. The tour was 5 hours long. Lunch was hot dog and nachos. We got to the stables after 1 and were told by the same guy who sent us away that we should have reserved at 7am because they were completely booked. My son told us that while we were touring, our host had known to bring her own arrows for the archery because they didnt have any there. The fish were catch and release after staff told us the fish were good eating. The Surry bikes were in bad repair. The place smells of rotten eggs next to the lakes. After stables incident, we were so pissed, we went home.

Review №90

So, basically, you hear about this place because someone invited you, right? You get a coupon book of sorts that is filled with a free dinner, free stay at the hotel, etc. Theres free giveaway gifts, like grocery cards and gas cards. Dog friendly. It is outdated, but not unbearable -- unfortunately, I had to experience this during the summer in a desert, and it was 100 degrees and up. Ranch is nice, very peaceful. Theres archery, a pool, shooting range, bingo, and more. The rooms are nice and cozy, and there is air-conditioning that you should turn on ASAP so the room can be bearable/breathable after dinner. TV isnt updated, but there was regular cable and funnily enough, the Filipino Channel... (Ive noticed that this area tends to prey on fellow kababayans, as another review mentioned. Very true.) Dinner was good as it was buffet-style; there were ribs, rice, hot dogs, so on. Staff was very accommodating. Wifi works, when I went, there were a lot of kids playing Pokemon-GO and there were a few pokestops nearby. Breakfast was great as well, great for free everything! Then, here comes the tour, around 10AM.Now, DO NOT GO ON THE TOUR! I repeat. DO NOT. GO.Honestly. If you just want to go through the pamphlets and whatnot, then just avoid the tour. Completely. This is where they hit you with the Galileo Project. Basically, its a lang-banking scheme, and how when Riverside and Corona fill up, everyone will move to California City and build this place up. Sure, itll happen in the upcoming future, like 30-50 years. Interestingly enough, after breakfast, they split you up into groups by race/ethnicity -- a lot of Spanish speakers in the same room, Chinese internationals in another, and Filipinos into one. They try to appeal to you by trying to speak to you in Tagalog, but its a white man advertising and speaking about the land-banking project, and how if you join their club and get more members to cough up a deposit and a monthly payment, you can basically get cheap-cheap vacation spots in vacation resorts in the Philippines, etc. This is how they appeal to you, along with the free food, throwing around Silicon Valley and solar energy references, saying big names to build credibility (Elon Musk-Tesla, Bill Gates, etc)/Also, you get put into another room with this same group of people, and you get another land-banking seller. Typically speaks your language; theres a whiteboard in the room, and free food outside. This is where they hit you with the prices and how much money youd make, but just according to ONE source that actually won out. In my case, they mentioned how one Filipina nurse decided to invest in Vegas, and she got money because someone wanted to buy her land, and now its a part of some hotel. ONE source, but not verified, no citations, not actual article or anything. Afterwards, you get taken to the tour in a van, and youre going around and looking at these big, grand, cheap houses here. I was surprised people actually lived there, but I mainly saw either white or Filipino neighbors. The houses are nice, and the ones that are toured have the AC on consistently. Beautiful houses, but in the middle of nowhere. They take you to another building up the road, and this is where they sit you down and talk about the prices. They ask you how much you have in your savings (!! sketchy) then try and tell you to put down a down payment of $2-3000, or so. However, say you dont have that money. Well, here, they didnt turn you away -- they pushed you, and kept upgrading you to different levels (like if you were an elite member, you get cheaper land for less?) just to get you hooked. Unfortunately, the people I was with decided to buy land. They paid a significantly smaller number for a deposit ($300 compared to $3000?) when they were trying to sell this off as an amazing piece of land with SO much potential...Their contract has no cancellation period, just like what the other reviewer, E.D., mentioned. My group lost $1000 on land they didnt see or use, almost basically gave the money to this place.
