NEGATIVE KEY NOTES: They did not disclose that we had to bring our own flash drives to get our expensive picture and video packages that same day (or else they would throw them all on a dvd/cd and mail it to you), very outdated technology (including their website) and you cant get both the raw or edited video footage (its one or the other), employees were next to us talking about how the planes gauges were not working (right before we about to board the plane to jump). We had someone in our group who was jumping for their 1st time, so they paid for pictures and they forgot to take pictures of them and there was no remorse from the company representative up front about it. Yes they refunded them, but still no empathy. If we decided to jump locally, we would choose another company.POSITIVE KEY NOTES: The jumpers were super friendly, answered our questions, they put us at ease and got us to land safely.

Great place to do your tandem jumps or even learn how to jump solo! You’ll meet plenty of awesome people and the owners treat you like family. Definitely has a different feel from other drop zones. Skip all the drama and get yourself up in the air!

Sky down was one of the coolest/ craziest experiences I’ve had. The instructors were funny and easy to get along with. They were also good at making the experience seem not as scary. 10/10 would jump with sky down again.

I had an amazing first experience skydiving at Sky Down! Friendly workers and instructors that make you feel comfortable.

Scheduled an appointment and drove 5 hours on my wifes birthday. I was called at the last minute and told the plane was down. I got it it happens but we were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience, very poor service.

Very fun and the staff is super safe and explains things well. They were very attentive towards any concerns and supportive through any last minute jitters.

Main chute did not open!!My girlfriend and I both did a tandem skydive at 10,000 ft. We were in the second group of three groups to jump. The plane goes up, people jump, plane lands, repeat. Falling through the sky everything was great. I knew the main chute was supposed to deploy somewhere around 5,000 ft. As we dropped, I didnt really realize how low we had gotten. Finally, a chute deployed and we quickly descended. We came down pretty hard in a weed filled area close to the runway of the airport, but neither of us were seriously injured, just some abrasions and scratches. We were nowhere near where we were supposed to land, the parachute time was less than 20 seconds and was supposed to be more like 2 or so minutes and we came down fast and hard so I knew something went wrong. I asked my instructor and he explained what had happened. The main chute didnt open. The reserve chute deployed when the reserve chutes automatic activation device (AAD) deployed the reserve. He was rattled and his hands were shaking. Keep in mind, this is a very seasoned instructor. He said hed had several cut aways in his life, but nothing quite like this. It wasnt until the next couple of days after doing my research I fully grasped what happened. Main chutes fail 1 in 1000, reserve chutes almost never fail. Statistically, I was never in much danger, but I still dont know, nor may I ever, why the AAD had to deploy the reserve and it wasnt deployed manually. I suspect the reserve ripcord wasnt working either, but I cant confirm. Im thankful for the AAD though, it saved our lives.You would think this would be the end of my review. Its not. What happened above was only the beginning.The worst part was how myself, the tandem jump instructor and my girlfriend were treated afterward by the Skydown Skydiving owners. After we landed in the weed filled area about 10 minutes later the pilot landed the plane and he drove over to us in his truck. His first and only question was, Wheres my chute? He was referring to the main chute that cut away when the reserve deployed. The skydive instructor replied, I dont know and the pilot yelled, Fu$k! called the instructor an amateur and some other colorful words and immediately drove off, I guess to look for his chute. Later, the wife of the pilot (the other owner) drove up to collect us. She was nice and asked about us, but basically acted like nothing out of the ordinary just happened. After we got back to the hangar I felt I deserved some sort of refund or compensation for my skydive not going according to plan to say the least. Long story short, the pilot was up in the face of my girlfriend, wagging his finger at her yelling obscenities. The wife of the pilot, although very off in her affect, stayed calm. We tried to work with them, but all they would do is refund our videography. Thats fine, we didnt want it anyway.I believe there is a fundamental safety issue with Skydown Skydiving. If you google them youll find they are being sued for how they employ their team of skydive instructors and chute packers. I could write pages on this, but I believe this employment structure is the root cause of the safety concern. Packers, are paid by the chute. Chutes are reused between groups. If they are busy, they are hurrying. Mistakes are made. I believe my main chute didnt open because the packers made a mistake hurrying to repack the first groups chute. Quality control is seriously lagging.If you do decide to give Skydown Skydiving a chance, I implore you, dont go when they are busy. If something goes wrong, and you do live through it, dont bother to expect anything like good customer service. As rare as these events are, even for Skydown, youd expect them to realize they should treat people well when things dont go well, but they dont. I do hope they read this review and make changes to how they employ their chute packers and tandem jump instructors and get some better quality control in place, before someone dies.

This place is awesome second time I jumped with them all the staff are down to earth regular people. Super easy to talk to fun answered all the questions we asked thoroughly. Prices r great safety is first and besides safety their other main concern was giving u an unforgettable amazing experience. I recommend everyone jump out of a plane at least once in their lives and if u want an amazing experience I recommend doing it with skydown

What an AWESOME EXPERIENCE! The folks are nice and make you feel at ease. They reminded me that they have families too and they would not be jumping out of planes if it was not safe. I loved my pictures and video. Thank you Sky Down!

The owners have been doing this for 24 years. They have it down to a science which certainly helps a person entrust them with their life! Very friendly and answered all of our questions. Slightly more affordable than their competitors, but with no lack in quality. There is a generous area for spectating with lots of seating and great views. Id highly recommend Sky Down!

Denise and the whole crew are absolutely rad! Lost my wallet on a jump here (amateur hour) and it wasnt a hassle to get payment squared up without it! A month or so later my wallet was found in a gutter near the Airport and was returned to Denise! She shipped it to me in Salt Lake with a handwritten note! She wouldnt take money for the cost to ship my wallet back either; truly an incredible DZ!

Today, August 1st, 2018, I was staying in a town for overnight. Since my first phone call before coming, till the time when I was walk out of the facility, I have had experience of a good atmosphere. Didn’t jump, showed up and one of the tandem guys got out of smoking and was dressed in ratty clothes riddled with holes. Completely unprofessional looking. All that keep going through my head was I have no idea what this guy did the night before and I am not putting my life in his hands.

My friend and I had an amazing experience. Everyone at the company was friendly, professional, and extremely accommodating to answer questions about the jump. The jump was hands down the most intense thing I have ever done. It was amazing and it wont be the last time I do it.

Great place to make your first tandem jump or go through the training and become a licensed skydiver! Prices are unbeatable and the staff will keep you safe! They also will shoot video even if you didnt pay for it ahead of time. You can make the decision to buy the video or photos after seeing them or even later since they will keep them saved for a while. I wish I had gotten video of my first skydive!

The Sky Dive has been on my bucket list for a long time. What be better time to do the sky dive than my 80th year. What an awesome experience. The staff at Sky Down Skydiving were great. Im ready to go again. July 23, 2016, what a great day.

John changed my life forever!! I am the first person to say NO to flying, let alone JUMPING from the plane. The minute I walked into the building I felt very welcome. After telling John why I wanted to jump, we were both very stoked to do it. When that door opened I have never been so scared and excited at the same time. I was FREE and flying! Complete BLISS! Thank you again John for changing my outlook on this thing we call life!! I recommend this for anyone going through tough times..or even just to anyone who wants to live!

These guys rock! I actually drove from out of state to come here as no one does it in my state. They were absolutely fantastic! They made me extremely comfortable and the guy I did the tandem with was awesome he made me feel at ease and was fully confident in his abilities without being a jerk.Loved it and would totally recommend it! I also got a dvd and it was great as well! Although I lost it, luckily I had made a backup copy :)

Beware! Skydowns gift certificates are time-bombed. They are only good for one year from the date of purchase and they dont disclose that tidbit verbally. They further wont offer discounts if your certificate expires, youll just be out your money. There are alternatives locally. DZone is in Star and skydive Idaho runs out of Boise.

My husband had a fantastic time the people there are super nice and did an awesome job to make his birthday amazing . We will definitely be going again maybe next time I will get up there and jump out. Thank you guys so much.

This place gets the job done, but the facility is dirty and unorganized, the training videos and meteral very outdated, and Im shocked their airplane was even able to fly! I honestly wont be going again.

They advertised that they would be in the Moscow/Pullman, ID area on Saturday and leaving on Sunday afternoon. Called early Saturday evening to make an appointment for Sunday morning and was told that they were leaving Saturday night. I planned my whole weekend around this and then was unable to go because they did not stay as advertised. If they are only going to stay one day they should advertise it that way.
