One of the best places to go for hiking around LA. Especially if the rock pool were open. Visitors can swim there too. Unfortunately when i was there the rock pool was closed and We just go for hiking. There is a camping area and if you like to stay there at night you can stay there, camp ground is usually full and I believe it need reservation. There is entry fee for each car and you can choose daily or hourly. I like this place and every timeI enjoy.

I love it here. Go in the spring for sure. Ive swam here many times and have always been safe. You can cliff jump just watch out for park rangers. Did a few photo shoots here. You can rock climb here and there are places to boulder. You can go to the MASH site and see the old location for the exteriors of that show. You can hike all over this place. Its great. Tons of trees to hug too! Deer in the morning and parking.

It’s a vast and fantastic park where you can have a lot of social distancing. I saw a lot of families and teenage groups. Don’t recommend going during the sun’s peak because it will be a hard waking until you’re able to reach some tree shadows. Many activities are paused because of Covid-19, but it would be an excellent option for gathering with friends and family over the picnic or lake area.

I expected more. Trails arent marked very well. Too many people were crossing through this one part which was disappointing. We did find some other trail that barely had any people on it. Found some nice scenery. Bathroom at main parking lot, only 2 stalls, private & fairly clean.

Great place for camping, walking and hiking with public restrooms that may or may not be open due to Covid. The creek is especially delightful after a rainstorm as is Earthing in the soft dirt when muddy. Trails are wide and open enough for groups. It is a popular place for photo shoots and I havent noticed any Park Rangers say you need a permit for that, but you might, especially for film shoots of course (Los Angeles and surrounding areas require lots of planning)...during our (my cat and my) last hike, we saw a huge grey Crane and a family of 3 deer. Its pretty dry right now, so the fire hazard is still high, but when it rains and the grass grows, it is lush and gorgeous! There are also some historic trails from famous westerns that were filmed there. I may post some videos and photos on my @HollylandAdventures and/or @Catlection social media pages and YouTube channels.PARKING HINTPark on Mulholland and hike in from the Grassland trail. Its more hiking, but free parking that way. Or get a park pass if you plan on hiking multiple CA State Parks often.

This place was peaceful. Although I couldnt actually enter the park. No dogs allowed. I had mine with me. But I did continue on stopping every so often to take in they scenery. Up ahead we had to off into Piuma Rd due to some construction. But glad we did, the views were beautiful. We spotted the ocean at a few stops.

Had an amazing time here and will definitely be coming back. Coming from Colorado and seeing this place is pretty different. The campsite here was kept nice and clean although the sites are very close together. Lots of life here as we saw rattlesnakes, lizards, other animals and a lot of flowers. The trails here are quite spacious and kept up with the cleanliness as well. The park rangers are very nice, be prepared for a small fee upon entering. I highly recommend its a great hike/walk and good place to get out and see nature.

A wonderful nature park with hidden gems like the MASH set, sadly damaged by fire but still worth going, and the rock pool which is ideal after hiking in the sun. Also saw rock climbers, runners, horse riding and more. Get a map from the parking area for $2 or you could get lost and bring plenty of water! The rock pool swimming area got very busy as the day went on, get there early to enjoy it more peacefully.

Tons of water right now running down Malibu Creek. The flowers are out and it looks pretty amazing April 2019. Went rock climbing this Saturday, wasnt too crowded got to love it. Careful jumping off the Rocks as theres lots of water and the rocks that are usually readily apparent are submerged but only under a foot or two of water so watch out. Or just dont jump at all if youre worried. This is a great easy hike for friends and family.

Not everyone in LA knows about this place! Its a park and also a beach. There are also hiking trails. Not crowded at all like other beaches. Someone was shot to death there last year and then there was Woosley fire. Therefore the park was closed for almost a year.Best place to have a picnic on the beach before watching the 4th of July fireworks. If the parking is full, park across the street at the shopping center where Starbucks is. You can also use the restrooms there. Wear sandals only. This way you can clean the sand off sandals easily. The beach is a long walk but you dont want sands to get in to your shoes.

Historical marker inscription:Century Ranch, A Legacy of Hollywood Cinema. It wasnt only the hit TV series M*A*S*H that made this place famous. Hundreds of films,TV shows, and commercials have been filmed on location at Malibu Creek State Park. Such dramatic vistas, natural beauty, and versatile open space have beckoned Hollywood producers and talent here for decades.Prior to becoming a state park in 1974, this area was owned by 20th Century Fox and known as Century Ranch. Went there for the first time with my family , and we will definetly will be camping there soon (great for 1st timers, which they are). We saw deer right before getting to the camping site, which was also exciting as here in LA County its a bit of a rare site. There is a lot of trails to hike inside the park and near by. If you are from out of state the beach is approx. 25 min away. As for the state park itself there is a river with water (Las Virgenes River)but Malibu Creek is dry. Century Dam / Century Lake does have water and is approx. 30 min. from the parking lot, keep in mind I am walking with my 2 kids ,7 and 4 year olds , so we have a lot of stopping in between and many questions in regards to the environment. Overall I rated this a 5 stars because its a great experience, great to see the outdoors and not too far from home.

We (my husband, 2 kids under 5, and myself) stayed at site #47. We booked this site because it was marked as partial shade and it was near the restrooms. The park is stunning and the bathrooms were clean. Our campsite had such a steep slope that we kept sliding out of our beds at night and our food & drinks kept sliding off the picnic table. There is absolutely no shade at this site. it was 100 degrees at 7pm and 90 degrees by 7am in September. We booked 2 nights but were so miserable after the first night we left. The area was lovely and had we gotten any sleep, we would have hiked to some of the places in the park we wanted to see. The 2 stars are strictly for the beauty of the area. 0 stars for the campsite itself. I would consider trying this place again at a flatter campsite, but my husband said he would never camp here again.
