Very nice spot if you go to the entrance with stone pillars there is a private beach. If your lucky enough to get there first. On the parking lot side you have trails to cliffs, rope swings and private wooded swimming holes. Caution this park is shut down as of 07/24/2020 due to disrespectful visitors leaving garbage behind. Please pick up plant a flower and enjoy this gem. Also Amanita A Rub. Delicious but always do your own spore prints!

Pleasant Point is NOT pleasant anymore. As a resident, I have witnessed under age drinking, drug abuse, complete disregard or respect for the locals living on Simpson Rd. The speed limit is 25 mph, yet they fly by at speeds of 50 mph or higher. These are not residents of Buxton, but outsiders that have come here to trash our community. Please, make Pleasant Point for locals only, or shut it down.

Once a hidden gem and favorite place to escape for a walk, swim or paddle. Now like so many other sweet spots... CLOSED, thanks to the irresponsible behavior of a handful of people that think these special places are here for them to use and abuse at will. We are locals and have been coming here for many years. Within a short three-year span we saw this place go from amazing to overcrowded and completely trashed. We finally stopped coming after being berated by the partygoers for asking them to stop smashing beer bottles and spray painting the trees and cliffs. I miss one of my favorite spots, but am so psyched that the police & town finally intervened. There’s hope it can open again under far better and controlled conditions.

It has decent walking trails and by being near the river it gives a nice cool breeze. Plus for pokemon go players there are 2 stops and a gym.

Nice place to fish. Ground is really packed down and theres a fair amount of erosion due to the number of visitors.

You have got to see this park! as close as you can get to an old growth forest in Maine. Very large old pine trees create a forest canopy that allow little undergrowth. Gives an idea of what Maine was like when only native Americans were here. Restroom at the parking lot. Places to swim and plenty of wood to wander around in looking for odd plants and mushrooms. Found Lobster Mushroom there once!

A great place to swim and jump off rocks into the Saco River. There are some drawbacks though. Many of the people who come here are rude, drunk, and litterbugs.I would not come here with small children nor would I come here looking for a quiet walk in the woods.
