Stockton Outfitters provided an outstanding experience for my dad, brother and myself on our trip. Special thank you to the guides Mark, Matt and Jeff. All three have an amazing understanding of the area and what techniques will lead to success. The food in camp prepared by Chef Kole is both abundant and outstanding. I would absolutely recommend Stockton Outfitters to anyone looking for a Montana big game hunt. This outfit is extremely professional and well prepared for all of your needs.

What an amazing adventure I had with Stockton Outfitters. Hiking through the backcountry, navigating deep in the forest, and most importantly chasing bears. Additionally, the staff are great, the accommodations are very comfortable, and the memories will last a lifetime.

I hunted the first week of October of 2020. The first morning we saw about 30-50 elk. I harvested a cow that morning. The next day we put a hell of a stalk on a bull but we couldnt get a good shot. That afternoon I we saw about 15 deer and I harvested a MD buck. We saw elk and deer just about every day of the 5 days. On the last morning we saw about 50 elk and I got a great bull. We probably hiked 25 miles over the 5 days of hunting. This is public land so dont think you are just going to walk up the hill and shoot something. We put in the hard work and got it done. All of my shots were 350+ yards. With that being said make sure you practiced before you hunt. I was lucky enough to fill all my tags. The temperature was from about -15 to 60 over the 5 days so pack layers of clothing. The food and lodging was good as well. you will get 3 different meals each day. Over all it was a great time and I would do it again.

Mark a big thanks goes out to you and your staff for a great time. The food and accommodations were excellent. The hunting was great. You and your staff worked hard to get us in front of the animals. I would say I would give you and your staff a 10 on a scale of 1-10.

Mark and his staff are top notch. Professional, hard working and pleasant to hunt with. The facilities are clean and in good repair, and the food is excellent. Tastes great and plenty of it. I cannot recommend Mark highly enough. I will certainly be hunting with Stockton Outfitters again.

Stockton Outfitters is a very professional well run organization . The food and accommodations were excellent. The camaraderie around camp among both hunters and guides was relaxing and enjoyable The guides all know the terrain very well and are able to maximize what is provided to them in terms of environment, terrain, weather, and animal sign,. They give their hunters the best possible result under the circumstances. This a public land hunt, not a farmed/canned hunt. Youll need to work for your results and trust your guide. It worked for me and was an experience of a lifetime.

ProsAll the staff is very professional and accommodating.The lodge is very nice, new, and clean. (Get a first floor bedroom unless you like your room very warm)The chef was very good.Montana is beautiful.ConsYou only get two meals a day (breakfast at 6:30 lunch/dinner at 3:30 and a dessert around 11pm). They do have snacks available chips, bars, fruit, jerky, etc but a couple of us were hungry most of the time.No bears were killed out of 5 hunters nor were any presented with any opportunities in 5 days.Two bears were spotted the entire week. One was too far away. The other was visible for about 30 seconds going through the timber and we were unable to locate it again.If you are looking for a nice place to stay to see the mountains of Montana, with friendly staff, good food, and a slight chance to see a bear this would be a good place for you. (Only 1 out of 5 hunters even saw a bear and that was for 30 seconds running through the timbers) Zero shots fired all week. Zero bears killed during the 2019 season up to this point and I went third week of the season.) all 5 hunters left earlier.If your main goal is to harvest a bear I would check other locations. We ran into 4 guys in the airport who all harvested a bear through another outfitter and they paid $1500 less than we did.This is only meant to be informative to other hunters so they can get info to base their decision on where to hunt and which guides to use!

I have to say my trip to Montana with Stockton Outfitters has more than exceeded my expectations. Mark and his staff were so professional and tried so hard to make sure that we had a great experience. The accommodations were awesome, the food prepared by not a cook but Chef Kole was great. The staff wanted to make sure they did everything they could to get you in front of Elk. If you did not have a great time it was because you did not want to. The territory that you will Hunt is amazing. I would highly recommend Mark Shutey and Stockton Outfitters for an experience of a lifetime. Mark, thanks again and looking forward to my next hunt.

I am a 72 year old Vietnam Vet and have now been on 2 guided spring bear hunts with Stockton Outfitters (2017 & 2019). My first year out, I ran into a monster chocolate phase bear early in my hunt and got my shot. The 2019 season was more challenging, but also more enjoyable for me as it wasnt until the final evening that a nice black bear showed himself and I was shooting again. Free chase hunting is unpredictable, but in my two hunts with Stockton Outfitters, I garnered 100% shot opportunity. These guides and outfitter are truly the very best in the business. They accommodated all of my special needs and truly take the sport to another level. Its not the trophy, but the attitude and experience which create lasting memories for me.I highly recommend Stockton Outfitters to any hunter looking for a quality Free Chase hunting experience.

Spent 5 days hiking and sitting in the backcountry of Montana. Didn’t even see a bear... come to find out that they hadn’t even killed a bear the whole spring bear season.Which by the way started two week prior.The guides where where polite and always willing to accommodate you,the food was good and always readily available.But if you want to spend 4-5k for that.. this is your place. But your more likely to kill a bear sitting on your porch at home.
