Friendly service for a large party. Please note Hanging Five is COVID19 compliant. No groups larger than 10. Breakfasts are HUGE. You can probably feed 3 children on a kids meal. Regular meals can probably feed 2 adults, especially if you order the Ginormous Cinnamon Roll, see photos for scale, I suggest splitting it.

Tried the breakfast combo with eggs, link sausage and pancakes (with added blueberries). The eggs and sausage were overcooked and dry; I ordered the eggs soft-scrambled so they didn’t get my order right. The pancakes were passable. The waiter was attentive and the service was decent for such a crowded restaurant. Your mileage may vary.

Ordered to go. Very, very impressed with everything. Great customer service. Very good food. Ordered chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Both were excellent!! The chicken fried steak tasted like my moms homemade one. Biscuits were good and flaky and the gravy was perfect. So good! Will definitely come back next time we are in Butte.

Overall had a great experience. Staff was very knowledgeable/honest about menu items. Offered great suggestions. The portions were quite large, you could share a plate easily. (And I’m a big eater). Had a small problem with our order, but they took such good care of us!

Great diner with a local feel. The breakfast combo was great. Wife enjoyed the halibut sandwich and the onion rings were good. Daughter enjoyed the bison burger.

Overall I had a good experience here. The waitress was very attentive (but not annoyingly in any way). I ordered the chicken fried steak meal and it was pretty good. The only complaint I had was the salad. The bleu cheese dressing is very runny, and you get lettece with a tomato slice, as a garnish. I would definitely throw a carrot slice and maybe a radish... But it definitely needs something...

Its rustic decor is a reminder of my younger days. The people are friendly and the service is timely. Mostly there is good food.

The absolutely best Reuben sandwich I have ever had. They tell me they make their own corn beef.FANTASTIC!

Staff were very nice but the food was under-whelming: canned sausage gravy, dry roast beef, brown lettuce, etc. When we told them about the lettuce, the reply was that she would go check out the bin, though it was clearly on my plate.

Great breakfast,sausage links were big, big portion of hashbrowns. Wheat toast was very good. Service was good and breakfast came fast.

This is an excellent restaurant. Food outstanding and service the same. Bang for y buck is excellent, just dont order to much. The servings are large. Pictures was eggs benedict and a Spanish omelette.

If youre traveling and looking for a home cooked meal then stop in. I was absolutely amazed with our service and the food. Our dinners werent loaded down with salt or overly seasoned. It was done to perfection with all the right seasoning so you tasted your meal. We came in late and were told you can order anything on the menu. Breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime you want. Our server was so kind and helpful. We had a newborn baby with us and he was very patient with our delays in ordering. I highly recommend stopping in.

Price is reasonable for the size of portionsAnd service was good and the restaurantWas clean. Gave a four star because no one is perfect. Otherwise enjoyable.

Today we went to breakfast. We love their food and service. However, when we were leaving, an older couple went in without masks and they were allowed in despite the mandate by Governor Bullock. We will not be going there again even though it has been one of our favorite restaurants. I am so disappointed that they did not ask them to be masked and that they did not abide by the governors orders.

I don’t review often, but this place was awesome! Food was great!...I had the Pasty and couldn’t finish it and it was only $10...our bill for 4 people was $54 with 2 microbrews on the tab. The pasty was perfect and my kids’ meals were equally great...2 grilled ham and cheeses and a steak quesadilla. Also of note, our server, Mateo was as good as it gets! Definitely try this place if you’re in the area...we’re probably coming back for breakfast before we head out of town!

OUTSTANDING SERVICE, SO FRIENDLY, and great food thanks a bunch for the hospitality in BUTTE MONTANA almost made me want to move here. Monday and wensday have patsies which is a local favorite its more or less a beef pot pie so good with brown gravy oh yea heaven I was in....

Great customer service. Great food. Huge portions for reasonable price. Slight whistle coming from kitchen heard when sitting next to the bar on the east side of the restuarant. 8/10 would eat there again.

Had the chicken was very good served nice and hot with a big bake potato salad was fresh and the staff was first rate good prices too.

My favorite place for delicious omlets and even a decent assortment of dishes suited for a vegan. The restaurant is however packed but not often have I waited for a seat or a booth. Not an issue is the slight wait time when they are busy because whats served is fantastic and satisfying.

Home made everything..... a little pricey but worth it

This is a great breakfast place in Butte. We have stayed overnight in Butte on our way to yellow stone national park and this was the place we had breakfast in the morning. The waiter is super friendly and the service was super fast. The food is delicious too. Definitely recommend if you are around this place.

We just moved here from Colorado and this was the first restaurant we tried. First they were rude to me before I ordered, and we ordered burgers but all it is just the patty no bun or nothing. And last but not least our fries taste stale..Now I know not to go there again.And now that I got my burger in between two slice of bread, the burger has absolutely no flavor whatsoever by far worse of the worse.

No better food in town, if you like big servings and great prices its a must stop

Although the food was good here and I do recommend there Buffalo Brothers the service was atrocious we were standing in their Lobby for more than 25 minutes just waiting to have somebody come up and say anything to us there was no recognition although the servers and hostesses and looked at us multiple times and when we brought this to their attention they said Oh well that happens at this time and that is just not acceptable in a service industry

The staff is amazing, professional, and eager to give the best customer service possible. The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is the food. Im hoping it was just an off day for the cooks. I usually guage a place based off their chicken fried steak, especially if Im eating there for the first time. It was honestly awful and the hashbrowns werent much better. Eggs and pancakes were good though. Will give this place a second chance when we come back.

Highly recommend! Everyone in my family of four thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Our server was great and you could tell he really enjoyed working there.

I ordered corned beef hash but what I received is more of a potato meal. Theres two lbs of diced potato and only an ounce of corn beef chunk (no joke - see attached picture). You can count the chunks with your fingers. I ask the server if theres a mistake. She said thats how they make them. I wished I ordered something else. Im not going to eat there again.

I love this place. Home cooking. Clean. And a professional staff.Just beware of the carrot cake...yum

Friendly atmosphere, food was excellent and price point very reasonable.

My mother and I are from out of town and were looking for a good hometown restaurant. The hanging five did not disappoint!! The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were great. But what topped off the whole experience was our waitress Mego! She was excellent at describing the items on the menu and was on top off everything. Thank you hanging five we will definitely be back.

Full size REAL loaded baked potato with real large bacon strips, and real cheese!!!! with an ok sirloin steak. Will be coming back when I pass through.

I tried waffles, hashbrowns muffin. Waffles are nice but the hashbrown is not good. Muffin is ok. Mcdonald is lot better compared to this if you dont like to eat waffles. I gave 3 star for the waffles and service.

Yuck! I had the Buffalo Burger Steak with grilled vegetables...dry overcooked hamburger/meat patty with a frozen vegetable mix that was thrown on the grill; browned in spots but soggy. Just yucky.

Great breakfast stop! Breakfast is served all day. Very generous portions. Sandwiches are good too. Its busy, but worth waiting for a table. Staff is friendly, never an empty coffee cup.

We just stopped for breakfast and it was fabulous! My husband and I shared a 5 egg, mother load omelette which came with a large pancake with strawberries and whipped cream. It was so good!! Service was great! Food came fast, no long wait. The price was very reasonable. Best breakfast we’ve had out for the price in a long time! Great job all!

Very down-to-earth place with friendly staff. Good portions & home cooked food. We had the country fried steak (what they are known for), wild rice, sirloin steak, mashed potatoes. The country fried steak was the best Ive ever had. Definitely a come-back place for us!
