Such a Genesee County Gem! Was visiting my Mom in Flint and met a friend at For Mar! Moms lived in the area her entire life and had never been to For Mar! She was VERY impressed and felt much better after some time in Nature away from the election! ME TOO!!

Only giving 4 stars cuz all of the indoor stuff is closed because of Covid19. I came here as a child with my school to learn about nature and had a blast. Once everything is more normal it will be 5 stars again no doubt.

For-Mar is an amazing place to get in touch with nature. My wife and I took our wedding photos here this last Friday and it was gorgeous. The leaves were beautiful, the fall air was refreshing, and we even saw 3 deer! It was such a beautiful nature preserve and we will be back very soon to see how the other 3 season look!

We had a wonderful afternoon there. The grounds are very well maintained. The trails are great. Everyone should step out and enjoy.

I took my kids here, and they loved it. We got to see deer, bunnies and turkeys while were walked through the trails and they also lived the butterfly house. The trails and surrounding woods are very well taken care of. Will definitely be back.

Love the walk n creeks extreamly peaceful .. lots of animals to be seen from little squirrels to larger deer .. birds n turkeys it was a absolute well rounded relaxing walk n well kept area .. people were doing photos in the meadow areas , it was brisk out but was perfect for it ..

Nicely maintained. Enjoyable walking experience. Not too crowded so you can socially distance. Theyve got a butterfly tent!

I love going on walks here, and being able to enjoy nature! Its a beautiful park, and they do an amazing job keeping up with it!

Nice hiking trails and scenic views. The butterfly house was very colorful. The tree house was closed due to covid, but it was nice to hike up the approach and get a feel for the educational aspect of the structure. We were also impressed with the bridges; they had such craftsmanship in their assembly.

Wonderful place to go and explore. Recommend to anyone who likes to be outdoors.

This place is beautiful year round. Always a family favorite and the kids have a ton of fun every time we go. Kits of easy trails and fun things to see and do for the kids outdoors. And its not far from home.

Great place to walk around and see nature go with famil all the time doesnt cost anything. Workers are great and love nature. They have exhibits and classes for lots of things.

Butterfly house is amazing. Stopped in yesterday and there were deer everywhere. The employees here are awesome.

Beautiful trails, an informative interactive park center and a tree house that can be rented for parties. Lots of ponds, at least in the spring when weve visited. Just be careful of getting turned around, its very easy to do.

Ive been intending to visit for decades. Should have gone there much sooner.Very tranquil. Cant wait to return.

Its a gem that most of Genesee County doesnt seem to know about. Wildlife goes about its day mere feet from you when you explore its trails. Beautiful all seasons but the fall leaves are gorgeous when caught at the right time.

Great park for walking, no smoking, no pets allowed. Running and biking not allowed on trails. Perfect.

Lots of good trails through the woods with scenery of the creek, open fields, woods... They have a butterfly garden, picnic table pavilion, nature learning center, and open fields with trees to relax in. Very peaceful and relaxing!

What a beautiful place to wander and get down with nature....doesnt matter if spring, summer, fall or winter! Wonderful trails, cool tree house, nature center has some great exhibits. Grab a friend, the kids or enjoy some me time! You wont regret it

Sit, walk, stand, just watch nature, be sure to be quiet to see nature come back out. Seen turtles, birds, frogs, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and so many bugs, trees and flowers

Incredible little preserve. I dont think many realize the beauty that is so close to them. Its a great safe place to walk. As of 11/2017, with winter approaching, I would recommend a hiking shoe or something able to keep out the water, as the trails outside of the paved areas are slightly messy, but easily passable. Its a wonderful place that id recommend year round. Also as of 11/2017 a northern portion if the preserve is still under construction for some reason. It may close a few trails, but wont lessen your experience.

Beautiful preserve with a ton of wildlife to see. Deer grazing up close, a variety of birds, plants, and fungus. They also have an awesome butterfly enclosure along with different events on most Saturdays. Highly suggest for a nice walk and sensational scenery!

One of my favorite places to go. I love the nature center, butterfly house, treehouse, and all of the trails. Great for all ages. Good to see a place where nit only you can learn about nature but preserve it as well

Nice trails, easy to hike. They have a butterfly tent. The nature center is amusing for the kids when its open. Same for the tree house, which was also on HGTV.

Always a great time with the kids. Staff is always informative and friendly. Seen the giant snapping turtle eat a koi fish today!

Absolutely gorgeous out here. A great place to go for a quick walk or to clear your mind. The air is fresh and clean, and the sounds are pure and beautiful. Its quite a great place. Ill go here anytime.

Clean area, animals are very healthy looking and not shy at all, the deer seem to not fear my wife and I. The workers and staff are very respectful and with that being said we will continue to enjoy the wonderful outdoors filled with beauty right down the street from our home.

Nice social distancing measures in place and beautiful gardens open. Definitely recommend for a nice walk.

An awesome place for a nature experience, long or short walk, picnic and an exhibit of Michigans wildlife. You can see turtles, birds, deer, chipmunk, squirrels and more. Awesome tree house as well.

Specifically looked it up to see if dogs are welcome. Drove all the way to For-Mar to be met with signs saying no dogs allowed. Huge disappointment and waste of my time and day.

Beautiful place to go. Safer than you would expect for the area, as a 20-something female I have gone jogging there myself quite often. Beautiful landscape great for photography!

Had the best time here, walking the trails with my grands. So many things to discover along the way. And a fun learning experience for the whole family. We really loved the butturfly garden. All native plants and butterflies.

It was very nice . The Treehouse and Arboretum are closed right now but the Butterfly House is open . We walked a bunch of trails and the kids even loved it .

The staff were very helpful, giving us a map of the trails and mapping out a nice route. Saw a bunch of chipmunks and then a few deer right on the side of the trail. The flowers in the butterfly house were beautiful, a couple leftover butterflies had the place to themselves. Looking forward to hiking more of this County Park.

The best place around to go on a safe and easy hike alone or with little ones/family and friends. So much to do inside and out. Treehouse from treehouse masters is awesome. The arboretum is open daily and a lot of educational fun plus they have a lot to rent for any length of hike in any weather.Love all of their unique activities, especially the full moon hike and apple cider making. Really unique and fun ideas for kids birthday parties.There is so much to do here for free or under $10 its a must frequent!

Love walking this trail and so does my kids but pets are not welcome. My puppy is a family member and he cant walk outside with us

This place is beautiful. They keep it looking nice, there is an awesome treehouse, and an indoor area. A free must visit place for anyone who loves nature. Especially fun for kids and would work well for a romantic date as well. I have been visiting this place since I was a child and still visit. Best in the spring.

Taking walks through the trails is very serine and peaceful. My daughter and I have seen deer on several occasions back in the woods and at dusk they come out in the fields near the front of the park. We love to go there and never miss the opportunity to check out the monarch sanctuary. Its beautiful.

Always love coming here. The visitors center is fun. They have many local animals that the staff will bring out occasionally so that you can either hold our touch. The trails are well maintained and go through a variety of habitats. They also offer a very wide range of programs and hikes. You can also check out different activity backpacks.

Nice place, just not for photographs. The trails are well marked and not difficult but its best to leave the camera at home.

I love taking walks here it’s so peaceful. I used to bring my son here when he was younger & he loved to watch for deer & he got a bird caller & would watch for birds. I was there just last summer & took my boyfriend there he had never been there before & he had lived in Flint almost his whole life.

Always a new experience coming here, I visit a few times a year and always enjoy seeing the wildlife out here.

Such a little Gem nestled in Genesse County & one of Genesse County Parks. So, much to see & take in. Fascinating Facts & Projects Going On. So, many things to see . Very Educational too. There is a Cool Educational Treehouse Located here. There is a unique Bridge to Cross & Hiking Paths to walk on. There are all kinds of Wildlife too see too. There is a Butterfly Area Project here too. Lots of different Insects & Plants & Trees & Ponds to see & Explore & Learn Along The Way. And Its All Free To See.

Really cool place to explore! Very helpful naturalists and staff who work very hard to make nature accessible to everyone. Love the facility and all of their exhibits, and the comics are really cool!

I absolutely love this place! Its so beautiful all year round and very well maintained. Great place for hiking, picnics, photography, and just getting outside and enjoying nature. Many trails and scenic spots to enjoy or take your kids to visit the tree house or nature center, which are both very educational and fun. I could go here every day and it would never get old.

Loved taking my infant here last summer. It was a weekday so not much was going on but the staff was great. They showed my daughter a baby turtle right up close!Our all-terrain jogging stroller handled the well maintained trails and some off-roading like a champ. We walked, my husband fished and we played in the grass.Looking forward to taking her and the dog this summer when shell be walking.

Staff is wonderful! Knowledgable, enthusiastic and eager to share this lovely place with all who come through the door. Not what I expected when I came to Flint...

The best place to learn yourself or your kids about nature. School doesn’t teach our kids like For-mar. The employees are very friendly and you can have your kids birthday party there also. Throughout certain warmer months the they do have different activities to do for the whole family outside and indoors.

Its always a nice place to get out in nature and explore. Theres also a decent chance youll see at least 1 deer.
