This independent bookshop is a true gem. A consummate bookstore with a great and varied stock of items (including vinyl and other rarities), in addition to some of finest customer service Ive ever encountered. They went out of their way to make sure my shopping experience was one of the best Ive had. The staff -- mainly Norbert, Ben and Lucy -- went above and beyond to ensure that I was able to have a swift, easy, and very satisfactory transaction. I look forward to doing business together in the future. Five Stars. I cannot recommend this shop enough. Thank you again! -Alek

I go to all of the bookstores in Burlington that I can. If I am looking for something weird, out of print, or uncommon; I come here. The shelves are stuffed with beaten paperbacks that are a joy to explore and peruse. The staff are helpful and nice. And the prices are good to the avid reader.

I ordered a school book online through here. They wrapped the book very nicely and carefully in a personal envelope, and they even included a cute bookmark. I just thought that was really sweet. Normally the process of purchasing books for classes is very impersonal, but they managed to turn it into a very sweet gesture. Also they had the book cheaper than anywhere else and it got here extremely quickly! Very happy.

Speaking Volumes is a gem of a bookstore which has the following characteristics: a helpful, friendly staff; a large selection of books which, I should add, are of a wide variety; and an enjoyable atmosphere which is accentuated by the well-chosen music I’ve often heard playing as I browse. Shopping here is enjoyable in a way that is not always easy to find these days.

This is a lovely used bookstore. The one watching the store was very helpful and friendly. They had so much more to look at than the used bookstore on church st. Definitely will be returning!

Great selection of original pressings from the most obscure Toronto punk band to Michael Jackson. Each time I visit Burlington I stop in at Speaking Volumes and I always walk out with a treasure. Can’t wait to put the original pressing of the motion picture soundtrack of “Cabaret” on my turntable. Seriously, where else would I find the “Cabaret” soundtrack. Oh, and prices are exactly what I would expect for original pressings.

This is a gem of a record store with the best selection around and fair prices for originals with no cheap reissues. Plus you can get audio repair and great advice on equipment. A must for any audiophile.

Amazing selection of old books at great prices. I was really impressed, especially because I was able to pick up oddball out-of-print rarities for only $4

Well organized, great selection, but prices are outrageous...about 2-3x what I can buy the same album for online. I understand the idea of a slight markup for rent and the record store experience, but these prices were significantly above that. If.youre gonna shop for records here and are on any sort of budget where.money matters, try another store or discogs. No way Id pay these prices.

Of all the used record/book stores I have visited this is the one that was the best organized. I just couldnt believe the way everything is well labeled! It is packed with stuff but you have no problem going through everything by your particular preferences. Definitely recommend!

Easily one of the rudest people Ive ever dealt with. I wouldnt give this man my money, if I were on fire and he controlled the water supply.

The owner is super rude and arrogant. The woman there is nice. His collection was decent but not really worth the money or dealing with the prick
