A week ago, I visited the area for the first time. I am dying to come back! This was an absolutely beautiful place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the nearby area. Definitely worth the drive, even if it takes a whole day! The views are incredible, and its awesome to be able to be in a beautiful cove in the middle of the hottest desert in America! The lake is massive, so youll never feel like its crowded, and jet skiing is an absolute MUST when youre there. I cant wait to return!
Its hard to know when a water is up or down at this place. Its very nice we enjoyed it every time period but if a water is too low try going up or down from the park.
Its was great place to get away from work..Enjoying my family and getting to know how it feels family...Great time to have fun with the family together. Going to make plans for September...
Great family swim area. We took our grand kids and they had a blast.
I loved it we want when it was night so I layed down watching the stars
Beautiful area! Especially to bring family and little ones!! What a way to let loose, enjoy food, and enjoy the water
Excellent spot! We went on July 12th a Sunday at around 8am and there were already plenty of people. It really started to get packed after noon. My advice, show up at 6am to get the best tree shade spots or come later and bring a canopy. Bit of a walk to get a spot if you come late though, so get a wagon to place all your stuff in or be prepared for a scorching walk to get your stuff back in the car when you leave. The shores are sandy with smoth rocks in about ankle to knee high waters and then sandy again from waist deep onward. Bring swim shoes if you plan to get in and out of the waters frequently. I was diving and doing some light pole spearing and the waters were clean with plenty of fish swimming around and coming fairly close to shore around noon and one of the few places still open even after the COVID weekend beach closures in Laughlin and Bullhead City. You do need to pay to get in though as it falls under the Park Service. Im not sure how much, but I believe it was $25 for a single car with no boat. I sprung for the annual America the Beautiful pass for $80 to get access to all National Parks and Rec Areas for unlimited visits for a year. Overall great spot for a morning swim. Be warned it gets uncomfortably hot after noon and the wasps start coming out looking for food. Several people around us got stung. If I were you, Id come early as possible and leave by noon. Otherwise, be prepared for bugs, 120F heat, sunburns, and some crowding. Social distancing is in effect, though masks are not enforced so the park service will limit the amount of traffic if it gets too crowded. I was at the southern end of the cove, but the northern one is very similar. They are not withing walking distance though. North cove allows dogs and motorized watercraft launching. South does not allow dogs or motorized craft launching. Inflatables and plastic non motorized craft are ok in both coves. Neither one allows camping though. South cove has covered picnic and grill areas, along with bathrooms. Not sure about the North cove as I only walked through for a few minutes. Overall great exlerience, would definitely recommend. Will be sure to go again, but will show up earlier next time.
Its do peaceful plus the people you meet are super nice and love to invite you to thier bbq make you feel like part of some memories of meeting great ppl
Very fun and beautiful many fish come by you and just swim my kids loved swimming and renting a bout and water rider.
Murky. Grassy. Smells gross.
Telephone cove was nice but to get to the water it was extreemly mucky and you would sink to your calves since they lowered the water level.
Good spot with no boats to swim. Get there early as it will get crowded. You do need a pass.
Our family loves the lake. Rocks are not bad in this area
It was so serene and nice tables with shade
Its a nice place to go swimming.
Just look at all the water and places to gang with family and make memories memorable! Local shopping and dining. About 20 min. from Laughlin, NV. Admission fee/parking required before entering State Park. Boat launch available from separate entrances. See map.
Love Coming here when we dont take the boat
Beautiful location. Bring your own shade and if you go on a holiday get there super early! Popular destination. Clean lake and beaches, 25 per carload to access park. Multiple beaches to choose from. There are also cabins and an RV park.
Great family time on the water..bring your boat or jet skis and lay beach side with friends and family. Cost to enter park. You can grill and bring food. Multiple families come out and get to know your neighbors for the day. We have been going for 15 years. Get there early to save a spot then enjoy the day!!!
They have really cleaned up this beach a lot. North beach allows leashed dogs and bbqs, while south cove is a no dog, no fire beach. North has a public life jacket station open and free to the public. It is a little more rocky. South cove has soft sand, more shallow water, and some natural shade. Nice family spot. They charge $25 for a 7 day pass, so plan accordingly.
Great place to relax
Cool clear water thanks to the Hoover Dam filtering system.
Ample parking, safe area to swim for kids, covered tables/bench
Get there early! Bring lots of water, family friendly. Calmer water compared to river.
Clean beach, roped off so you can swim.
Nice area. Pretty hot bring plenty of water and sunscreen. I did not bring enough sunscreen and suffered the consequences
Best place to camp for the day on the lake shore line and boat. Clean and clear water.
Amazing views!!!
Too durty
Been coming here for 20 years! Always a fun time whether its the swimming side or the watercraft side.
The water was nice and it wasnt veary hectic and I would definitely go again
The baristas made me feel at home. Im a barista myself so it was very sweet for me to feel that somewhere else.
Was great. Porta potty needs to be flushed out tho.
Nice place to chill out!
Awsome place to just kick back and relax....
Beautiful place
Beautiful place. People are animals, need to clean up after themselves.
Dope place to take dabs and Bbq.
Been going here for over 30 years kids love it
Love how quiet and family oriented it is. Its hot out but the cold water feels great....bring your floaties..and be prepared to have fun.
Well it was fun but there was a lot of algey so it kinda of ruined our swimming experience
Nice picnic area. Had the area to ourselves
Nice place to take family
Come here every summer from Seattle ️ we love it
Really great for the kids and family.
Nice beach to take the kids. No overnight parking
Nice place to swim with plenty of sandy shoreline. Only problem is that this area attracts a lot of drunks. Water level is usually high in the summertime, but that could change in the future with the ongoing drought.
Its lot of fun but gets crowded fast and some people dont understand personal space, other than that I love going there every summer!
We love it, its a place to relax with family and enjoy the lake.
Great place to kayak. Hope people would respect the area and keep it clean.
Good place to camp on Lake Mohave, dirt boat ramp here but as long as the water level is high its never been a problem launching here.
Great spot to chill
Very good thanks
Yearly family vacation....great times, always
Easy to get to.
This is my piece of heaven....complete serenity.
