Many Gwinnett cities have amphitheaters and Buford has a good one. Adjoining city hall and looking over Buford Highway beyond, the shape is a half circle with gently sloping grass seating. Its a bring your own folding chair venue. There are walkways leading down and across the area making it easy to get where you want to be. The staff was friendly and parking was plentiful. Concessions are conveniently located which are necessary since there is a no cooler policy. They serve alcoholic drinksAcoustics are OK, about as good as they can be for this type of open air facility. Upcoming concerts vary from free to paid performances. The police presence was low key but substantial which was reassuring with any public gathering in these days of crazed shootings. My wife and I had a very nice time.
We love this Theater! We live in Sandy Springs, an hour drive, but come here several times a year for plays and concerts. Both the Theater and grounds are beautiful. There is an outdoor amphitheater and open grassy field. Not a bad seat in the house. We have sat in the front floor, back floor, front balcony, back balcony; all good.Tip if you want a place for your drink sit in row K on the floor, M in the balcony, or a box.Snacks and drinks provide by Proof of the Pounding, a little pricey.
Great facility. Most important to me was the play was fantastic. Also a little presentation about the history of Buford by an interesting gentleman was a pleasant surprise. Please go and have fun!
Nice cozy little theater. The building itself houses a museum and other arts functions and clearly was very expensive. The seats were perhaps a little *too* cozy, but thats a complaint of just about every theater seating Ive been in that has been constructed prior to 2000 or so.
Enjoy the small communal venue. Have seen a variety of musical and theatrical events there and always had a great time.
Went to see The Importance of being Earnest. Beautiful place, cramped seating. The play was really great.
Not a bad seat in the house. Am always surprised by the level of talent. I shouldnt be by now
Great production, only negative is the seating . Way to tight. No room to get up and get out without the whole row moving out. Poor planning on design.
Saw Chloe Agnew here. Acoustics were perfect and the theater itself is beautiful!
The theatre is inside the Buford Community center bldg. It is a Beautiful building, and a beautiful little theatre. My wife and I saw Its a wonderful life and the performers were fantastic. The whole show was great. They had a concession stand with small snacks, popcorn, candy, coffee, hot chocolate, beer, wine, and spirits. We had a great evening and will be back.
Saw the stage play, Foot Loose. The seating provides great views for everyone. The show was fantastic for a local theater performance. If you like live stage plays and or musical stage plays, this is a wonderful venue to consider, the theater at the Buford Community Center.
Great venue. Not a bad seat in the house
Its ok,customer service could be better
Went to an antique show and it was great. They keep this place extremely neat and well manicured. Great place for all types of and fun!
Went to see the play 49 steps. The theater was beautiful and the play was wonderful
I had a nice time . Very nice place . A lot going on here .
It is clean and the space inside will gives you the illusion of an actual modern classic performance art center

This theater is BEAUTIFUL! Love the Buford Museum that is inside too! Proof of the pudding supplies the snacks try the delicious yogurt/berry parfait = YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Cant wait to see a comedy act there or live musical performance...saddened by the fact the the theater group is leaving because they were outstanding! Looks like a Fantastic venue for a wedding too!
Quaint, intimate setting great for local theater
Beautiful facility, clean and regale.
Great venue, enjoyed the performance!
Overall, a very nice theater, just a few years old. Only downside is that the seats are small and cramped, which surprised me.
Great place to see a show..
Beautiful theater, very intiment
My 9 yr old niece had a performance at this theater. The theater was stately and very well maintained. I am so glad that she has this exposure and that she willcontinue to blossom from it.
The performance of these middle school students was amazing.
Unbelievably rude! My children and I recently attended a 10a performance at the Sylvia Beard theater. A family with two toddlers sat behind us, and the children literally SCREAMED and loudly cried multiple times throughout the show. The show was aimed at a child-friendly audience, but there is a difference in happy noises and screaming! The parents talked in very loud voices throughout the performance, and worst of all, the theater managers did not have the family step outside! Once home, I contacted the Director of the theater and the Buford Community Center describing our experience. The total cost of tickets for my family was almost $100. This performance was meant to be a special Christmas treat for my children, but was an absolutely miserable experience overall. I asked for a refund, or for comp tickets to a future show. The response was a brief, curt email telling me “the Community Center does not give refunds or comp tickets.” My tickets were purchased through Goldstar, but that was not purported to be the reason for the lack of refund; the theater policy was said to be the reason. Nothing can justify the Buford Community Center’s extremely rude response. Before attending any event at this theater, I recommend checking third-party websites for the cheapest tickets possible, because if your experience is as bad as the one my family had, you will receive an appallingly rude response by their (lack of) customer service.
Excellent shows quality entertainment
Excellent acoustics, intimate setting, and top notch performances.
Very good place
Wonderful small theater venue. Very intimate, no bad seats in the House.
Really nice local theater. Big and clean. Expensive bar.
Thinks that they can decide what their paying customers should and should not enjoy.
