This is a very nice park. Buffalo is fortunate to have such a nice park with a beach walk, playground, canoe rentals and even a large chair to take some nice photos. The small splash pad is inviting on a hot summer day. Its a park for all ages and interests. The music trail is a unique park amenity we observed adults and children using.

This is a nice lake-side playground, pavilion for concerts, and picnic area. The kids like the playground because it has gravel and fun rocks. In the summer, there’s often an ice cream truck there on Thursday evenings!

It was a kites on the lake gathering today and we enjoyed it very much even though it was really cold. It was fun to watch all the kites, dog sled rides and there were food trucks and tents set up for kite making and warming up. Definitely will be c coming back next year.

From concerts in the park and the Buffalo Days carnival to peaceful sunsets at a family gathering, Sturges Park captures the spirit of Buffalo. You can rent stand-up paddle boards, peddle boats, fishing boats, or a pontoon, as well. Enjoy the walking path or the wonderful library nearby.

Clean, beautiful park. They have a really nice walking path along the lake and a really cool playground area. They host music events and other activities there too. There is a fishing pier, but fishing from it is so so. The water stays pretty clear for swimming. The view is absolutely gorgeous, especially at sunset.

A fun place to hang out, but overall a bit underwhelming as far as parks go. Dont swim in Buffalo Lake if you dont wanna come out with a third foot, its pretty gross. The park itself is alright for what it is, and the trees are beautiful during autumn.

This is a good park. Not great. The playground is small but well kept. Lots of musical things to play with. Trails and a public beach. Parking can be VERY limited so be aware.

Whats bad to say about this place!! So much to do and so much to see, a place everyone can enjoy. A must do if you love outdoors or have children. Trust me go check it out for yourself!! Let me know what you seen and enjoyed the most!!

Right next to the lake and a public beach. The playground isnt huge, but has enough to keep kids busy for a while. Theres a nice path along the water with music instruments to play scattered around. Theres also a band shell here.Short walk from the main street type area where theres a great book store and ice cream shop.

Sturges Park is a great place to take your family for a picnic, for a walk, or for one of the Tuesday concerts at the bandshell. A few years back, the Buffalo Community Orchestra raised up a great donation to put instruments around downtown, and quite a few are in the park. Theres also a group of exercise machines by the bandshell that were put in about a decade ago. Its a great park, and sees a lot of use by families and local schools. Great location as well. Grab some ice cream and relax by the lake.

Great place to have a birthday party or family reunion. Or just to take your family for a picnic and enjoy the lake. The BBQ grills are very convenient ..make sure you bring your charcoal and lighter fluid. Picnic benches easily accessible.

One of my favorite places in Buffalo! A wonderful place to bring the kids to play on the playground, experiment with the various musical instruments that line the sidewalk, or have a picnic while enjoying the view of the lake. Its a great place to catch pokemon for any PokemonGo players as there is numerous Pokestops. I love that there is a theater, if youve ever the chance the Concerts they put on here make for a nice night out.

There is so many things to do there with your family. Play ground, walking paths, lake beach, musical instruments, and so much more.

Its a park on Buffalo lake. Has a band shell and live entertainment throughout the summer months. Also has a skate park that is well enjoyed by many.

Pretty for in the middle of town. The lake is DISGUSTING. Its smelly, slimy, and I think a bit TOXIC... Nasty. This is obvious to the locals and people familiar with the area! If you want to go somewhere that you can actually use the lake for swimming, boating, etc. Pulaski is for that! If you are just interested in the park its beautiful, large, filled with large trees. It has a playground for the kids, bike/walking path, pier, flower gardens done by the locals along beach, small concessions building ice cream, drinks, etc. Theres also rentals available for paddle boats, sail boats and pontoons. Also in the summer theres concerts in the park at the stage, movies in the park, and other fun events. So its great for a park and things to do... as long as you stay out of the water... lol..

This is a wonderful park, its on a lake so you can rent boats in the summer, and in the winter they put an ice rink on the lake where you can rent ice skates. There is a grand strand for weekly music in the park celebrations. The Buffalo days celebration puts the carnival in the park also. There are pavilions that are also available for rent. If your hungary they have public grills available.

Enjoyed seeing family. The park has picnic tables and a nice play area for kids. Grills also to use. Buffalo lake is home to Sturges park. In the town of Buffalo. You can reserve areas for your family parties. Bathrooms And a few porta potties. Sad to see the lake brownish green I suppose from run off of lawns and roads. We got there about 12:30. And tables were already being used. It still was enjoyed by us. We in MN are blessed to have so many lakes and parks to enjoy. To bad we take our many lakes for granted. And not take better care of them. You can also launch boats along with fishing peers to fish off of. Lots to do there along with rentals of water toys. Not sure of park hours. Easy to get to along county rd 25.

Wonderful playground, great place to watch sun go down. Lights at night if you are taking a walk. Security cameras help, so you feel safer. Bathrooms are clean. Great place for picnics.

Good park for the kids and big enough for a decent walk around the lake. Very nice amenities. Music park features are great for the kids too.

I went there to eat a picnic supper before starting the retreat at Kings House. Overall itsa nice park. But in order to get to a picnic table by the parking lot you have to climb down a pretty steep hill. And the picnic tables were strangely built with the seats very high up and that made it quite the challenge to eat! If theyre like that for kids, great, but theres still a distance from the seat to the table. Never in my life saw tables built like that.Nevertheless it looked like a park I could take my grandchildren if we lived closer.

The best park in Buffalo! Right in the heart of down town, there is a walking path leading from Sturges to the lake, the splash pad and the library. There is much to do in the area... Picnic tables/grills, skate park, playground, beach, music trail, fishing docks, boat rentals, an amphitheater for concerts in the park, outdoor fitness equipment, one of the many buffalo statues and if your lucky you might find one of the enormously popular Buffalo Rocks, rocks (Search Buffalo MN Rocks on Facebook). Like many parts of Buffalo, Sturges Park has a great deal of history, it was once part of The Big Woods and had a great deal of native American history as well. The Sioux Indians once hunted and fished in the area. And while many assume Buffalo is named after the large hairy mammal, it is actually named after the big ugly fish! For more history visit the local library and check out the book Buffalo: From Trading Post to Star City written by local author and school librarian Marcia Paulsen.
