As a Frank Lloyd Wright appreciator, the house itself could never disappoint. The restoration is beautiful. What made our time at Martin House even better was the informative tour led by our docent, Dave, who was clearly passionate about the house and its history. The two-hour tour was a great overview of the Barton House and the Martin House’s main floor and upstairs main bedrooms. Wish we’d booked the longer tour so we could see the basement. Will be back in summer once the garden is in full bloom, as it sounds like that’s prime time to visit the property!
Its a terrific place. Beautiful & the staff makes it enjoyably informative.
I had an awesome time on the two hour tour of the Martin House Complex. It’s the only FLW complex that has working-class, middle-class, and upper-class homes in the same area. The tour is a bit expensive ($90 for two people for two hours). But the money is going to an excellent cause. If you’re not that into architecture, I recommend the one hour tour. You can also walk around the complex and photograph the outside of the homes. The neighborhood is awesome to walk around as well. Enjoy!
Steeped in history and wonderfully maintained. A must see.
This place is incredible if you love architecture.
Seeing the beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house is enough reason to take a tour, but on top of that you’ll hear fascinating stories about the owners, the Martin family of the Larkin Soap Company. We’ve done several tours!
So clean and beautiful
Its ok
