We stayed the weekend while our home was being shown in a Columbus and were lucky to have a really amazing spot on the water where we could fish and watch our three sons swimming at Buckeye Beach when it wasn’t crowded (we are observing social distancing and self-isolation). Everyone had a great time and everyone was so hospitable and kind. We’d definitely go back! Our only issue was we didn’t get great cellular service with TMobile/Sprint but we did really get to unplug which was needed!

We stayed her this past weekend for our anniversary. The staff, campground and lake are all amazing. We woke up to a vase of flowers and a note on Saturday. Above and beyond our expectations, we will definitely be back

This was our first visit here and it was amazing. Its quiet with lots of shaded tree cover. Staff was amazingly helpful and the owner, though busy, always took time to make us feel welcome and assist with anything we needed. There are so many updates going on here but its kept quiet so as not to disturb tenants. The fire pits are great ( very high quality)and the lots are big. There is more than adequate space to spread out. It seems like every lot has a wonderful view with a playground for kids, a climbing wall on the lake, a stream, fishing area and zip line across the water. The newly updated concession stand has good food, bathrooms are kept clean. I just cant say enough about this place. Newly updated electric and water at each site. Only issue was that there was no septic at the site but I was assured it is already in the works. You guys are tops! Thank you for the amazing weekend.

Owners are very nice and super accommodating! The park is well maintained and clean. There are big things happening! They just recently opened their brand new creamery. They have ice cream treats and hot food!

My wife and I had never been camping before 2017 and I personally was never interested in fishing before 2017. But my wife loved fishing and I thought a great gift for her would be to buy a Camper. I am nearing retirement and was looking for a permanent RV Campground to park our new Camper. I had visited a few Campgrounds and reviewed many others when a friend pointed me toward Sunset Springs. I met the owner Brian there in March and loved the layout of the Campground. Also as Christians we connected with each other. The Lord blessed us with a site that was located by the pond. And yes, I ended up fishing right off the bat and I am now a certified fishing nut. We loved our first year at Sunset Springs and we were involved in many of the weekend activities. I personally spent at least one day there on every weekend in 2017. Brian and Cassie were always very pleasant and helpful to my wife and I. We are very excited about moving to the Lakefront site posted in the picture. With all that being said, I just dont understand the few bad reviews that I have read on here. But to each his own. This was our first time here and we like it better than some of the more expensive campgrounds. Its quiet, clean, not crowded and has some great improvements coming. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. We had read a few negative reviews, but they must not be valid. The rules are basic courtesy and common sense. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!! We plan on coming back for sure!!

My husband and I recently spent the weekend in the ‘Getaway’ cabin at Sunset Springs. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of by Brian. He showed us around and made sure all of our questions were answered. We were the only visitors while there and it made for a truly relaxing and quiet getaway. The cabin was very cozy and clean. We absolutely loved our time here and will be back.

We started going here last year, it was a pleasant surprise for our first year of camping. We really enjoy Brian and Cassie and their hospitality to make us feel at home. We like it so much that we renewed for next year along with 2 other of our friends. If your looking for a quiet peaceful campground to enjoy your family and friends, you wont find any better place than this. It makes camping so much more fun when you have friendly people and clean campground to go to. Highly recommend this place.

This has the potential to be a 5+ rated campground given some time for the owners to continue on their path of improvements. Owners are very friendly and courteous...will definitely stay here again whenever passing anywhere close. Would even consider doing a worker/camper arrangement to help out for a month or two...

Owners are very family oriented they do lots of activities throughout the season from arts and crafts to fishing tournaments. Bathrooms are very clean as well as the waterfront areas. Lake has rock walls, several slides as well as zip lines! If anyone is looking for a quiet family friendly campground be sure to come on down and check it out.

This is my Summer Home I Love it.

The owners of this campground act very nice. But believe me its just a front. If your fire pit gets moved from where they put it. They yell at you and tell you to put it back. And make sure you clean your fire pit out at the end of the weekend. Because if you dont there is a 20 dollar charge for that.. make sure you ask for the policy handbook and read it carefully. Unfortunately we did not receive one like they have said. But other than this one time I have had a good time camping at this resort.

Your customer service far out exceeds any expectation I could have ever dreamed of. The people in the campground are so nice and friendly. The campground is going through some very nice upgrades and the owner is helpful with any issues that needs addressed.

Had a wonderful weekend..It was not only beautiful and fun but was very clean and the everyone was soo friendly we will most definitely be back!

The owners are very nice, and that was very much appreciated! However, the campground needs some major improvements. We stayed there last weekend and the breaker kept tripping no less than a dozen times for a whole row of campers. It was a hassle, continuing to reset the breaker at the electrical box and at one point our freezer has the digital temp. on the door and it was at 10 degrees.... which tells us our power was out more than just a few minutes. But if you are paying $45 a night to camp, I would think working electricity would be expected. Another thing that is not conducive for the weekend campers is the dump station. It is in a field, no stone or driveway and it is not level what so ever so when your trailer is leaning that much you will never get your tanks all the way empty. Also, there was no water inflatables/trampoline on the water. Their Lake had so much green algae on it, I had to break it to the kids we werent going swimming in it. I wish all the best to the owners and hope they can make this place a gem again some day!

We absolutely love camping here. We are in our 50s and our children are grown, this campground offers peaceful settings and a lovely lake. The staff and owners are very attentive and willing to make sure your stay there is enjoyable. The lots are not crowded and there are plenty of places to walk and enjoy nature. We come back every season.

Great family owned campground! They are busy working and fixing things up. We had a blast fishing, and spending time at Buckeye beach. Everybody was very nice, the kids loved it, we cant wait to go back!

First year of staying at this resort and absolutely love it! Activities every weekend for the kids and they love the fishing and swimming. Owners are very attentive to any needs that weve had, and have found them to be very gracious people. Beautiful quiet place for families. 5 stars just because there arent 6!

It was me and my familys 1st visit, this past weekend and it was very nice. We saw signs of many great upgrades on the horizon. Though the weather hadnt allowed for the inflatables to be out, our groups kids had a great time with the slide, diving board and zip-line. Its only a half hr or so from where we live and well be back often to see the upgrades and watch this gem grow.

This is a wonderful, quiet, family friendly campground. Our kids feel comfortable walking by themselves to go fishing, the beach or the bathhouse, which was recently remodeled and is amazing! There is always something fun planned for the kids. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

I highly recommend sunset springs for your camping experience.. the owners were very nice and the park has a cool layout that isnt like your normal side by side..they have activities for everyone to do and it is a beautiful and relaxing area to be. We liked it there! We were there summer of 2017.

Wonderful campsite! Fabulous Owners! Stay over night or for a season. You will not regret it. Lots of renovations have been done. The bathroom/shower houses are new, as well as the laundry room. Lots of activities for both kids and adults. The kids will love the beach! Brand new cabins will be coming soon.

We have camped here for 10+ years. We have seen lots of changes during that time. Nobody likes change but sometimes its necessary. This young couple have bought this property and have a vision. Its their vision and their business. There have been lots of positive upgrades! It takes time and money, they are making progress. We love our summer getaway and look forward to future upgrades! As for who they are as people, they have only ever been kind and respectful to us. If you show respect you will receive respect. They are good Christian people. Christians are not perfect! None of us are! They have a love for their family, their friends and their business. Please come try out this campgrounds! Absolutely beautiful piece of nature!

The park isnt good its all messed up the beach is good but u have to wear a life vest and I dont have the wrong place because my camper is there and the beach is open because my family had a Fathers day party there its open to the public because my other family members went and dont have a RV there

We enjoyed our two nights here on our way west. Very friendly owners, a nice clean site, on the waterfront of the pond. Clean showers, bathrooms and laundry. We had no power problems even though we used our air conditioning a lot due to thunderstorms and humidity. Locals and seasonals seem very friendly and we felt welcomed.We would certainly stay here again if we are near Bucyrus. We didnt get a chance to try the beach.

Ruined our community when I was young we would go down to the river and enjoy fishing and canoeing but this new group took over a couple years ago and ruined it for all the little ones and front of it is nothing but weeds and grass.

Quiet atmosphere

This place is a wonderful get away and has been a great home for me since May 2017 (it is July 2017 now). Cassie and Bryan continue to make this place improve daily and have been extremely curtious to me and my family, when they were able to visit. Along with these lovely views of the lake, trees, birds, fireflies, chipmunks, and squirrels, are the floating toys and zip line on the swimming side of this lake. I never had time to fish, due to work, but I see and hear them of the evening. Supplies are really only about 10 minutes away, in either direction. The surrounding campers have been a pleasure to be around, possibly due to the owners not allowing the wrong crowds to congregate here. I would recommend this place as a destination, and if Im around again, I will come here. Thank you Sunset Springs for the blessed experience.

Brian and Cassie are wonderful hosts!! Super friendly and accomodating. They are working hard to constantly improve their campground. Enjoyed using their brand new laundry room before we left. Their shower house is also brand new. My kids absolutely LOVED the weekend activities and games, along with the super fun swimming lake with zipline, slide and trampoline. Great scenery and beautiful trees. The weak electricity would be my only complaint but all the rest makes up for it. Definitely will go back if in the area!

My two kids love coming here with the grandparents. They always have alot of fun. Nice activities for them to do. They cant wait to go there everytime, that says alot with kids.

Very unfortunate, It used to be as a child that a summer day would not go by without a full beach and a very fun environment camping. As of recently new owners have taken over. Though from what I know they are nice enough people but I really do not think they know how to run a campground. It a shell of its former self. With dozens of other places to camp locallyI would highly suggest visiting on of them. No public beaches the place is all but empty from what Ive been told and seen most of the time. No community. When you reject your local cliententel And develop a bad reputation of over bearing rules and the destruction of legacy and memories. Why bother. They nickel and dime every aspect of the experiance. To the Owers remember people have options if you are not making a friendly affordable fun experiance people will vote with $$$$ and it shows thats happening.I will be doing that my self and highly recommend others do the same.

To strict of rules 1st and last time we go, adults that know how to swim have to wear life jacket, not impressed at all, heard it used to be way more fun before new owner.

I have been going here for years and look forward to it every year. It is peaceful and the other guests there are great.

My husband and I were told we could have up to 2 tents and 6 people on a camp lot in the electric and water area. When our friends arrived they were told that they had to get their own lot. Very confusing. $45 a night per site turned out to be an expensive weekend for us. They have improved this place some (bathroom), but still not worth the price. The swimming area is taken up mostly by the water trampoline. This camp caters to the permanents, not really to the weekend campers.

We use to be permanent campers at another campground. My husband decided he wanted to travel instead. We had a man come through our campground looking for a new campground. New owners bought sunset springs and was changing things. Well of course we had to check it out. The second time camping there we became permanent campers. We have a beautiful site on the water . My husband and I were always loners especially me. We have meet some good friends there.Brian and Cassie are the campground owners but they are also family to us now. So someones bad review lead us to where we belong.

Nice Campground too many rules and regulations

Buckye beach is a quaint little watering hole and a great place to hang out with your friends to cool off on a hot day.

Went for a 4 day getaway over 4th of July weekend with our 3 kids, 7, 5, and 2. The kids loved every minute especially the zipline, slide, and sandy beach. Bathrooms and showers were just redone and very nice. We had a beautiful campsite for our popup with mature trees and a 2 level site. The owners hosted a beach party pig roast for the Holiday that was delicious. They were so attentive and kind. They helped us get setup and made sure we were level and had fire wood right away. They camp store has plenty of ice and goodies for the kids including ice cream. Cant wait to go back!

The owners of the campground are very nice and helpful. They are always making improvements to the resort, like the New showers, keeping up with the lawns n trimming tress. They said they will soon have a laundromat.There has been plenty of events, almost every week since we got there, going on our 3rd month now. We even won the GRAND PRIZE IN the Rubber Duck race on 4th of July weekend, $2,000 also won an additional hundred dollars..They have got a lot of big fish in the pond and lake. Swimming at the lake complete with a Zip line and a big floating trapiolin. I highly recommend this place for a traveler on work or for a seasonal camp.

Used to love going here with my family, but ever since the new management this past year 2016 my family an i an alot of others not so much anymore. Alot of people have actually comoletly stopped going out this year an also moved theyre campers out this yes. Its sad. Yes they have made it look better but its not out favorite anymore!
