I went here on a college field trip a few years ago and was absolutely fascinated by some of the less seen treasures they have in an out of the way roo. There were some interesting gold coins, cuneiform tablets and a mummified hawk!

Good collection, good space - my only issue is that I have never been to a museum in my life were staff talk loudly to one another. Maybe there was an event on or something, but every room had a conversation happening.

This impressive college campus museum is a great hidden gem. The new wing is underground, so its largely goes unnoticed, but its always worth a visit, the exhibits rotate often enough that theres always something interesting to see.

This is an amazing experience to attend regularly or just once. The pieces on display and articles about them are so accompanying and laid out in a way that is a very natural timeline flow (or laid out naturally dependent on the artwork they have on temporary display). I especially enjoy poking into the movie theater display (even though Im probably remembering it by incorrect words LOL). In this theatre you can find videos for the artist groups that are being highlighted. There is obviously a great gift shop here no notes necessary. A very kind thing in the community is that the admission fee is donation-based and that gains extra respect from me.

Easy to navigate free museum. Currently Winslow Homer exhibition downstairs. I had no idea he did so much work during the Civil War . He did use cameras at times. The exhibition spans his whole career.

I am amazed that nobody has completed a review of this museum! It is a real jewel with inspired exhibitions and incredible lectures. The collection is diverse and has something for everyone to enjoy. The directors and curators are knowledgeable and excited to share their wisdom with the public. I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful museum in my backyard!

Museums are free on university campuses, and this college boasts both an excellent fine art museum and the anthropological Perry MacMillan arctic museum. The campus has lovely tall pines and shade trees, perfect for an after-art picnic, and is just a short walk from downtown.
