This is a spacious well-maintained golf course and facility. In spite of moderate drought conditions at the end of August the course was in excellent condition. The layout is challenging but very enjoyable. After a midday round with a temperature of around 105 and a heat index over 110, we stopped at the bar/grill and enjoyed a well air-conditioned recovery with very pleasant waitresses and staff. If you’re out this way it’s a great place for a day of golf!

Overall, a fantastic experience. The course has a good level of challenge, was in great shape, and really has the feeling of a Texas ranch. The staff was quick to say hello with a smile and the upstairs restaurant has plenty of great options for post-round cocktails and grub. If you find yourself an hour southeast of Abilene, you should definitely play the Hideout!

Beautiful Land, Great people. The staff was very nice. We were invited through our Family member. I just have to say I love this place and Ill be coming back. Membership is worth it completely.

I can go on and on about my experience at The Hideout. Ill try and keep it short and sweet. I was traveling to Eastland and did a google search with a 60 mile radus for courses to play on my trip. This place popped up with great reviews but not alot of pictures to go by. Ended up getting a 1237 hot tee time on golfnow for $25 + fees. I was paired with two high school golfers who were 0 handicap so I was a little intemidated on the first couple holes. I ended up playing really well. (Shoutout Casey & Slade) The course was in tip top shape. 10/10 recommend stopping by and playing a round. Great clubhouse and had showers to use after the round. It looked like some sort of members locker room. I had no issues getting cleaned up and relaxing on the patio. Everyone was polite, helpful. They also have small cabins you can stay in for a little golf getaway. Come check out this place! The Hideout Golf Club in Brownwood!

Took part in a wedding taking place here. Food was great. Entertainment plus staff did a great job.

Had the hamburger with french fries. It was the best burger I have ate. It was delicious.

Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Golf course is challenging but fun. Afterwards cool down in the pool with food and drinks from the cabana. Always a good time.

What a great golf course. Went there to watch my sons high school tournament and was impressed at well the course was taken care of and how friendly the staff was. Cost us $21 to rent a cart for my Dad and I to follow the tournament around.

This is an incredible property that is so full of unexpected amenities. You need to see it to believe me. One could host a wedding, family reunion or other large function with all they have and so beautiful as well.We will be back.

The view here is wonderful. I had their burger and fries for lunch and it was quite tasty.

No amenities if your at rv site , no restroom , laundry,pool jacuzzi, WiFi., no tv or phone reception . Site is ok but treated. as second class citizen if your coast to coast member. The food was very good and reasonable

Not sure why there is not a sixth star to choose to give the Hideout a better rating. I was impressed with the staff being polite and helpful. The golf course was in excellent shape. One of the most scenic courses that I’ve played in Texas. It is a challenging course with four sets of tees. The tips play 6981yrds with great elevation throughout the course. I will be traveling from Lubbock to play this course again soon. This is a must play course if anywhere near Brownwood.

24 guys went to the course for a two man scramble and it was awesome!! Course was perfect, greens were in great shape, food in restaurant was a good as I have had anywhere, hotel rooms were perfect, golf pro helped us get everything ready. I dont know why anyone would go anywhere else. Try this course out, you will not be disappointed.

For being in the middle if Texas and having the traffic it has... this course was in amazing shape.

Our family has had the pleasure of eating both dinner and lunch here. It was absolutely amazing both times. The staff is very sweet and courteous. We are full time RVers and our family is staying here for a couple of weeks. The Hideout is clean with a homey atmosphere. We highly recommend eating here if you are in town!! Beautiful golf course with amazing views. You will not be disappointed!!

I bought land on the fairway and was notified last week that the New owners would not be putting in the road or utilities as was promised in my land purchase as well as the other land owner on my street. I was told to come in and “the generous new owners” were going to trade me (and the others in my same phase) out to a different lot and they were only going to charge me the difference in lot prices. I asked if the new lot was still on the golf green, the answer was no. I asked if it was going to be a strait across trade, the answer was no, the lot would cost more because the land had appreciated. I asked if i could just build on my land and put in my own septic, well and power source, the answer was a definite no.Well guess what generous Hideout sales and new owners!1. I have legal documents from closing that say you will provide these necessary roads and utilities . I paid your price, now You need to make good on Your promise or I, and others, will take legal action and You will pay the legal fees.2. If the lot your generously going to offer me in in in trade has appreciated in value than guess what? Mine has appreciated as well! imagine that?3. The poa dues I’ve been paying for land you now tell me is basically not usable is unethical, charging me for services that i cant utilize is not cool.4. You say the new owners cant afford to put in the roads and utilities you promised all of us land owners when you took our money but your facebook and robo call from JR brag on all the new amenities, over 2 million actually, that your new owners have spent. Hmmmm i dont believe the court system is going to buy your excuses with the proof that came right out of your mouth.5. We are a large group of educated, hard working people who trusted you. This is no longer the case and we are banding together to force you, through the court system, to make good on your contractural promises.

Well manicured course in a nice setting. The Brownwood area is a typical dry West Texas climate experience; however, the greens were soft and the fairways were lush. The green fees were not exorbitant and the beers were three dollars apiece.

Had a great experience at The Hideout Golf Club today although the greens had recently been punched and top dressed. I loved the course layout, very open and no blind shots. Course fairways are in good shape. Bunkers are very well maintained. My wife also played today and she also loved the course. From the time we checked in until the time we departed The Hideout everyone was very friendly and very helpful. We met the course superintendent and he apologized for the condition of the greens (a few of the greens had a few spots of fungus but they are working hard to correct). This course is one of the best in Texas.

We had a groupon for the Hideout golf resort and had a wonderful time. The room was incredible -- big, comfortable with all the amenities. It opened to a wrap around deck with a great view of the surrounding scenery. Wonderful pool and spa area. The golf course is very nice. Wide fairways with a little challenge added in. Always good to get that Texas roll. Had very nice meals and happy hour in the bar. We will definitely be back when we are in Texas again.

Great facility. I decided to purchase property here a few years ago when I saw what the developer and the investors visions were. This place is a hidden gem.

One of the nicest courses I have played at personally in Texas. If you aren’t a member the prices are still very reasonable compared to a lot of other courses around. If you get a chance, make sure to check this place out!

This course is fairly open and will likely lead to a great day on the score card while still presenting you with some challenging holes. The course was very green when I played and the greens rolled very well. Updated clubhouse with multiple amenities including stay and play.

Ive been hearing about how great the food was at this place for years and never managed to come out and try it until this weekend. Ive been missing out. We ate on the deck out back right at sunset and the views are incredible. Amazing environment for a romantic dinner. The beers are super reasonably priced and a decent selection at that. We split the pulled pork nachos appetizer. The pork was great, but it seemed like someone microwaved the cheese on the chips for waaaay too long and it was hard as a rock. Then we split the 14oz ribeye and it was perfect, even considering my boyfriend ordered it medium and Im a rare or medium rare only type of girl. The staff was so very attentive and friendly and very apologetic that there was a bit of a wait for our food. We didnt mind at all though. Definitely planning on coming back next time we come through town and probably spending the weekend!

Great Golf Resort with lodging, swimming pool, Restaurant is super high quality with inside and outside dining, a bar, friendly staff, a beautiful 18 hole golf course, driving, range, and good crappie and bass fishing pond. Family friendly with hot tub and swimming pool.

The course was great however the staff was not interested in helping unless you are a regular. The course is hard to find because there is no signs showing the entrance form the main road. Could be so much better with proper signage to the course and on the course showing where the next hole is plus the staff should be much more helpful in the club house.

Quality of the food has gone down and the prices went up. The waitress was great. With this formula theyre headed for less business......at least from us.....sad

My visit was great. I was really hoping I could have been approved to take a tour. I have cash money to buy property, but I couldnt get a tour for some reason.

I purchased a Groupon for a couples golf weekend. When trying to make the arangements with the golf course, Mr. Shaw was incredibly rude and condescending. When I asked why he was being rude and if thats the kind of customer service they offer, he told me yes and thats the way they like it. He went further on to tell me that I we are not the kind of people they want at their establishment. I would be willing to bet money that he didnt care because I told him we were coming from four hours away. Just like the review above, they arent very friendly if they dont believe you have the potential to be a regular. Of they are this rude to everyone, who would ever want to be a regular. Maybe that is why they have to offer Groupons begging people to visit their establishment. I got a refund from Groupon and would never give them a dime of my money.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! They were incredibly rude!! They were mowing and watering the greens in the middle of a tournament and you had to dodge the mower. Overall terrible experience!!
