Heard about the Bad-News, how do we support your efforts?Discovering the Puppet Showplace Theater takes you into a wonder-filled world of live story-telling, not just for children but for adults too!I had the fun to see an adult presentation, where we were transported to the fantasy world painted by talented story teller.I have taken the time to edit together several photos from the end of a Jan-2018 convention show from the Boston Weston Hotel and look forward to seeing him and his fellow cast members tell another spellbinding tale.

We had our twins 5 year birthday party here. They easily and professionaly accommodated 40 of us (including adults) for the puppet show that was also open to the public, and for an hour party after it was closed to the public. Our kids and their friends really enjoyed the show, and the space for the party. I would recommend this for great children entertainment and as a place to host a childrens birthday.

So impressed! Having grown up on the Muppets, I think its so cool to have a puppet theatre in town. The shows feature different kinds of puppetry, with events for kids and adults. Loved the kid friendly lobby, with coloring paper, toy puppet theatre, and even fidgets to bring into the show.

So cute! Worth every penny. What a great introduction to live theatre!! Brought my almost 3 year old daughter, and she loved it. They organize the seating so the kids arent sitting behind tall parents, while there is still the opportunity to sit next to your child if they feel more comfortable sitting next to you. Cute lobby if you need to take a break.

The show was a first showing sneak peak. It was a good thing I read the program synopsis to my 5 yr old grandson. The only comment my grandson said was why didnt the puppets and Lady talk. I have to agree. The story line was clever but, they need verbal communication.

Adults can enjoy these shows, too! Cried laughing.

Although I had been to Puppet Showplace Theater when our son was young, I didnt fully appreciate what an incredible resource it is until I became a grandfather. I have two granddaughters, six and eight. I began taking the 8 year old when she was three. She enjoyed the shows so much, we started doing puppet-making workshops together, and her interest in puppets and childrens theater was launched. My younger granddaughter was at first a little afraid of the strange puppets talking to her in a dark theater, but once she caught on, she couldnt wait to go up up to the puppeteers after a show to look at the puppets, ask questions, and even make suggestions! I myself am very interested in the performing arts, and Puppet Showplace Theater is the perfect way for grandparents to begin sharing their performing arts interests with their grandchildren. Dont miss this opportunity!

Puppet Showplace Theater is one of those places everyone in my family feels at home. From hand puppets to shadow puppets to object theater; from adult shows to family shows to classes, there is so much to offer here that enriches our lives.

When I discovered the Puppet Showplace Theater existed near me, I got super excited. Ive been a fan of puppetry since I was a kid (Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock, Muppets!), so I was definitely curious to see what they had to offer. Luckily, they offer quirky and compelling adult entertainment such as Puppet Slams (works-in-progress, original pieces, and unique content geared towards adult audiences) as well as shows with really powerful content (shows on disability, refugees, racial injustice). The staff are super-friendly and engaging and appear to really value their contributions to the arts and the community. If youre in the area as a long-time resident or just visiting for the day, definitely check it out. If youve got kids, they have a continual mix of shows, programs, and classes that kids can have a blast at.

Such a fun afernoon at this cozy theater. Perfect outing on a blustery Fall day. Always offering new, creative shows. Although the program was targeted to young audiences, moms and dads wil be entertained as well. Definitely eager to return soon. Good price point for the quality.

A winner for both kids and adults. A creative puppet theater that brings in interesting performers for various age groups. Check the appropriate age group on the website before you see a show. This place supports many independent artists and is very conveniently located near the subway and on-street parking. It has a membership program and offers birthday party packages.

We arrived for an engaging show with a 4 1/2yo soon after moving to Boston, and now our daughter can’t wait to receive her Puppet Showplace postcard of upcoming shows. We often arrive via the Brookline Village T stop across the street, and upon entering the theater, find ourselves transported to another part of the globe, in awe of some inspiring marionettes, and amazed at the shadow puppets. During a recent visit, we learned about some tiny little monsters and their antics to find their way home, accompanied by live music. As members, we love the variety of shows and themes, ability to visit during a school break and/or weekend shows, and the break on member tickets. The members afternoon tea in early October is a fun and lively addition to our Autumn calendar. We have found staff to be very helpful with our questions and genuinely engaged in ensuring a fun visit for all, especially during my daughter’s 7th birthday at the theater.

Well done, funny, and kept my daughter and myself entertained. Shows rotate and we are looking forward to go back. Bravo!

The puppetmaster was very good and the place has a good feel to it. This time my kids were not very much into it and got bored after 15 minutes.

We were invited for a birthday party, the show was great! The lobby is somewhat small but it’s still ok for a bunch of little kids.

What a delightful creative experience! Just saw Lollipops for Breakfast by the Gottabees. My FAVORITE way to introduce children 3 and up to the theatrical experience!

Brilliant creative shows that entertain adults and their children. Dont be fooled, most shows are sophisticated enough to really engage 5 6 and 7 year olds

We went for an evening Puppet Slam show. Although the Puppet Show place Theater usually caters to children, this show was geared for teens and adults. An awesome time was had by all!!

Wonderful & serious presentation of puppet shows. Serious as in a respect for the art. Ive seen many shows there with my kids and theyve been enjoyable on an adult level too. Very good place for a birthday party too.

I went to see Galapogus George last weekend. A great show in a great space. You dont have to bring kids to have a great time.

Kid friendly. Great puppet shows. You can buy puppets in store. Small but effectively maintained. Take tickets online because the place is always busy.

Not many places like this exist anymore. Professional operated puppet theater close to Brookline village t-stop. They offer plays for various age groups. They also offer to host birthday parties. Shops and restaurants close by. Also access to the muddy river walk way.

Really wonderful shows from a variety of companies. We love going here with the kids, you see something different and special every time - so lucky to have this place near us!
