This place is first-rate and roomy, the meals was enchanting and the rates were very affordable. fast, effective service and very personal staff. Highly recommended.

I don’t know what happened tonight. But I feel really disappointed in this dinner. Everything is salty. And the service is kinda rude. Don’t care about the feelings of customers. Only care about what time u pay. Feel so unhappy tonight.

Best experience of curbside pickup service ever!They were very busy when I was there. The person whos taking care of curbside pickup was so kind to follow up with my order. Im so impressed with the service and quality of my order. On top of that, they also use extra virgin olive oil which is hard to find. I just cant wait for my next time to dine in. Our family has been going there for years. The food is always delicious, fresh, and taste just right. But tonight it was extremely good. Excellent service, because tonight was our 54th wedding anniversary.Thank you Golden Temple.

Horrible! I went for lunch and I ordered the golden temple ribs, fried rice and beef with oyster sauce. The food came almost immediately, the rice was old and mushy and pretty much reheated, the beef wAs tasteless and a lot of sauce. This food wasn’t fresh. The worst chinese food I’ve ever had, and very expensive. One star for the ribs that were ok.

Through the years this staple in Brookline has been going down hill, but my latest delivery order was all but nasty. I always order temple ribs, NEVER again. I paid $80 delivered for 3 orders, I literally threw out a total of 2 full orders after picking the edible ones out of the 3 cardboard containers. They were the farthest from fresh & too tough! Yes I still have my receipt GT..I only wished I had used a cc as I would dispute the charge.. NEVER EVER again!!!

Okay, so first let me tell you what I dont like about Golden Temple. I dont like paying $20 for valet parking. I dont like the traffic going there from Lynn. The tables are too small, chairs arent comfortable and the booths are cramped. Its loud. But still I have to give them 5 stars because the food is so freaking good! My top 3 favorite items are the chicken fingers, salt and pepper shrimp, and the Golden Temple ribs. Everything is great. Very consistent quality. It is always worth the trouble of going there. Very satisfying.

My wife have been going to Golden Temple for many years, but moved away a couple years ago so it has been a while. I was great to be back this past Friday. The food is way above average Asian food. The pad thai is superb. Spicy Green beans - excellent. Love this place. Our server, Alice, was excellent.

Food was good quality with very large portions. We had a large party and our elderly server often seemed confused. But after having to repeat the orders multiple times, he got everything right. The nightclub is a fun addition, though the DJ was pretty awful. Despite the bar being busy, was always pretty easy to get a drink as bartenders were paying attention to make sure everyone was served.

Weve been coming here for over 20 years and I can say that Golden Temple has some of the best Chinese food in the city. The prices are a bit high, but, the quality is unmatched and the service is excellent.

The atmosphere was nice. We were the only ones in there for an early dinner. The waiter was a little less attentive than he should have been. He disappeared for long stretches of time. The food was very unimpressive. Everything was exceptionally salty and a little too sweet. I got a dish that was supposed to be spicy but it wasnt. I was with three other people and none of them got anything they were happy with. I definitely wont be going back there.

Can’t tell from the outside but the place is pretty great looking inside. The food we chose was pretty good, and the waiter was pretty accommodating. Their plate portion for 2 could be a bit bigger and they could invest in some more comfortable good looking chairs. Overall I would definitely go again.

The food is great. But once you allow people to bring in their dogs and shaking all over the place. Im ready to go. I didnt get to finish my food. I was very upset. Dogs should not be allowed in a place that sells food like that. And people should be more understanding. They could of took their food to go eat at their family table. Why bring a whole dog to a restaurant? And the manager should of had them move. First time and may be my last time.

Campy, surreal, your cousins bar mitzvah-esque... Whatever you want to call it, its good fun. Stop by Golden Temple on a Friday or Saturday night for an evening you wont (or maybe might?) forget. Great, nostalgic music and heavy pours. Go with a big group of friends for maximum effect.

No combination plates, have to pay an extra 20 dollars just for chicken. If you dont have 50 dollars to spend dont even bother with this place

Drove from Southie to pick up some Golden Temple after a recommendation. The food is very good, tasty, high quality but the portions of what you get, while fitting for a single sitting of four people, for $100 doesnt match most Asian cusine choices. Maybe its that much better but the price isnt worth it.

Driver was late, called my phone using an unknown number expecting me to pick and returned to the restaurant to close and then deliver my food. I ordered over $40 in delivery and they managed to still offer this kind of service. Highly disappointed, when GrubHub notified me they were trying to reach me the driver had already left.

Old but gold are the only words to describe GT. My favorite dish here has got to be the long mien noodles with lobster sauce. They also serve some of the best ribs in town - hands down. The cocktail that takes the cake for me here is the pineapple marinated in stoli vodka - excellent stuff.

Authentic Chinese food in a place where youd expect Chinese food for non-Asian palates. Please keep it this way! Restaurant was clean, staff were friendly, and street parking was free after 8. Would recommend the pea shoots with garlic ($13 USD is a GREAT deal), House Special Chow Mien was saucy and crunchy, and chicken wings were like the ones that come with prawn chips in banquets (except no prawn chips). Large plates and reasonable price. Would come back again if we needed to impress someone with clean, authentic Chinese food.

I love this neighborhood Chinese place - not only for the food, but for the atmosphere. The menu includes most of your normal favorites, only made with fresh ingredients and less grease then most take out Chinese places. They have many gluten free and vegetarian options, so most anyone can find something they will enjoy. While they do take out and delivery, they also have a large dining room with a beautiful curved ceiling and romantic lighting.The best part, however, is after is over it turns into some sort of nightclub. They clear away some of the tables and blast music. The bar serves well executed Chinese inspired drinks (read: strong) and the clientele is one of the most diverse you will see in Boston. If anything, it is the best people watching you can find on a Friday or Saturday night.

I love this place cause the food is high class

I went for the dancing, which starts after 10:30 p.m. Its a small dance floor with a fun vibe. There is a mix of ages, which is nice. Its a perfect way to get your groove on without having to deal with downtown clubs, if thats not your scene.

DJ was great though it does attract a mixed crowd with slightly older folks; nice pumping dance floor! Fun times

Ive never seen anything like it. A Chinese restaurant turned night club. This place had people of all ages, including a lively senior crowd, dancing and sipping cocktails to a DJ playing all kinds of throw backs. And yes, there were glowsticks.

Not as good as it used to be. Service was slow. Chicken finger batter was not the same and looked like the oil was changed in a while. The GT spare ribs were horrible and burned. Drove down from New Hampshire as it was a favorite when living in Boston. Not sure about that anymore. 5 stars though for ambience as always. Great place for the right appetizer and some drinks.

Sorry to say did not get to try the food..Sat at our table for a half hour with no service at all,not even a hello be right with you. It was Mothers day,and I was looking forward to a great meal..Needless to say we left and went somewhere else . You were not that busy, other diners were getting served.

Very rude employees! The lady who was working in the front humiliated me by screaming at me for walking to the wrong side for an order I went to pick up. She spoke very rudely and acted as if I wasn’t human. Very rude and unprofessional. They need to learn how to treat everyone equally and with respect. The midaged woman who was working at the front had a nasty attitude. That’s not how a business should be ran! If you don’t know how to treat people then don’t do this job!! I don’t know what the problem was but she definitely didn’t have a reason to be screaming when there were no problems! She was just extremely rude and disrespectful.

Been going here over 12 yrs.. The food is delicious.. I spend big money there on holidays and special occasions.. The food unfortunately is also over priced. and they seem to raise their prices every year.. The customer service used to be really great but I notice the past 5 yrs ..its become quite surly and unfriendly. The only pleasant one was the greeter when you first come in.. then when you go around the corner to pick up your meal ( I do the take out option) the employees behind the desk dont even acknowledge you. then curtly ask your name, w flat dour expression, take your money then hand you the bag.. and they never even say THANKYOU.

Last year I wrote a review saying they are the best!!! The service has continued to be great (delivery) the Crab Rangoon is out of this world!! Beef fried rice and Lobster sauce was not so good anymore.

Best Chinese cuisine on the east coast hands down! Hot and fresh to order, great- quality ingredients, and nice family oriented environment!

Food is very good and creative but man oh man its pricey.

If you have any vegetarians in your party, you are out of luck. Even the vegetable dishes are made with chicken broth (we asked). If you are very specific about what you want, there are two or three dishes they can make vegetarian for you... but most vegetable dishes cannot be made vegetarian. Why even bother? The vast majority of restaurants these days offer vegetarian dishes, so I suggest trying one of those instead.

Oilily over priced Chinese, i was served crunchy white rice after they brough brown rice by mistake. They have a nice bar/ dance area with lots of creepy older guys. Mostly 30+ go here

Delicious! Pretty much any dish that starts with golden temple is a winner, from ribs to fried rice. Drinks are excellent. Street parking at meters can be tricky. Expensive for Asian cuisine but never disappoints.

Old school fabulous chinese food

The food was honestly pretty bad imo, it was like not the type of Chinese food I was expecting (which might be on me). We also had a terrible experience with an Alt-Right patron and literally left mid-meal because of it. The service was pretty good and the staff was really nice, just overall not the experience I was looking for tbh.

Food was terrible except for the spareribs. I had the Wor Won Ton Soup. It was a large bowl of tasteless pasta, bland white meat diced chicken a few stuffed won ton . Not worth the $10.00 price ! Next we ordered chicken wings which where over salted, over marinated and greasy, next we ordered fried won tons. They were served cold and again greasy and not the typical crunchy type . The lobster sauce was loaded with soy sauce and inedible so we sent it back, the sesame chicken had very few sesames, was soggy and tasted strange. The Brussel sprouts were also soggy salty and not very good The scallion pancakes where loaded with oil and did not taste good like other restaurants . The server was nice but the restaurant was understaffed and there where long waits before we where checked on. I wouldn’t go back. There are lots of chinese restaurants that are much better! Poor quality, greasy, salty, cold and expensive. Stay away! Best advice I can give

Been going there for over 40 years with my family, we live in Connecticut and my aunt lives around the corner on University rd at Washington Square, we would visit 4 time per year and would spend over $600 per trip on food to bring back home to Connecticut to flash freeze to last till the next time, every time we arrived we were greeted like a king as everyone else around us, the only difference was the owners son would come out from the kitchen is he would shake my fathers had and give us both a free drink and appraiser, I still live I Connecticut and when I visit Massachusetts the ONLY CHINESE RESTAURANT I will visit is The GOLDEN TEMPLE!

The Golden Temple in Brookline, Massachusetts is the most amazing Mandarin-style Chinese restaurant Ive been to in many, many years! The food was excellent and the art deco design just added that much more flavour to our evening! Great selection of wines and the menu was fantastic! I only wish I could have packed it in my luggage to bring it back to South Carolina with me! What an outstanding place! I looked for Humphrey Bogart at every turn saying, Play it Again Sam!

This was one of the best surprises Ive had in a very long time! The crowd was extremely diverse, both in ethnicity and age. Yes, age! The crowd ranged from mid 20s up to 60s! And the dance floor was packed all night. How is that even possible? The DJ may have been in his 70s and was spinning great tunes. Most were from the 80s/90s but tu es you all k oy and love. And he took requests and didnt make you wait 30 mins to hear you song choice. Great time. Im so glad our friends told us about this place. We will be back for sure.

Eh- Ive had better Chinese food for better prices. Ive mainly ordered off their vegetarian menu, though. They put your takeout that plastic takeout tupperware in great/unconvential sizes! I think the service is good. The bar area is surprisingly fun on Friday night.

Not that great any more - its sad but I got a foot long piece of hair in my PF rice, ribs werent fresh they were dry and black. Everything else was below standards.

A fancy alternative to all the delivery places around; the food is delicious, but you will pay more for it. They do deliver as well. The bar area has a little dance floor with a DJ on the weekends, which is a good time. Valet parking is available as well, though I have not made use of it yet. Sometimes service is a bit lax, but not worth skipping because of it.

Looks pretty. Food was great if you are middle age and expect taste-barely, sugar-it-all american-chinese food. To be fair, the meat platter as a starter wasnt bad- especially the strips of pork although the beef 2-inch wide strips was sugary+ 5 spice with too much cinnamon. The seafood player was fine. The ma po tofu was thick, with tons of sugar flavored sauce and at least 10 tons of garlic. The good part- all other restaurants in the neighborhood had 45 to 60 minutes wait and we were seated immediately
