This museum was very very excellent! Lots of areas for children to play and explore. Very clean and very well organized too. We will definitely go back and I highly recommend this museum.

Super fun place for the kids, currently only hosting people/kids outside during pandemic. They also sanitize for everyone safety. Have fun!

We spent hours here! Then we walked to lunch and walked back to play for a few more hours! The kids and us all had so much fun. I wish more cities would have a place like this especially if it’s too hot or too cold out to play.

A really fun experience for the whole family. The exhibits are very creative and well designed. The favorite for our kids was the water place with the all the balls. They could have spent an easy hour in there. I think the cost of admission is reasonable and I would go back again.

Very clean, very friendly staff, lots of options for the kids and endless amount of fun for them. The outside play area was nice on a cooler day and inside was room after room of a different learning opportunity. Overall my kids loved the place and would visit again when in South Dakota again.

We stopped here ion our way back home from a family vacation, a great place to stop and let the kids stretch out and wear off some energy. Very clean and well taken care of, with plenty of room and things to do. There was even an outdoor area, although not much to do and our kids lost interest outside quickly it was a nice option.

My son has sensory issues and there are many different options for him to do what suited him and in his own space. Parents are always around their children to safely monitor and sometimes the parents find their inner kid as well :)

This is how they make money?! are you kidding me!! Terrible Experience! They closed the inside even after we called and asked if the inside was open and they said that it was open. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!! After we paid is when they finally told us that the inside was closed!

They cafe service wasnt the best that day,but food was good. Kids love the place and plenty to do. Parts are very autism friendly. Of course will be going again.

Oh my goodness! I was NOT prepared for how awesome this place was! Its definitely not a quick visit type of place. Plan an all day affair otherwise you will never get to see and do everything.

This is an amazing asset to our Brookings community. My kids visit about three times a week and the cafe is delicious with healthy options for kids. I highly recommend visiting the museum the next time you’re in downtown Brookings,SD.

This what a great place to take my son and nephew. Entrance was $8.00, which is exceedingly cheap for everything that was there. There are multiple areas with different themes and activities for kids to do to assist them on learning skills. Our favorite was going through the grocery store to fulfill our shopping list, and then going to the farm to see how the food gets to the store. We did choose to eat in the Cafe which did get a little backed up, nap time arrived so we did not get to explore the whole museum, so plan accordingly! We could have easily spent 5+ hours here.Your admission does count for the whole day, so you can leave and come back, unfortunately we were from out of town, so that was not an option. Well worth the hour drive!

It is a wonderful educational location! Very interactive and Im happy to see how the repurposed my old elementary school.

This place is so much fun for kids. Its easy to spend hours here. Last time I was there was for a birthday party. They do a great job of making the party something special for the kids.

Although this museum is pricy, it is worth every penny as long as you have time to utilize it to its full potential. Ive been to a lot of childrens museums both in the U.S. and abroad and this is hands-down the best childrens museum Ive been to. Its an expansive museum with LOTS to see and do, both inside and outside.The best part is that pretty much everything is accessible to kids on a level where they dont need to think about how something works or need much help in doing the activity; they can just walk up to something and start doing it.10/10 would recommend to anyone with kids.

You have to check this place out! We took 7 kids ages 12 to 2 here and oh my gosh there was something for each of them and they loved it!! We did make a point to see everything but we definitely will be going back to explore some more!

This place is amazing, awsome! Ive been to childrens museums in many cities in the U.S. and this one outdoes all of them, hands down! The dinosaur, the water play room, the air room, the amazingly designed farm-to-table space, we totally enjoyed spending time with our grandson here! Well definitely be back!

My children love this place, and thats what matters. Its relatively inexpensive, especially if youre willing to buy an annual family membership. Highly recommend!However, bring your own lunch, the small Cafe is somewhat expensive.

The whole family loves this place. My oldest is 7 and weve taken him here throughout his life. He still loves it and always asks to go back. Can we pick it up and move it to Sioux Falls, please?

This was our first time here. There were several intriguing play areas that kept my 5 year old actively engaged all day.The outdoor space was especially well laid out. We probably would have spent all day out there were it not for the heat.My only suggestions would be more climbing structures, more shade for moms outside, and larger portion sizes on the kids meal items. My son had a chicken quesadilla and it was quite small, though he said it tasted very good. However, I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and it was plenty big enough.All in all, a great place to spend a day with the kids.

We have been to the museum several times and each time more and more of the activities are broken or don’t work. None of these appear to be maintained as it has been a long time in between our visits sometimes 6 months to a year and the same things don’t work along with a few more each time. We would love to come back because it is a great place, but we hesitate due to the price with the condition it is in.

Family friendly, tons of activities for the kids. Good for a few hours to a whole day. There is a little splash pad and man made creek outdoors, perfect to cool off at on a hot day.

A little costly, but hours of fun, exploration, and adventure for the kids. Even the adults can have a little fun helping out the kids. Would recommend to any parent with kids who would love to give them a nice treat.

This place is just AH-MAZING! It absolutely reaches/touches childrens/adults most important developmental needs so not only you can see what areas they need help in, but this is all taught through play which is the most important way so you & your children forget your learning & just have fun & just enjoy eachother! You can fix cars, food, play grocery store, farm, build a house, shoot scarves through airvents & allow the kids to learn gross motor skills, play in the water, reading corner, dinosaurs, make fake food, play w/Lincoln logs that are huge, play w/huge Lego brites, lots of things to climb on, etc. Theres a real cafeteria there as well to eat @ thats amazing. So my nephews/niece left there learning math, science, history, geography, spelling, manners/etc. So worth the time & energy as this place is the best!

Great place for kids to explore and learn. There are so many things to do, you could spend all day there and not get bored. And the staff is super nice and helpful.

This is a great place to bring the kids both when it’s cold weather and when it’s nice. The inside has multiple rooms for your kids to spend time in and when it’s nice they have a water area to play in. My kids love the giant lifelike dinosaurs.

Grandkids had a blast....so much to do. Went upstairs an exceptional helpful staff taught weaving and how to make friendship bracelet. Dinosaurs..climbing... playstore...play garage..waterfun...painting...artWow... what a great way to spend an afternoon. :)

My family and I had such a great time here. We enjoyed each exhibit and really cant wait to come back. We especially enjoyed delivering mail, shopping in the grocery store, and playing in the water area.

Fantastic place to bring the kids. Lots of things for them to check out from a water room to a full farm to grocery store setup. There are tons of things to do even in the winter. I am particularly fond of the cloud area as my kids. They get to climb and go up high in safety. The play areas outside are great and dont forget to visit the dinosaurs!

This place is amazing and so Interactive I would stop here every time Im in Brookings. Your kids will have a great time and any adults with kids Hearts will also have a great time they also have a cafeteria which is nice to make it an all day event. Tons of fun activities for my grandson who is 7-1/2. He loves the dinosaurs, the TV station and stage, the water play room, the air play room, the outdoor musical instruments and the pond with its lazy river!

Lots of activities for kids of all ages. Great way for kids to learn and play and interact with other kids. Membership is a great deal so families who want to take advantage of an indoor place for kids to play year round.

Every time we come into town to visit family we have to hit up this museum. Its better than any other childrens museum in the region... including larger towns!

Visited back in June with my 4 and 1 y/o. Both kids had a blast. Many things to do for kids of all ages. They have a nice outdoor area to dig for dinosaur bones and play in the splash fountain. Probably the highlight for my kids was a little kids grocery store where they were able to buy their own groceries or be the grocery checkout worker. Props to the staff for keeping those selves re-stocked.

Chaperoned a field trip for my sons class a few years back and this was where we went. To say it was FUN is putting it lightly. It was an amazing experience. Not only interesting, but the staff were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. ☆☆☆☆☆

I had heard about this place, but never visited before today. It is very similar to the Children’s Museum in Omaha, but much closer to Sioux Falls, so it makes a quick day trip. Great entertainment and learning for my 4 year old.

There isnt much for handicapped children to do. There is a fraction of activities compared to Omahas childrens museum. There was an outdoor water area our daughter enjoyed quite a bit. I felt it was expensive given the few activities she was able to experience. Not a whole lot for a 2.5 year old

This place is a crowd favorite, and everyone from our 3 year old to my 66 year old mother has fun. I wont deny how much time Ive didnt in the water room playing with both of my kids. The vacuum tube room is a blast too.Check out the traveling exhibit upstairs and dont miss out on the finer details in the cloud room. Lots of great culture and info out there hidden inside play and toys. During the summer, the outside is a blast. The splash pad and the stream make it all perfect!We have a membership and if you can make it three times a year with a family of four you will pay for it.Save time for a scoop of ice cream on the way out!
