I walked into Metro feeling slightly overwhelmed and intimidated. I went by myself, and being a woman, its always a little scary walking into a male dominated area. I carry regularly, but I had not purchased my own gun previously. (It was gifted to me) I knew the guns that I wanted to handle, and Steve was SO helpful. I came in 30 minutes before closing and I wasnt rushed at all, he pulled out every single gun I asked to try, (and there were quite a few), and answered every question I had. I wasnt completely set on purchasing right then and there initially, but Steve made it so effortless and easy that I ended up finding one I loved. I will definitely be back soon and will be recommending Metro to everyone! Thanks again!

The range is in good shape and the staff are pretty friendly depending on who you deal with. However, this is the biggest rip off on ammo I have seen in a bit. If you want better prices not only on range time but defensive ammo go out to the range past St. Charles W on I-70. You wallet will thank you.

Price gougy and honestly the people here act like your an inconvenience just for asking simple questions. Legit the last place I try to go. Gateway gun club is a better range and trail creek is 2x as friendly.

I was told by the owner (very adamantly) how I was NOT allowed to sell a certain item & how I would be committing a felony if I did. I was terrified. Come to find out... ABSOLUTELY FALSE! If you dont actually know laws then why preach them to customers like you do???Also, like many other gun shops, the staff acts like you are an inconvenience to them because you dont know EVERYTHING about firearms. Im a novice & if I am looking for some info I go where the professionals are to ask & find out. I guess that is not ok here. I will never go back.P.s. -3 other local shops told me the opposite of this gentleman & they also offered to look at what I had to help me. Even though the owner here told me nobody will even look at that for you. Its too much of a liability. I guess he just didnt know HOW to help. Apparently everyone else does in the area so I would find another place to shop if I were you.

Good place to purchase your fire arm...and the range is good....range amo is a little high.

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, but I found it to be extremely congested and disorganized! It felt chaotic to me and the fact that this was my first time discharging a weapon may have played a huge roll in my only having fired twice after that I was out of there! Really nice people but not a good first time for me.

Today I witnessed some customers receive poor and unprofessional service from the employees. This was disturbing, considering that there were other customers who didn’t receive that unprofessionalism. Hopefully demographics wasn’t the cause. There’s other places that will value you and your patronage.

Went with a friend to look at purchasing a firearm...was serviced by John. He answered all of our questions, showed a variety of options, made recommendations and helped us feel comfortable as well as confident with our choice. Would refer others to Metro for professional service.

Called last night to ask if they had a product in stock and I was told it was. I showed up in the morning at opening and was told no they do not have that product in stock. It happens..no big deal.I then went down to the gun range for some target practice with my own ammunition since I was told I could buy one box to take home. At the end of that I asked to buy a box of ammunition but they said I could only use that at their range even though upstairs they said I could buy one box to take with me.So basically I was told a product was available then when I get there its not, I was told I could buy ammunition to take home so I used my own then when I tried to buy some I was told I could not. What a rip off. Never again.

I walk in , get greeted with “wait over there please! “ .. 10 minutes pass by I’m still standing at the door , the store limit is 9 due to COVID, there’s literally 3 people in the store ! Lastly the guy who told me to wait for his assistance is standing behind the counter with no customer in front if him. Very poor customer service will probably never return .

Wish I could give 0 stars. Walked in, and person who greeted me would not even let me look at holsters without having the gun with me. I was told (with attitude). “I will sell you any holster you want, but if you take it home and it does not fit, you will not be able to return it.”

Been there a few times. To shoot with my wife. Love the Range, very very clean.I have been there to look around. Large selection of firearms and other items needed for your weapon. All the staff I talked to were very helpful. Even on the on the phone and through email. Good people there.

Absolutely a great place to shoot, the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. my only suggestion if you plan to go there is to be patient with the staff if they are busy. I definitely enjoy visiting MSS to browse, purchase of just learn about firearms without feeling pressured to buy.

The place is awesome the underhanded thimgs they do is the issue. Went with friends to purchase a gun, the friend paid for the gun before the background check was even completed. He was told that if he didnt hear from them by a certain date then he could just come fet his gun. Where I obtained my firearm the background check was done first. We went to their gu. Range which is an awesome set up again unhanded things happened, we were told the rules and informed that if we were to hit any of certaun items there would be a charge, what they dont have advertised is that youre charged each time you hit the same item. Ex: the hanger thats holding the targets. Its stated and posted that its 10 dollars if you hit it, but its not posted in the lane or at the counter that its 10 dollars for each hit. If they make that more clear then people wouldnt feel cheated out of money.

Used to go to this place all the time, then their belleville location temporarily closed. So then I started going to this location, was able to go to the range a few time, but since june, there was always some reason that it was closed, a terrible waste of time!

Went in with my wife and my son and daughter n law and we had a GREAT!!! time everyone was knowledgeable about the different types of firearms good people at Metro.

I went in wanting to make a purchase and get some shots in at the range, the owner is very rude, arrogant and very unprofessional. Seem quite racist, he should treat people how he wants to be treated especially customers because thats where you get your money from. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy.

On Saturday March 25th my wife and I and went to a gun supplier to purchase a gun for her. They were very rude, with a poor disposition and unprofessional. They said wife wife could come in but not me (I was buying her a gun). I remember coming to metro a while back with my son to look at some rifles and remember to type of customer service that we receive then.So after my wife and I left this rude and very unprofessional establishment (without a purchase) we came to metro shooting supplies in Bridgeton. We worked with Steve who not only made sure that the weapon we were purchasing for my wife was comfortable for her to handle and use but also gave her all the information she needed to understand the purchase. Even though they were very busy at the time and under the order of 10 people in the building at one time Steve still gave us not only his undivided attention but the upmost respect and great customer service, Metro Shooting Supplies in Bridgeton you have gained a customer and friend for life.

Stood there for 10 min waiting not a single person in the store and no one asked me if I need help.

I called in advance to ask is I could observe at the range while my wife tested a new trigger on her pistol. When we arrived, we entered the range. The rangermaster denied me to observe. He called Steve, the owner. Ne also refused to let me enter.I walked upstairs and talked to the guy who gave me permission to observe. He apologized. It wasnt his fault. He was a new hire. But Steve could have given me a break this time. My wife and I wo t br shooting at Metro anymore.

Great customer service and really easy folks to talk to and be open about what you want from a firearm. My first experiences at Metro have been fantastic. I bought a handgun from them and got the 1 year free membership about a month ago, and have been back weekly to use the range since then. The range is excellent, their prices are very reasonable, and Ive never had to wait. Every time Ive been there Ive been greeted with a smile and a thank you on my way out. I highly recommend checking them out, its a group of highly experienced guys who run a top notch range. I expect Ill be a customer for years to come.

I went to Cables to buy a new 357. So I pull a number and waited bout 20 minutes before it was my turn. The salesperson pulled out a 357 when I was trying to ask a question about the different between the two different makes the salesperson was not able to tell me anything . So I went to Metro Shooting they were able to pull out two different 357 and point out what different was about the two. The best part about Metro Shooting I was able to go on the shooting range and try out both gun. I will buy all of my guns form now on. Thank you, Metro shooting Supplies.

My girlfriend and I went today to look for a gun for her. We were immediately greeted and helped by Steve King. Not only did he give her instructions on handling the gun, but he showed us different options. We were able to go rent and shoot the same model gun at the range downstairs before we purchased it. She was very satisfied with her purchase and was extremely impressed with Steves customer service and knowledge. Thank you again Steve!

Good selection, highest prices possible. Cant bring your own rifle ammo cause their backstop must be made of cardboard, then they price gouge you on their ammunition. Theres no air conditioning on their indoor range, its like an oven.

Horrible treatment of customers.

Just called to see if they had a gun in stock. I was told they have 1 left and he said hopefully its not sold before you get here. Really couldnt take my credit card over the phone then do all necessary paperwork when I got their. I live 30 minutes away.

Cant say enough good things about this store. The range is clean and well kept. The upstairs displays are well stocked and a really large variety to choose from. Even if you want to walk around and just window shop, enjoyable experience. Jason is who we met first and my wife and I truly enjoyed his level of customer service and just making you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. Ryan is the store manager and hes fantastic too. Really great place. Well priced too!! Its a tad bit of a drive to get there but we wont be going anywhere else from now on. Well done!

Worst time I ever had at a shooting range! I just moved out in this area so I thought I should try out the nearest shooting range. When I walked in I could tell by the looks on this guys face we would have a bad time. An employee by the name of “ Steve “ tried to charged me, my brother And his friend 10 more dollars on everything we bought for no reason, lied to us and tried to make us believe we shot the the ceiling and other props you have. Then another guy rung us up and the price dropped 60 dollars. Then when we confronted “ Steve “ he yells out “ let me know if you wanna go”

I took a gun class with Steve and he was GREAT!!!!! Having never even touched firearm in my life I walked out feeling comfortable and like I had learned a ton. Steve was smooth, knowledgeable and super encouraging. I would definitely recommend his class.

I go to the range every few months and it is always a great experience. They have the largest selection Ive ever seen and they are super knowledgeable. They wont try to sell you a gun thats not right for you. As far as the range goes, its very nice and the atmosphere is awesome. Some people complain about the customer service but what do you expect? They are there to keep you and everyone else safe. They are polite but stern about the rules. If you dont like them, go somewhere else. I will be returning for years to come.

Went to Metro Shooting Range for the first time this evening. Truly enjoyable. Gentlemen operating the range and retail area were very friendly and helpful. The range was nice and we had a great time. Looking forward to returning and shooting again. Also did some window shopping as they have several cases and displays of firearms, supplies, and other equipment. Very knowledgeable gentlemen that helped us out. Thinking about a membership as it sounds like a pretty great deal. If you are looking for a range to try out, give this location a stop in, youll be glad you did. The plus side was the range is heated!

I have great experiences when shopping to purchase a firearm (before they get your money). Unfortunately, my time at the range has been consistently horrible. The staff there (typically the same guy) goes out of their way to be rude. It really sours the entire location.

I purchased a S&W 40c from Metro. I have never been treated so well in my life. John Stephenson educated me on my firearm and made me feel appreciated. Plus I received a 1 year free range membership. Nobody can beat that deal. I will be purchasing my firearms here from now on. Thanks Guys!

Tried to start a conversation with the staff and ask questions but they seemed uninterested also were really rude for no reason once I told them I was an Illinois refugee. I even tried to get on the gun range and wouldn’t let me due to only having an Illinois driver’s license even though I had my conceal carry permit and my foid card. Ignorance of gun laws runs rampant here. Apparently you need a Missouri driver’s license according to them to get on the range.

Going to a gun shop, I thought would be intimidating, this being my first time and all, but I was immediately met with warm welcomings by Jim who is the one who took care of me. He was very informative and patient, answering all of my questions while I discussed which gun to buy with my dad over the phone. Between him, Ryan and others, every question was answered with patience and care. I really liked Ryans down to earth and out going personality.I never felt alone in making a decision.These guys know their guns and will help you every step of the way.Overall, my experience was very pleasant and informative.The process didnt take long, just make sure your drivers license has the right address on it. My minor set back. As soon as I took care of the problem, I received my purchase and was on my way, happy that I made the purchase with them.Customer service is very important to me and I appreciated the friendly service and reminders that if I had any questions or needed anything to please come see them or call.Thanks guys!!!Toni A.

Im sorry to hear all the bad experiences with other reviews because I had a great experience. The staff was very knowledgeable with firearms. I just got into guns and they helped me with a wide variety of pistols and led me to some that works best for me. They took their time explaining to me every line on paperwork and even helped me in the range which was my first time also. They went over every single gun and let me feel which ones fit best in my hand. Didnt take long for the background for me on the state. I had to come back for the federal but they explained all I needed to know and kept their word with when I could pick my gun up. I had a great experience and such a good one for my first time. Would recommend all day!!! CMG

This is a beautiful store and maybe the best selection of firearms in the area. There were also enough employees to assist and they are very knowledgeable. They dont sell low end firearms so dont go in there asking for a $250 gun. I think the low end S&W can be had for around $375, maybe a bit less. Plus you get the one year membership, which is an absolute deal at the discounted range rate of $6.00 and hour plus two guests at the same rate. Ive purchased several firearms there and love looking around the store at all the extras. I hate going into stores and not seeing any quality products especially cheap holsters that most stores seem to stock their shelves with. Ive seen several celebrities in the shop so the word must be getting out about the place. If you dont know anything about firearms, theyll give you solid advice and several recommendations. Have fun.

The facilities are great, and the guys managing the range seemed nice, but the men upstairs are unbelievably rude and condescending. I was explaining a law about the CCW permit age and was immediately belittled and told I was wrong. I went home to research it, lo and behold, I was correct.

Only wlcomeing faces are those upstairs at the counter. The few times I’ve been here I’ve been greeted by guys who don’t seem to care to make an experience for customers. They’ll sit back and let you make a non safety error and just charge you for later with no warning. It has 3 stars for a reason. Better off taking a trip down to south county or gateway gun club to spend your money and free time

Not sure why the bad reviews. The staff has never been anything but helpful to me, my wife, and daughters who frequent the range. Everyone I have dealt with has treated us like a part of the Metro family. Ryan, Jim, and Bert especially. Great service, great range.

Personable staff, excellent range. Safe environment with attentive range officer on duty and video monitoring. I have purchased firearms for reasonable price - close to retail but the free range membership is easily worth the savings youd see elsewhere. Ammo is expensive but again - retail price. I appreciate feeling welcome, no question is too stupid to ask, and having a brick and mortar store/range near my home is priceless. I have read other reviews and in one case witnessed a situation that resulted in a negative review. My observation was that the store staff members were very calm and accommodating but the customer was being unreasonable and disruptive.

This is truly a nice place the people are really friendly and courteous here. I met the owner Steven King Who is really friendly and very helpful. I purchased my 1st firearm here I had no ideal what I was looking for. One sales represented name Jim Pickett Recommended the Springfield 9 mm which I purchase from him. I been here just about every week and shoot net says February the 28th of this year. This is a very clean nice orderly well Organized place to visit and shoot your firearm. I really do enjoy that atmosphere that I feel in MetroShooting Supplies. And James downstairs is very good on remembering who you are when you come to shoot. I cant say enough about the staff for this place they are very excellent are remembering who who you are. So if you looking for a nice place I suggest you come here.

I know a lot of the reviews paint these guys in a bad light, but the sales staff has been nothing but friendly to me, and if being proud of your knowledge base and time spent learning about your products makes you an elitist then i prefer a small amount of take it or leave it attitude in my gun shop. the range is safe and clean, and safety rules are there to make the environment good for everyone

Overall the store and range itself is nice with a good selection of supplies and the employees were helpful.. but slightly rude by the way they conduct themselves with other customers. I wasnt personally treated that way. But i feel like If I would have just been looking, or if they thought I wasnt going to make a purchase, i would have been rushed out or shunned away!!

Im am new to gun ownership, I went to Metros range for the 1st time this evening with a buddy, we had a BLAST(rim shot), anyway we dealt with Bert. He was awesome, he was very clear on what and what not to do in the range. I will definitely return.

I had a great experience shooting and learning about safety with guns, what’s best to have and attachments to put on them. The guys that work there or very helpful.

Steve was a great teacher would go back next time for all our needs.

Was excited that a indoor range had opened up close to home, used the range a few times out of convenience and overpayed for an indoor range with poor ventilation (supper hot and sweaty in the summer) and overcharged ammo that you must buy from them. Overall a poor experience and felt used. I recommend Ultimate Defense in St Peters or The Range off Manchester, both allows you to bring your own brass ammo and have very reasonable rental guns. Literally 1/2 the price of Meteo with much betters options and amenities. Just a shame Meteo keeps shooting themselves in the foot w overcharging product and rental.

Imagine your typical range people. Goofy, swaggering douchebags. That describes the owner and the two idiots they have tending the range downstairs. They kick people out for firing too quickly. I was on the line for all of five minutes before I got kicked out. Not for anything unsafe, mind you. Every round was in the ten-ring. But because they enforce an arbitrary rule that you have to put 2-3 three seconds between rounds, I was ejected. Thats a good way to scare off any advanced shooter. Ive been to dozens of ranges, all over this great country, and this the absolute worst. This is the first range Ive ever been too where you have to wait 2-3 seconds between shots. It boggles my mind, and I still cant get over how stupid this is. I shot expert in the military, and have shot competitively in handguns at multiple ranges, and I just cant wrap my head around this being an actual rule.
