We saw the Elton John impersonator and he was terrific! Sounded so much like him. And we really like the place itself. Its small and its nice that you can bring your own food and drink.

The ambience is wonderful, and it was a great place to see Mamma Mia. This is a show that I have seen many times, on stage and on screen. Being up close and personal with the cast while sitting at a table consuming our snacks and drinks is an unbeatable theater experience.

The Downtown Cabaret offers wonderful shows. You may bring your own food and drink because everyone sits at a reserved table. The actors are almost universally excellent, and the ambience is inviting. Its sole drawback is the inconvenience of parking your vehicle.

Really great place to come for an evening. Courteous staff. Paid parking across the street.

Just saw George Orwells 1984. Fantastic! And what a MOVING performance by the actor that played Winston Smith! It was awe-inspiring. To say it was phenomenal is an understatement. The whole play was absolutely riveting! And of course I love the Cabaret Theatre. Its so much fun to be able to eat and drink whatever you want, while watching top-notch performances.

Absolutely love the Downtown Cabaret. Its a great smaller venue for all types of performances. Ive attended several events here from kids plays to adult cover band performances.Concession is available, but bringing in outside food and drink is allowed and I recommend it. I also recommend parking in an attended location.I would give another star, however they do tend to pack in people for the performances to where it was uncomfortable for several people in my group as well as others around us this time.

Saw Legally Blonde. So adorable! Enjoyed bringing our own goodies (wine, sushi, wings, cheese, deviled eggs and desert). Next time I must reserve a booth in the back! The theater is small enough to enjoy from just about any seat!

Saw Mamma Mia for the third time! Fun show with an amazing cast and great audience. We were all Dancing Queens .

The DCT is a fun little venue. We saw Legally Blond and the production was quite good. Theres not a bad seat in the house but we prefer the upper level where its not as crowded. If the place is full the seating can get a little tight. You can bring your own food and drink but I wish you could enter a little earlier before the show. We had 30 minutes and we didnt finish our dinner. If you are a little courageous you can park on the street and save yourself the $5 parking fee. A fun night out!

Ive been going to the cabaret theatre for the children shows for 5 years now. They are amazing

My sister in law took me and my wife to a performance of Annie here. I was expecting a typical community theater experience, but was instead treated to caberet style seating around tables were people were happily unpacking whole pizzas and other dinners theyd brought from home. We were wedged into a corner near the edge of the stage, and even there we had a great view. The acting and sets werent Broadway, but they were quality for a community theater production. Had a great time!

Excellent entertainment at a great price. Their core actors are excellent. The ancillary characters can leave something to be desired at times, but overall its great entertainment at an affordable price. Parking is easy as well. I highly recommend checking it out.

The Full Monty was a lot of fun. However I found the theatre to be very cold. Next time I am dressing warmer and bringing a sweater.

Everything about this cabaret theatre is amazing. You can bring your own food and drink and there is also some to purchase. The shows are fabulous and not a bad seat in the place. One of Bridgeports jems i highly recommend you take in a show here

The downtown cabaret theater is always fun. Bring your own food/drinks (including the adult kind) makes this an adventure. The performance, which includee a number of lo call actors, of Priscilla in the Desert was a treat Lots of fun, great singing. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars... Be aware that some of the tables in the back have obstructed views due to columns.

We had a GREAT time at the Cabaret Theatre during their performance of Spring Awakening. I had never been to a BYOB theatre before and was a bit nervous about bringing too much food and wine. My boyfriend and I opted for going to a nearby restaurant for dinner, and then brought light snacks and wine to the show. As soon as we arrived at the theatre, I quickly saw that I shouldnt have been nervous. Patrons were arriving with coolers full of food and multiple bottles of booze. The couple next to us had ordered food to-go and were eating their dinners out of containers.A couple things to note: the seating is a little cramped and most people had to share tables with other guests. It didnt both us but I imagine that someone a bit claustrophobic might want to be more particular about the seats that they reserve. Also, Im pretty sure the cabaret doesnt provide drinking glasses so thats something to keep in mind when bringing a bottle of wine.Most importantly, the performance was INCREDIBLE and was by far one of the most well done musicals I have ever seen outside of the NYC area (if not just as good as some Broadway performances). We will definitely be back!

I came with a group of my family and friends to see Jesus Christ Superstar and filled three tables on the balcony. We had the best view! The staff were very friendly and the show was absolutely amazing! We had a great experience and it was a spectacular performance! Well definitely be back and I would definitely recommend!

Ive been coming here since I was a kid, now I love taking my daughter! Childrens theatre shows are always amazing. This place is truly a gem with amazing talent. Everyone should bring their children!

If you have not been to the Downtown Cabaret Theater in Bridgeport, you are missing out BIG time! The talent is phenomenal and the prices are incredibly inexpensive! For $120, you get to see FIVE shows (ONE Broadway ticket cost more than that)! The price includes parking which would normally be $10 per show. In addition, at each performance subscribers get a free snack (candy bar or popcorn) with a bottled water.

I just saw Evita at the Bridgeport cabaret with my family and we had the best time. The actors were excellent and I love the fact that its a casual atmosphere where you can bring dinner and eat with friends. Definitely a great alternative night out for those looking to do something besides going to the same old. As and restaurants!

This place is great to see plays & music. It is a small, comfortable venue. Table seating with bring your own picnic. There is a concession stand for soda & snacks.This relax atmosphere and children play serious is a wonderful way to introduce kids to live theater.

We go to a few kids shows each season. They always add a unique spin to the classic childrens tale that will bring a smile to the faces of kids and adults. The actors are so generous to do meet and greets as you leave. Your kids can get an autograph and photo with each witch, princess and evil stepmother.

Many years ago I would have given this 5 stars, when they had lots of musicals starring Broadway talent. These days it seems like they only have 1 or 2 good musicals for every 10 tribute bands that dress up like Elvis, the Beach Boys, Neil Diamond, and just impersonate them.... not my cup of tea, but they must be making more money from it I guess. The theater is still great, its just what is available to see there has changed from mostly amazing Broadway-class musicals, but in an intimate setting, to mostly cheap impersonators these days. :S
