We are members of a Carefree boat club out of South Florida, and we were recently able to use one of our remote reservations out of the Captains Cove location in Bridgeport as our family participated in the 2019 Swim Across the Sound charity event.The entire team at this location was wonderful! The owner was very cooperative in our family being able to pick up the boat early so that we could participate in the event on time, and the boat was in amazing shape! The dock staff was very knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely seemed like a kind group of people!If youre looking for boating without owning and have a chance to be a member of a really great boat club, this really is the location for you!A big thanks again to everyone at the Carefree Captains Cove location for helping us make the day great and for their support of our family participating in the 2019 St. Vincents Swim Across the Sound foundation.

This club is the best. Super accommodating staff/ownership, the boats are all new or nearly new, and the program itself is way more affordable than I expected. This is a perfect club for anyone who has always wanted to boat or has boated but doesnt want the headaches. I literally pick up the boat and drop it off with nothing to worry about and no other responsibilities. I also like how they have 4 locations to choose from anytime I want a boat. Love it, and Im having the time of my life!

This is a great way to get out on the water without the burdens associated with boat ownership. I am new to the boat club this year (actually since late last year) and have really been enjoying it. As a fisherman, the dock staff are always accommodating and have good fishing information to share. The owner and staff have been very friendly and the customer service has been outstanding. I would highly recommend Carefree Boat Club of Southern CT to others!

Carefree is the perfect solution for busy two-career families who want to boat but dont have the time or wherewithal to maintain one. It’s essentially “Zipcars” for boats- you take the boat out, have fun, and hand back the keys when you’re done.Carefree also removes all the barriers to entry into a boating lifestyle. The conscientious and courteous staff helped us get licensed, trained us, and they keep us up to date on the tides and weather conditions. Best of all, it is affordable. I’m so glad we joined; I just wish we had known about Carefree last summer!

Carefree Boat club is the best! We had so much fun this summer getting to know the Long Island Sound and this week went up the Connecticut River. In California, we went out from the club in Marina Del Ray into the Pacific Ocean and saw the Santa Monica Pier and Malibu from a great vantage point. Dolphins swam right by us. It was the highlight of our trip. My husband got his boat license, trained on all the different boats with Captain John and took the navigation course. The boat has GPS on board so you can see just how deep the water is. It even tracks where you go so you can follow your tracks back to the dock. The staff has been wonderful. After we got comfortable on the boat we took friends and family out. My daughter accused us of joining the club so we can get them to visit from Philadelphia more often! Well thats just a bonus.You get to have a boat without the worry and expense. What a great idea and a great club. We will be members for a long time.

By far, the best decision we have made in retirement to date!I can write a book about why this Club makes so much sense!My wife and I boated on great south bay in Long island in the 70s. Now retired, we did NOT want to buy, maintain, slip, repair, insure or pay property taxes on a boat. Solution: Care Free Boat Club of Southern CT. I took the State Class and got a license. I received FREE on the water training from the Clubs Captain John Davis, I received FREE Seamanship Seminar Training, I received FREE twin engine training given by the Clubs owner Mitch. We are treated like family when we arrive and depart. The crew helps us load and unload the boat. The boats are always spotless and well maintained with a great variety of boats and multiple locations. I talk about this program to everyone I meet. It is truly CARE FREE! Thank you!!! Pat Freyer

A boat club is a new concept in Fairfield County and to start I had many questions which Captain John Davis and the owners Mitch Heffernan and Cheryl answered each one completely. What a great experience it is to be able to boat Long Island Sound, now from four locations, and not worry about clean up and all the other things an owner needs to take care of oneself. Lou, Jason and all the staff meet you when you arrive, help carry things to the boat, and meet you and help with docking when you return. Perfect experience. And like the name, it really is carefree. Give Carefree Boat Club a call - it is a great way to enjoy boating.
