Polite staff. Clean facility. Comfortable seats. All one can ask for in a movie theater. Will be returning

Ive driven past this one a few times through the years but have not had the occasion to visit. This time we were coming down to Portillos for a birthday lunch and decided to round it out with a movie at this AMC. We booked the tickets online through the app which is very convenient. when we got here there was plenty of room in the parking lot which is the short walk inside. The problem began when I couldnt get access to any Wi-Fi so I could not bring my ticket up on my phone. They did offer to assist by looking it up but before we got in I finally got access to the ticket. They were very friendly and willing to be very helpful which I found impressive stop & shop. They had coupons for the $5 Cameo popcorn and drink for teens but said that anyone could use them at that time. As it is my teenagers birthday I got one for them and one for me.We were in theater 16 row h seats four five and six. The setup getting into this theater is a little odd for what I am used to from other theaters but still easy to get in. We found her sheets quickly and settled in. The seats were very uncomfortable to sit in for the length of a movie. mine I either had to sit forward on or it would lean all the way back on its own. The padding is completely worn down inside them. from the outside the theater looks fairly nice and like it has been cleaned or painted recently inside the actual theater updating is definitely needed. The good news is people in the theater were courteous and the movie itself was excellent.I think if some updating was done I would consider coming back again. This one is over an hour from where we live.

We have gone to this theater for over 20 years. We have seen good and not so good like everything else in life, but all in all it is worth going to consistently. Like every event venue, the prices are high but so is Amelie and Bucs Stadium. If you are a Premier Stubs Member you earn rewards and discounts for the most part, the theater is run by very young people and sometimes they are not as careful as they should be about cleaning up around the drink station but we have not seen anything unsanitary.

This place is a good place to see a movie. Its not an amazing experience but if you just wanna see a movie especially after this Covid-19 break its not a bad option. This place is definitely outdated granted its 34 years old. But you can still have a great time!

This place is okay steer was nice and clean and the service is really good theres only one thing that apparently the popcorn is a gold because its more expensive than the actual movie Just for regular popcorn with one Coke I paid $14 so I could thinking of coming to see the movie and eating some popcorn bring a lot of cash because its ridiculously insane expensive another thing I did not like his that you have no clue where your movie is they need better clearance on where the theaters are because theyre all over the place. Took me at least round 8 minutes to find my movie.

Im so glad to be back at the movies!!! All this working from home has driven me STIR CRAZY!!! Went to the movies today and saw Coco and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Got to use mu points and get my stubs membership and use my bday comp for a large soda and popcorn. Only spent $10 bucks for everything. Would have spent much more. And to top it all off no one is here even at the late hours. Love it!! Csnt wait to come back when more movies are out

Cool movie theater with a nice layout. One of my favorite things about the place is the large snack menu and the freeform soda machine.

My family and I love going here to the movies together! Having the local police on the premises helps make us feel safe! Thank you Regency for having the added protection and security! There are plenty of other shops also in the area to check out if you need to waste a little time until your movie starts. Shopping, eating and desserts...

Best theater in the area, if you ask me! Dolby theater inside is exceptional sound and video quality, with recliners for maximum comfort! A-List membership is exceedingly good, if you live nearby. Small monthly payment, allows you to see 3 movies a week, every week. Wonderful theater.

Love going to the movies every so often but the movie theater experience never EVER gets old. Ive been frequently going to AMC at Regency for 5 years and most of the time is super clean, they have a bar (beer!!!!!) And their employees are nice most of the time :-)

No recliner chairs and its a little run down. Its still clean but I wouldnt willingly choose this theater over a competitor unless they just didnt have my movie times. The plus was the tickets were actually a tad cheaper and it seemed very quiet for matinee which was nice. I do hope they update the seating!

Its okay. The kiosk needs fixing. It needs to be updated. It is too slow. Skye our concession stand cashier was nice. She was accommodating and pleasant. The movie we saw in theatre five next to a bunch of kids getting out of Frozen 2 didnt turn their lights off for five minutes into the actual movie. Not just the credits. Otherwise a decent experience.

Hadnt been in years. All was well. Purchased our tickets online because the line was really long and only one person issuing tickets. We went inside in about 3 minutes -very surprised how fast the app was. We bypassed the line and went in. They had cops there and the crowd seemed fine. We went there because they had more variety than the theater by our house

Definitely one of the good movie theaters in Brandon area. I watch most of my movies here with my wife and friends. The only downside is the seats are not so comfortable except for the recliner seats in dolby screen. We always get our favorite curly fries before we watch every movie.

EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH THE WAIT. This AMC is the main theatre in Brandon therefore it is extremely crowded. That being said, AMC thought it would be a good idea to let people who have Stubz membership skip everyone in line not only to buy tickets but also to get overpriced, non tasty snacks. They also thought it would be a good idea to only have 1-2 people manning registers at a time. So now if you are a causal movie goer, you have to sell a kidney to buy a bag of popcorn and wait 30 minutes to do so. HORRIBLE BUSINESS MODEL!

We received a gift card for Christmas and it was for AMC only, so we drove 40 minutes away to the closest AMC. You can reserve seating here, but there are no recliners, something I had gotten accustomed to (read spoiled). The theater itself looks very old, all the way down to the technology at the concession stands. There was a bottleneck at the front door, as that was where we were actually asked for our tickets, not sure how that is better than having a post at each wing of the theater, and actually letting people get through the door. (Speaking as a former movie theater employee). The smell of burnt popcorn greeted us at the door, less than appetizing. The stock of snacks in the cases at concession were severely depleted, and the area to get the condiments and soda at was very messy, although again, it probably was just before they were due to clean, to be fair. The associate at the concession counter was pleasant, so no issues there. The bathrooms were well maintained, as were the seats in the theater, despite looking old. There were no issues with talking or anything like that, and my kids and I enjoyed the movie.

I have the pass that allows you to go to, I believe, 3 movies a week for like $20.00 a month. They just take the payment out automatically from my card. Even if you only go here and there, as long as you go 2 times a month its cheaper than buying those tickets without the pass. Another great thing about it is that theres no restrictions on the movies. You can see anything you want anytime in digital, 3D or Dolby. A Dolby ticket to brand new movie itself is just under the price of the pass. To me its no brainer. I recommend seeing for yourself. You can cancel anytime. No downside.

I’ve not been to a movie theater in over 6 years...outside ticket center was not in operation (Thursday) and the outside ticket/ATM system wasn’t functioning...asked the inside attendant & he said “sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t”...bought the obligatory $12 popcorn deal...less than a dozen folks watching...a bit loud at times but the movie was good...might be a small while till I go again...

If you can go to another theater to watch a movie, I would say try for that as this place isnt exactly clean. The floors were quite sticky in our theater. Comparing to other theaters around, its a shame that just the front rows have reclining seats. Understandable with having maybe a large audience in some rooms but there are theaters that have all reclining seats in the area. Would also think the pricing isnt as great on tickets. Was glad they did have a special viewing of a film that nobody else was showing but if there was another choice, I would probably go with that.

I love the convenience of this theater and the staff were kind and helpful. The bathrooms are modern, nice and clean. The snack bar has the typical movie menu. The reason I gave 3/5 stars is based off the dated design of the theaters. The seats have to be at least a decade old and I was more than ready to leave by the end of the movie. With a bit of a makeover and reclining, modern seats this place could easily be a 5.

Not the most comfortable seats and really slow concessions. It is surprising to find a theater with stadium seats that are so basic. Also, we ended up having to go back to get fresh popcorn because the first batch we were given was very stale. I think I would find a different theater.

Plus: nice seats, food choices. Minus: 1. need to play more intelligent movies, not just the top 10. 2. Get rid of assigned seating.

This AMC really needs to be renovated. We typically go to AMC Veterans 24 and have gotten accustomed to the size of the theaters and ESPECIALLY the recliner seats. We chose Dolby here at AMC Regency 20 so we could take advantage of the recliner seats, but they barely recline. My husband couldnt even stretch his legs out completely. Very disappointing

This movie theatre is dated. We went on Tuesday and used the regular rewards card and only paid 5bucks for the movie. It was a great deal. We sat in regular seating, no reclining seats or extra sounds. Popcorn and drinks are same as other theatres.

Every time I’m here, no matter how slow or busy they may be, the line for popcorn and drinks is so incredibly SLOW! The last time I came there were literally not even 5 people in line and I stood there a good 20 minutes. This is ridiculous! It’s one thing to have to over pay for all this stuff but to also have to miss most of your movie because the attendants are so slow is absurd!

Great movie place!

Customer service is great but this theater needs an upgrade badly. The Dolby theater has been updated to include recliner seats but the row width was kept the same, so the experience is honestly terrible. Im 6ft and felt cramped the whole movie. Its also impossible to walk down the row with other seats fully reclined. People sitting near you have to move their seats upright for people to walk through the row. Sound and screen quality was great for Dolby.

Ruined my Valentines Day! Drove half an hour out to my local AMC only to be turned away, when I just wanted to watch the new Sonic movie. Brought my sister who was under 18, and the lady at the ticket stand said we couldnt bring her in because none of us were at least 21, because of the 9 pm curfew rule.Dumbest rule ever, making this trip a wast of time and gas money.Moral of the story: Dont waist your time here past 9pm if you want to bring your younger siblings to see a KIDS movie.

I enjoy this theatre and the location, but I will definitely say they’re a little behind on the technology. First theatre I’ve been to in a while without reclining seats. Still! Good/clean theatre.

Theater was clean, staff was friendly and personable, seats were more comfortable than other theaters I have been at. Concession area was clean and food was delicious. Only gripe is that of the four or so automated ticket kiosks, none of them were working, and the outside box office was closed as well. Causing congestion at the entrance and stress on one person for all ticket sales. Im not taking off a star for this because sometimes this stuff happens, and the staff handled it well. Would happily watch movies here again.

SLOW customer service at food vending area.

Two tickets on Saturday night equals $35 or so. Its a nice enough theater but not worth that much. I realize these are normal prices for metropolises, but this is just Brandon

Decent theater. Its a little out dated and the sound quality isnt the best in some theaters, but Ive usually had a good experience here. Weekends are very crowded so plan ahead.

Only one theatre Ive been in has recliners and the place looks due for a remodel, but the employees here are nice and do a good job. I also have had to purchase my tickets from the front desk most times because the kiosks always seem to be down.

I absolutely love going to this theater! It has the most updated movies. The place is clean, the food is excellent and the seating is wonderful! Would definitely recommend this AMC!!!!

Dated and very poor excuse for a recliner chair. Basically a hard rocking chair that squeeks every time you moves! The movie I saw was great despite my dislike of the theater.

Dolby Cinema is absolutely stunning, and my main reason for coming here. Some of the Digital theaters could use improvements/renovations. This location tends to be under staffed at times which causes long and slow lines, but everyone has been friendly so far. All in all a good theater that could improve a couple of areas.

Ive grown up going to this theatre. I love it. Its cozy, clean and staff are always friendly. Also benefiting from the Stubs Member perks - exclusive lines, credit towards movies and concessions as well as $5 Movies every Tuesday - $15 for the year. Just cant beat it! It pays for itself. Will always recommend trying this theatre if youve never been. You may end up falling in love with it like I did.

Came to watch a family movie got in here and our seats had garbage from the ppl from before! Definitely my last time here especially with all the viruses and health warnings going around. So nasty horrible I thought NY was bad nopeeee This is DISGUSTING!

Its a great theater, one of the oldest around. I give it 4 out of 5 because the seats are just really uncomfortable compared to so many others around lately.

Compared to the new theatres.....AMC should be going out of business. The other 2 theatres in the area give more room, more times, cheaper tickets, better food options oh and better parking!! AMC ya need to step it up and get with the new. I haven’t been back in years.

Very fancy. Comfy reclining seats, a snack bar, a bar, and a sushi bar all to choose from to enjoy while watching your movie. Staff is fast and efficient, and the cleanliness was on point!

The theater itself is average(3 stars.) But it services an area with limited options for movies, and has the latest movies available when they come out so there is that.The bar is nice, and can really take the edge off being annoyed at the sticky floors in every other theater and overpricing of the concession food.Ive never had any issue with any of the staff, though none of them have been memorable or more than adequate either.They do have some really comfortable front row recliner seats. Although it really kind of messes up the view of the screen with the positioning of them.One really positive thing about this place is the Mens Restroom is almost always very clean when I enter.This is one of those places you go for the movie, enjoy the movie, and dont really think about much else.

Nice theater that sells way over priced snacks. $16+ for a large soda and a big pop corn is insane. Theater was clean and seats were comfy.

The theater was fine, less costly for not having reclining seats and Id rather save money than recline, but I was irritated that the concession workers kept serving only people from the rewards line. As soon as the only rewards customer in line was called up to the registers, another would get in line and would automatically be next. This happened several times and the regular line grew to at least ten customers but the concession workers wouldnt even go back and forth between the lines. I dont care to wait 30 minutes in line for popcorn, so I wont be returning.

Pretty good movie theater. They are like most AMCs and the closest to us so we go here. I really do wish they would install recliner seating like we see in some more modern AMC movie theaters.

I forgot how much I loved this theater. It is spacious well equipped theater you cant go wrong. There are plenty of restrooms in every corner which I really do like about this theater because if you leave the theater for a quick second to use a restroom you wont be far from getting back to watch your movie.

The last three times (same month) I visited they had only 1 person working the ticket booth who was expected to work both the reward line and the regular line. On one these times I literally waited 36 minutes. So I decided to use the kiosk, only to find out that not one of them was working. I then went inside to try to purchase the tickets, I was told that I had to stand outside to purchase the tickets or I could purchase them online. I tried to purchase them online. Wasnt working. I drove myself to Xscape in Riverview oh, what an experience. Like night and day. A couple of dollars more, worth it, my peace of mind is worth it.

This is a very classy theater. It has plenty of food and even serve hard alcohol! Upper class, truly five stars. (Dallas)

No longer the shining gem it was back in the day but its still perfectly servicible and reserved seating makes it my go to theater for all major releases.

Always a good experience here. Clean facilities and theaters. Good food and drink. Prices are look. A list and premier is where the value is at. Its our definite preference for theater in the area.

We had an amazing time here. Went to see John Wick. The location was great, impeccable service, prices not bad. Ps. They have different ticket rates for various time frames. Seating inside the theater was adequate. They only have reclined seats in the extreme front but otherwise, it wasn’t bad. Overall, a good experience. Time and money well spent.

I moved to Brandon Area in Oct. 2019. I love the area minus one thing, Brandon AMC theater. Coming from Citrus park AMC Vetrans 24, I was shocked when I first entered.You can smell the carpet when you walk in the door. The place is run down, small and uncomfortable. There are no reclining seats. Managment is complacent I can tell. They had no interest in helping me resolve a minor issues or that I was having a bad experience.

What a wonderful movie, Tom Hanks ad mr Rogers. Everyone should see it. Seats in theater very comfortable and it wasnt freezing cold

The theater has decided to have a separate line for some kind of club members. It results in nobody wanting to wait in the normal line to buy anything. They have a singular person working concessions on the night of a premier. We’ve literally been standing in a five person line for 30 minutes. Terrible service. Always buy tickets online and ALWAYS bring your own snacks/drinks or you may miss the movie.

Thanks AMC Brandon for only having one person at the box office and the line is to the parking lot. Did it ever occur to you that the line is long because we are here to see a movie that starts at a particular time? We arrive 20mins early to make sure we have plenty of to get tickets and see a few previews. Thanks for taking my money and making miss part of my movie.

Very friendly, helpful ticket sales and concession counter staff. Website said movie was 3D, but 3D was not available. Seats were not as comfy as newer theaters.

Spent over $40 tonight for my fiance and i to watch Jumanji 2 and split a large popcorn and coke. The experience in theatre 16 was less than enjoyable and was certainly a rip off. The bass from the next theatre was overwhelming enough to disract tou from the movie. I has to leave the movie 3 times to let them know. 1 manager told me we coukd have 2 vouchers to come back for another movie when i went the ticket box to get the vouchers another manager (in his 50s/60s, glasses, and dark hair) was very rude, did not apologize for anything and then tried to give me a free coke and popcorn. I couldnt believe i paid over $40 for this bad and regretful experience. I gave 2 stars because the seats were comfortable. Based on this experience with manager and theatre 16, I would not recommend AMC of Brandon.

They needed more help. All the cost service employees were slow. From greeting tickets to getting our treats. Good thing it wasnt a busy time of day. Also we saw Lion King (which was awesome). And we could actually hear the movie next to us during the quiet parts of our movie. And of course a bad review wouldnt be complete without complaining abbot the price of popcorn, a Slurpee, and gummy bears for $20.00. Not even a large popcorn.

I love AMC theatres, i think the A- list subscription is the best thing since sliced bread! However my joyous experience was thrown off multiple times when i would approach the front for concessions. Liz, an attendant for AMC, was rude from beginning to end and didnt bother to scan my A-list barcode when i purchased candy for my popcorn and when i asked her she said i shouldve said something and literally said too bad, i dont know what to tell you when i said i wanted to have the points id get for my purchase as well as the discount. Whats the point in paying you a monthly fee when rude associates like Liz dont care to honor it. I will not be back.

The Pretzels were amazing. The hot dog I ate was poorly made. I guess the chairs dont need to be improved because I would fall sleep on a bad movie.

Theater itself was clean, the screen was big and the theater had a smaller more intimate feel but the chairs were very uncomfortable. They were almost a 90 degree angle, and just not comfortable for a longer period of time. We went to a later showing and found that one of the bathrooms was unusable it was so filthy.

Outdated interior and decent screens. I wish this theater could get an overhaul because its closer to my home and they hold the fathom events which I love to go to. Unfortunately there are other theaters nearby that are more comfortable and have better screens and sound. If they could ever update their screens and their chairs they could easily hold their own against the rest.

The AMC in Brandon is under poor management. The line for concessions was over 35 minutes long and there were only two employees ringing people up on a Saturday night. After waiting on line when we got to our seat, my chair was stuck in the full recline position, making it difficult to sit down with food and a drink and unchangeable. Lastly, the app is poorly designed and hardly ever works if you want to pick up an order, I will visit a different location next Time.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Colleen at the drink counter served 3 other guests before me, which is fine usually if it’s busy, but I got a racy vibe when she made eye contact then continued to serve the white customers that came after me. I continued to be patient. I ordered my drink and went into my movie.I finished my drink and went back to the drink counter. When I gave Colleen my order, she explained that she couldn’t sale me a different drink order, but she could sell me the same drink I ordered earlier in the evening. Do they think I’m handing out free drinks in the lobby? WHAT?! I’m only allowed to order the same drink at AMC 20 in Brandon, FL?I requested a manager. The two whispered together a min before I could even join the conversation. The manager (Rachel) then proceeded to say the EXACT SAME THING as Colleen. I was refused service. I’ve spent 1000s of dollars at this theater. Yes, we see many movies lol. We all know concession stand prices and I usually go to the movies hungry.NOT ONE MORE PENNY!!I understand the fight against under age drinking but I’m 33 with valid ID. Give me a break.

I had a great time! We went to see Endgame and it was awesome! The theater was nice, clean and the temperature in the theater was perfect. I am a Stubs member so I got free refill on my popcorn and the tickets are discounted on Tuesdays so thats pretty cool.

Attempted to see a movie, only playing once in Tampa only at this location. Computers at concession were down....cash only. Projector didnt work....delayed hour. Now wondering if we will ever see the movie. Concession staff was nice though.

Dirty, long lines, old, odd limited parking. This theatre needs an upgrade big time. The sound & movie was okay. For it to be an IMAX theatre the audio was not as sharp as im used to but everything else was horrible. The concession line was ridiculous. They needed a larger crew as its a holiday weekend and it was packed so that indicates poor mgmt in my book. I come from a city where movie tix are $6-$12 but the theatres are gorgeous & clean. The ticket was $16 for this old and filthy theatre with long lines & wait times. Sticky floors, some employees were just standing around as we walked through when they should have been helping concession because again that crew was scrambling, I felt bad for them. Ill never go there again, thats for sure.

Love that they now require minors to be accompanied by adults. This theater use to be a hotspot for teenagers, thankfully not anymore. They have police officers guarding, added a small bar. Only thing is last time I went to see lion king, it was late and there was so much trash around and spilled popcorn and no one around to clean it up.

Theater seats have been replaced with semi reclining leather. Very comfortable.

The experience was great although one of the employees were kinda rude apart from that I had an all around great time there i went to go see frozen 2 and had a great experience of seeing the movie here Ill be coming back soon.

This theater’s not bad. It’s our local one and they do $5 Tuesday shows, which we like to capitalize on sometimes. The seats are fairly comfy and staff is pretty nice. Several theater rooms so they usually have a good lineup of movies and showtimes. The kiosks have always been quick and easy to use. We don’t usually reserve tickets online, but that’s an option.

I love being able to pick your seat. The theater is always clean and they have a fully stocked concessions. Prices are a little steep but that’s movie theaters in general. I highly recommend matinee as this will save you a bit of money.

Im a premiere rewards member. So my review may be a little different as its coming from that point of view. You do pay extra for it but its worth it. I purchase my tickets in the app and they are the same price as going to the counter. You also get priority line for purchasing concession stand items.This location: Its fairly neat and clean for theost part. There seems to be a lot of teenagers hanging around. It may just be the days that I go which are typically weekends. This location offers alcohol and specialty popcorn which is popcorn mixed with Cheetos and caramel corn. Its neat and if youre a premiere member you get a discount as well. For the most part its a nice location.

We had an 8 o’clock showing of Jumanji. We got there at 8 o’clock they had shut down concession!!!!! I’m sorry in every theater I’ve ever been in in the entire country all over… Concession is open till at least 10. Having worked in the food industry 6+ years...I understand you need to get everything cleaned and you want to go home. But if I show up at 8 o’clock for a movie I want some popcorn and a drink!! Whoever the manager is of this place needs to rethink their strategy for accumulating business. If you want happy customers to return and pay your gigantic prices for IMAX you should leave concession open till at least 930 or 10 o’clock. I know it doesn’t take that long to clean the popcorn machine and clean all the drink things and clean everything else and go home. Also me and my seven-year-old daughter went to the restroom, there was no soap and no hand sanitizer that’s gross. I will not be coming back to the theater!!!!

AMC really is dated and on a Friday night they have four employees to accommodate long lines. There really is no comparison to the new theaters in the area. The website wouldnt allow us to purchase tickets and the automated ticket machine is broken. They wont last unless they make drastic improvements.

This theater is better for large groups of teenagers. Not so much for couples or families looking to actually watch a movie.

Terrible experience, never seen so many rude patrons in theater. Saw 11:35 Judy movie. People talking out loud during movie, 7 phones ringing, one lady in second row texted with bright screen through whole movie, another a couple seats from her also held hers up that shadowed the movie screen.

It was a great night End Game in theatres now. What a great night I really cant complain smooth transition. We bought our tickets in advance. The lines were not long if any. The longest line was concession. Which honestly wasnt bad at all considering open night. It was packed but very organize. However I do think amc need to come down on their concession prices. $36.00 for 3 small drinks, nacho and small popcorn...thats ridiculous
