Astro Skate of Bradenton is a well maintained Roller Rink with wooden floors. I suggest an adult night 18 and over, after Saturday night family night. 9:30PM to12:00 Midnight would be a perfect time slot for adults. Over all it was a good experience.

So fun. Such sore legs. Havent been on a pair of skates in 39 years but didnt fall!!!place is sorta small but a blast and as far as I know the only one in our area. great place to relive some memories

We love Astro Skate. Unfortunately now if you have your lessons for the kids on Saturday at 9-10 AM, they do not allow you to continue skating just after. They reserve 10-12 for private parties. We used to make it routine for the kids to be there from 9-11 AM. Would love to see it change back to open skate along with the private parties from 10-12.

Another gr3at way to cool down and get some great exercise...love the helpers for the first time skaters!!

The place itself was great and it had good music, but there were only 3 people wearing masks not including myself. None of the staff were wearing masks and it seemed like no precautions were taken. We definitely wont be going back there since it seems they dont care about the safety of their customers. Masks should be mandatory especially with Florida having such high case numbers.

Bought a pair of skates, the woman I bought them from proceeded to try and break my skate wheels because she didnt know what she was doing.

Came up here on wensday and they played some ok music but they really need 2 play more music that you can actually skate to your staff is pretty nice but the only thing I did not like was that your rink graud was not paying attention he was busy talking to people instead of doing his job and you had people skating in the wrong direction you really need to have a rank graud that does there job what if someone gets hurt and he not paying attention so I will not be coming back here for awhile I will be going to the astro skate in Brandon

I attended a birthday party there and had a blast. Good music for both older and younger audiences...loved how they switched it up. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely will go there more often

The managers are worse than the kids that run around there. Last time I went one of the managers ( Selena ) yelling and cussing at a grown adult, also came up to my family and I several times claiming we did not pay until we finally find the receipt to show her. I’ve seen a couple women workers in the back playing around while i was in line to order with a napkin and a roach inside of it. Another worker or manager I believe ( Dreya ) is disrespectful too, sitting down talking about the adults using racial remarks.Awful place to go to.

I enjoyed the skating ring and so did my five grandchildren the only thing I didnt like was everyone was supposed to be wearing a mask and practicing social distancing due to the coronavirus and that wasnt being done the only ones with the mask for about three other people besides my family

I swear it looks the same as it did when I was a kid! Good times for a fair price. The murals are pretty cool and the music was all around good for kids and everyone. The staff was helpful and we all had a good time.

Just an FYI for customers of the Bradenton location....Here at Astro Skate now Saturday, Sept 6 at 6:32. Paid for my kids to Skate only to find out that in less than two hours we have to pay again. Please find out if your double paying before going in.

Had our son’s birthday party here and they had a wonderful time. Our assigned party host and the manager were both very attentive and they made everything go so smoothly. The music was great and it was an all around good time.

Cute little skate rink. A handful of arcade games. Kind of in a weird location. You wouldnt know if was there unless you planned on being there. We went for a birthday party and didnt know it even existed. Aside from it being slightly outdated (which I feel like most places like this are because they are a dying breed), it was a great time for the kids. We will be coming back for skating in the near future.

I love the dj, and the staff they are very nice. I love to seat there and enjoy the music.

My dad, friends, and I come here all the time. I have had my birthday here for many years in a row. The skating floor is smooth and easy to skate on. The atmosphere is clean, fun, and the food is amazing. Definitely recommend the pizza and churros:)

Nice little skating rink. Only downside was there are no walls around the rink for smaller kids and new skaters to use to learn. They have little walker things to use but the kids still feel a million times. Place was a little dirty and had ants crawling on the wall in the bathroom. Not like a few ants, more like an army of ants. The kids had fun so wed definitely go back.

Not a huge rink as the ones out of state but very nice. And wasnt too crowded when the family & I went.

Loved watching the Roller Derby match! An old school skating rink with a new generation vibe. Great for kids parties or watching some thunderous hits in Derby matches.

Over the past few months I have gone to Astro Skate of Bradenton multiple times. I had a blast also a fun way to get some exercise. They keep the temperature low so even if your out of shape & sweat your butt off it will be in comfort :) As a child I loved the skating rink & as a grown up would love to go more but unfortunately my kid just isnt into skating. Luckily her school planned a field trip to Astro so I was able to seize the moment since my child still didnt know how to skate due to dodging it over the years. Well first time I had a blast used the regular Roller Skate rentals. After trying both the regular roller skates on a visit and the roller blades on another visit if your going to rent I recommend sticking withe the Roller Skates. Although as a child I always preferred roller blades. Reason being at least for me is I think roller blades are more personal. All my life I have been a person that as long as the tennis shoe fits and arent ugly I will wear them. Although Im sure theres some exceptions, tennis shoes usually just need some breaking in. Reason I bring this up is trying the blades at Astro was my first time renting roller blades. Still had fun with them but ended up with blisters. First they used laces and I just couldnt get them tight enough to balance properly. Maybe its because I havent roller bladed in over a decade but I also always remember having to try on multiple pairs of blades before finding a good fit when buying. Also found it weird being only 33 but still pass for late 20s all day and on a Friday night I found myself at times looking like the oldest one on the rink. Saw many parents even young ones sitting it out. Which unless they are disabled in someway thats prevents them from being able to skate I will never understand. Maybe Im jealous because they have children who enjoy skating. Anyways I recommend no matter the age especially if you have kids get off the phones and go skating!

We loved coming on Saturdays to skate with our kids after the group lessons but we are very disappointed with recent change to close the open skating until noon. We won’t be coming as much anymore

Fun time, nice and clean. Games were mostly broke and eating quarters, but the staff gladly refunded the lost change.

Had a overnight skate, ended up falling asleep! It was amazing and well run! The DJ had back to back games that kept everyone entertained! It was kinda hard to get help when you fell though

One of the announcement ladies, had a green shirt at the time short hair, white, Hispanic looking kicked out my friend and I over turning in a phone that was lost. We spent $40 to skate and 2 hours in we got kicked out. The women said Get out of my building and get her out of my building. I do not care if she is the Manager, but I spent $40 to have fun. Not be kicked out.

Very nice place. Pizza was really good and the service was very attentive. It needs a little bit of an update, but the place is nice and clean.

It has gone downhill after they took over. I remember when this skating rink was called Florida Wheels and they kept the place looking great. They need to reinvest in the floors, skates and design of the interior.

Been a minute since we last had a chance to come out here but this place holds some fond memories for me from my own childhood when it was Florida Wheels and then with our son as Florida Wheels and now Astro Skate.

The pricing for a Sunday night was pretty good. Also impressed with the food and the quality of service overall. Even though the entire establishment is ran by teenagers I still felt like they did a pretty outstanding job.

Was there for a late night special event as abus driver for a group and all the employees were so great and also so nice to me and my group keep up the good work and thanks for the hospitality.jeff

Why Cant People put a NO STAR Rating?This Astro Skate is a dump and the manager named Selina is a complete disgrace and a Dishonest hurtful person. We just went and had my wife get knocked down and hurt by a couple of teenage skaters where one was skating in Reverse and had been already instructed to not do that. She apologized and the other two girls seemed pretty concerned about my wife who layed out on the floor in pain until I could get to her and get her up off the floor and back to sit at a table.The Manager named Selina came to our table and said she was going to fill out an accident report. She asked my wife many personal and private questions and told her to sign the next to her own name. I said to Selena that wed like a copy of it and she childishly grabbed the paper from me and said Nope, Not happening. I said ok if you wont give us the paperwork youre filling out then I said let me take a picture of it then and she pushed me away. She had one on a clipboard and one other where she made mistakes on and that paper she grabbed and crushed it all up in her hands smiling and pulling away as she a then tried grabbing the clipboard. My wife still had the clipboard and she said, no I need a copy myself to where Selina said, nope, Youre not getting any of it. Selina then reached over and was physically fighting with my wife and was twisting my wifes hand and arm which Ill add a picture of at the bottom of this comment.Everyone there last night stood and watched as did I in disbeliefSelina tried dragging my wife who was holding onto the clipboard off of the table and onto the Ground and ripped it from my wifes hands and took off running to her office. My wife headed towards the office to talk to her or someone about what happenedShe again tried to tell Selina that she wanted a copy of the paper.This was repeatedly asked for because Selena wrote down all of our personal private information and signed her name as well and had told my wife to sign below it as it just stated that there was an incident that occurred.But ripping that paper from her hands as soon as it was signed and as we both asked for a copy was not right as the rest of the form and area for my wife to describe exactly what happened was completely EMPTY. So she never filled out any of that important area and As soon as my wife signed as requested by The Manager Selina, that woman wanted it before anything could be written on it.This entire situation and the actions Selina did to my wife was like nothing Id ever seen in all of my years as she Physically struggled with my already injured and shocked wife. Selina could care less about my wife and her injuries both sustained by getting knocked down AND what she did in grabbing and twisting my wifes hand and wrist which caused more injuries to her.My wife came back in tears from everything that occurred and with her own injuries from being knocked down on the floor and Selinas physical altercation at our table. I went up to let any of them at the front desk that I wanted the copy but Selina went into the office and hid in there yelling out. Youre not getting it!I told another employee that they didnt even get any time for my wife and son to even enjoy skating and asked for a refund due to it. Selina yelled from her office to thatemployee, Tell Him NO! And she continued running her mouth behind the closed door. As I was walking away from the office I told an employee that what I needed to do was call the police as I got my family together and we left trying to determine if we should call the police, go to the Hospital or wait. Wed love to have called the police but with so many negative police issues in this country we figured that theyre not going to do anything about it anyway so the best thing to do is to let the public know what happened and recommend them to stay away from that place. Are there any other people with any altercations or incidences from this place?

Pretty good for the only skating rink left in town. Ive never seen it super busy. Nothing fancy. Decent amount of seating. It appears to always be staffed by very young people, Ive never seen an adult working there. Never had an issue with service though. Skate rentals and training walkers available.

We had a great time! There were a lot of people there and everyone was skating or trying to skate like myself lol. And the cost was Absolutely economical! 5 stars to them!!!

I came for my nieces birthday party (12/8/18 12:30pm) and was very disappointed in the staff. Mainly the 2 young girls running the parties. First, one of the arcade games ate my son and husbands money but did not allow them to play. My husband went to let them know and the young lady he spoke with did not even say a word and turned and walk away from him. My husband said excuse me and she turned around with an attitude and said “what? It’s not my problem.” Second, the girl running my nieces party was handing out goodie bags when she ran out and looked at my son (9 years old) and said “you don’t get one” and walked away. As she’s walking away I said I think you forgot one. In the rudest manner ever she told me that the party only included 10 and she handed out 10 if he wanted one I would have to pay for it. As we are talking about it trying to work it out, I’m mid sentence she walks away from me as if I am not speaking. She finally comes back thrust a bag in my hands and says here before storming off.My son had a blast skating today and we were making plans to bring him back as well as have his birthday party here. But after this experience we will not be back to this location. While most of the staff was great these 2 were not and ruined the party not only for me but my son.

I learned how to skate so quick

Make sure you bring your own skates. Astro skate doesn’t put ANY money into maintaining their skates so that they are safe. I had to get a refund and leave last time I was here because every single pair of skates I tried on were missing insoles, (your foot went right on metal) falling apart, laces cut and too short to tie, and crooked/wobbley wheels which made it impossible to even skate safely. After I exchanged a few times the girl behind the desk was like “they’re all like that”. Now I didn’t expect them to be perfect but there was not one single pair of skates in even a fair condition?? Come on. Everybody on the rink floor were constantly tripping/falling from the rental skates being unsafe. Completely unacceptable! Put some money into fixing/replacing your skates if you’re going to charge to rent them. Also, we went during the day there were lots of young children and the DJ was playing gangster rap the whole time without bleeping out the swear words. So the short time we were there my young daughter got to hear music about popping pills and other horrific music. I understand tasteful rap hits with clean lyrics but was NOT the case. Unless you make some serious changes to make this a safe environment and kid friendly like it should be, because it certainly has the potential to be- we won’t be back and tell everyone how this place operates.

Astro is a great friendly place. Ive been going their since I was 2 and now I am at the speed team there. Everyone is so helpful. Ive had birthdays,Halloween, mostly everywhere that is thrown.I love skating it is a pleasure to have the rink it is like home to me

I was looking for a nearby skate place as I recently moved from out of state. While the building was nice and the staff was great, the skating was chaos. The staff did not enforce any rules they mentioned (which caused mass chaos when 200 elementary aged children are skating). They seemed like they could have used some extra help. It seems like it could be a very family friendly place, but going by yourself or with a friend may not be the best experience.

Negatives: the music is SOOOOO loud. We had three kids with us and each went through a couple pairs of skates before getting some with full laces. Its not good for your ankles to only lace the skates part way up but all of the laces were frayed and super short so you couldnt do the last three eyelets. Also there is nothing to hold on to on the skate floor. It is completely open on one side, there are seats on the other, and both of the short sides have these little carpet ledges you can walk on, so for unsteady skaters there is no side to stay close to.Positives: good prices, relatively clean, fun for kids who are good skaters.

I had alot of fun but I dont recommend going on a rainy day like I did. The buildings roof leaks & the rain was leaking onto the skating rink floor which they put trash cans out on the skating rink floors which were only causing other people to fall bcuz the trash cans were in the way & the floors were wet as well when u tried to skate it was an unpleasant experience trying to enjoy the one thing I love doing the most other than that I had fun. The building needs alot of work done to make it rain proof it was raining in different spots of building inside it needs to be inspected by code enforcement.

Great music, awesome rink floor clean and free of hazards. Wonderful for children and also adults who need a date night away from the norm. My fiance have been twice and have enjoyed our time drifting around the rink.

Great place for birthdays. The kids and adults have fun skating and enjoying the music. The staff played games for the children, giving variety to the party including a race in an inflatable. However, they dont have enough pvc training aids for people in one party let alone when they have a couple parties at the same time plus other skaters. You have to keep an eye on the aid while your child is not skating, otherwise some else will suddenly take it.

This is a solid roller rink and a great option for warm days since its air conditioned and a good wholesome activity for kids of many ages.The staff is very nice and helpful. The music selection is solid. The setup is solid for the most part.There is a section of the roller rink floor thats a little damaged. Not a big deal because they have a bounce house set up there, but it gets a little bumpy and makes the floor a little less circular.Sometimes there are older kids who go a little fast, but the staff is pretty good about showing them down a bit. They also have tools and staff for helping the little ones learn to skate.

My son had a good time but when it came to renting skates for my two teen daughters and myself we had a hard time. The young girl was especially rude and didnt fix the laces on the skates my daughter rented - instead she got her a size smaller and handed me the broken ones. We played musical skates for most of the time so if you have your own skates this place is alright. The rink was small, but the DJ was great! Cute dance competition!

My friend son didnt get his shoes back after he went to return the skates she called complained they where rude to her didnt refund her her money for the shoes only want to give her $40 for $150 pair of shoes their worker gave to someone else...... N they dont have any shoe policies around the building nor outside but she Andrea the manager States its n the lawyers contract doesnt sound right it suppose to be on site so people can see I think that was very messed up so unprofessional

My daughter just had a birthday party there last night and I have to say the girls at Astro Skate did a **FANTASTIC** job. The manager was super attentive, our hostess was on top of things, and the food was great! Needless to say the kids had an AMAZING time, and not only I will be booking again but several of the parents were just as happy and have mentioned they want their kids b-day party there. Weve been going to Astro Skate for almost three years now and we have never had any issues.

We were there for a friends little girls birthday party and had a awesome time. They were on top of everything. Drinks food decorations, anything you needed they would get and take care of. I am definitely having my childrens birthday parties there.

Wed night is skating to the oldies. 1990. Lol great staff
