Absolutely beautiful place. It was beyond peaceful! Seen a hawk, a turtle, baby bunnies and even saw a snake! It was perfect nice little post about what happened back in the day. My SO and my first time coming we loved it! We will be back but taking our moms lol! Gorgeous place with lots of history :)

Great walking trails with scenic views of the Manatee River where it empties into the Gulf. A lot of history on Spanish settlers and the Seminole Indians.

Visit the park for its historical significance. Park rangers provide lectures until end of April. There is a nature trail that winds through the park along waters edge...not strenuous.
