I am giving big sky archery a 1 star review because of the overall experience was very unpleasant. As newbies to the sport the biggest thrill you have is when you can hit the bullseye. But with substandard bows that did not have any sites on them. All the other customers who walked in with bows had sites on them. As potential customers who might buy a bow you would probably like to test a bow as close as to what you could potentially buy. The other thing that made this experience unpleasant is the way we were treated when we walked into the door. We were treated as nuances that we were there, not to buy anything so it just didnt matter to the employees that we were there. They didnt even give us all the proper equipment to help us succeed and have fun. Then when we went to go check out after our session and they charged us twenty five dollars per person when we asked them how much it would be they said fifteen. There was nowhere in the shop that told us the pricing for using the range. Probably will not be back unless changes are made.

Brand new to the sport and Jake absolutely gave me some of the best customer service. Was very patient with me and took a lot of time from his day to educate me about the bow and all the inner workings of the components. Went to the range and Jake was extremely informative, polite and patient. The whole staff was extremely helpful. Lifetime customer.

Ive been hunting and fishing for decades and Ive never received better service than what I received from Brett M at Big Sky Archery. I hadnt shot a bow for a very long time. Brett gave me tons of tips and had an answer to every question I asked. I never felt pressured to buy and I never felt like I was being up sold.

Went into this shop with my husband. We were looking to get him into a full setup, as he was completely new to archery. At first, I thought the service was going very well as the gentleman assisting us was quite informative. However, the man helping my husband get ready to try a bow out for the first time started making some sideways comments. Im in no way a sensitive person, but as I was also confused when he threw a release at my husband and expected him to figure it out, he asked me if I would always be there to help him. My husband said, Yeah, she probably will be. At this point as I no longer felt welcome or interested in looking at a bow of my own, I waited outside. I looked at my bank account the next day, and instead of putting the amount agreed upon towards a layaway, they charged my account with the ENTIRE cost of the bow. When I took time out of my workday to try to clear up the discrepancy, an older gentleman helped me, and was extremely concerned and polite. He figured it out immediately for us, which is why I have rated more than one star. My husband was not feeling very satisfied with the transaction, and when he went in a few weeks later to try to take off the small remaining balance of the bow and get a refund, he was told by the original salesman that that wasnt possible as bow season was almost over, and it was off the display rack too long. When he explained to us the rules and stipulations of layaway, he told us it could only remain on layaway for 3 months, and if it wasnt paid for in full by that time, it would return to the display rack. This was less than 2 months off the rack and almost completely paid off. Im appalled at how this co-owner chose to represent his company. We wont be back.

Bill, Gabe and the whole staff are a perfect example of making you feel comfortable in an area of hunting where a lot of strong opinions about equipment, philosophy, and ego could make one feel intimidated. I am pretty new to archery and they have been very kind and educational in my limited knowledge of the sport. The environment that is created at Big Sky Archery is one of building good relationships that will keep you wanting to come back again and again.

Best stocked shop in Montana that I am aware of, and the variety is excellent. Many top shelf bows, several models and even Left Handers can find a bow! Owner is super smart, and knows his stuff, regardless of the bow brand you have, you can trust Bill to get it right for you.

Highly recommend! BSA made a couple mistakes on some work done to my husbands bow in which he didnt notice until he got home. He brought it back and they made everything right, no questions asked. Every business makes mistakes, its what they do to correct them that sets people apart. These guys went above and beyond to provide a great service with great integrity! Definitely recommend them!

I wanted to become more self sufficient, so that meant learning to shoot something. I am a woman by the way, Well, i did some looking into it, but was a true beginner in every sense of the word. I walked in looking at the bows they had, and the man who was working asked me a few questions, picked up a bow, and said lets go shoot. He got me all set up and was so friendly. A lot of times i got pushed to the side from other stores because i was a woman, but not here! They are so helpful and so nice! they have places to shoot, and have competitions! This is how every hunting/sporting place should treat people who want to enter into their world! whenever i have questions they are more then happy to help me out. I cant say enough good things about them!

Walked in today with a bow with stickers still attached, looking for help. Chad had it tuned within minutes and was kind enough to run me through some fundamentals and had me on target @ 20yards in 30 minutes. He invited me to come back anytime for which I certainly will. Thanks again!

I had a fairly major bow failure (completely my fault) during an antelope hunt which rendered my bow useless. I raced back into town to Big Sky Archery not expecting a quick fix due to the issues, but the guys there knocked it out of the park. They checked my bow over, smoothed out burrs on the lower cam where I had nailed a rock, replaced the string and cables, installed my peep and D-loop, and had me back out hunting in about an hour. They were fast and efficient, but nothing was rushed or sloppy – every knot and adjustment was spot on and precise. I test shot it to see where it was hitting, and with a quick sight elevation adjustment I was back on the bullseye again and out the door. I actually made it back out to hunt antelope again that same day.The staff at Big Sky Archery are true experts, not just outdoor store employees. They hunt and shoot the gear they sell and service. With an elk hunt two weeks away, I am now confident with my bow, and have a new string/cable to head into the season with.Hands down the best archery shop in the valley, and some of the best customer service and follow through of any business around.

The staff is knowledgable. Turnaround time is typically as promised. I wish they had a larger selection of recurve options, but archery leans to compound these days anyhow. They have 10x the stock of any other brick and mortar in the valley, and the pricing is good enough to justify coming in over ordering online. The range is in good shape. They are always willing to lend a hand or help you a bit with your technique. They are great for groups, and between punch cards and leagues, there is something for everyone. Try the video/3d shooting if you get the chance! It is so much fun!

Super helpful, great service. I am a total novice and basically know nothing about archery, and they took the time to help explain to me in detail a lot about my bow and how I should get started. Very reasonable prices as well. You can tell they love what they do there and are happy to talk to you and help you. Also they have a pretty sweet gallery of trophy mounts in the shop!I had been to a different Bozeman archery shop in the past and had the exact opposite experience, they were not helpful and had rude and condescending attitudes (what a great way to encourage someone to get involved in the sport! Not.) I will definitely be going back to BSA for all my future archery needs!

Greatest shop I have been in! My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience At Extreme performance archery and had the best experience here! The staff are great, extremely helpful, and polite. They put new strings and tuned my older Mathews bow in the time it took to sell and setup my Girlfriend in a new bowtech ! The no pressure atmosphere and genuine passion for the sport shows thru. These guys really know what is going on and how to treat customers! Their range is larger and better by far also. Save yourself the hassle and go there you wont be disappointed !

Amazingly friendly and informative. I was a visting bowhunter from out-of-town asking lots of questions about relocating to the area. Usually folks are very protective of local beta, but Austin and Chad were super forthcoming with valuable information. Coolest bow shop Ive visited. Ill make a point of stopping by whenever Im in the area.

On my first visit to the store per the recommendation of a friend, needless to say I was not impressed. I was not greeted when I entered the store and I walked around for 30 minutes browsing. I was there to buy a release and tips and NOT ONE PERSON offered assistance. I found a release I wanted to purchase but when I brought it to the register I waited for about 4/5 minutes and again NO ONE HELPED me. I put the items back and walked out and went elsewhere.
