We had to move our reservation date due to unforeseen circumstances. Jeryn was super helpful and responsive in moving our reservation! He was very understanding and compassionate with our situation. We really appreciate all his help! We will be staying in the home next weekend and looking forward to it!

A very quaint and rustic cabin on the Barren River in rural Kentucky, just nine miles northwest of Bowling Green.The location is perfect for a complete get away from modern Life, with no internet and almost no cell service, its as detached from modern hustle and bustle one might want.The cabin is reasonably equipped with flat screen TV and PS3, so DVD/Blu-ray and your own gaming as entertainment, backed up by the local (free) TV channels.The single 30x15 ft main room serves as kitchen/diner/family room, with Keurig & microwave appliances, fridge/freezer, stove top but no oven.The other half of the cabin being a 30x8 ft bedroom/bathroom is adequate with beautiful views out on to the river 10 feet below. The apparent lack of any window coverings is offset by the simple fact that nothing but farmland overlooks the cottage from the far side of the river. The bathroom has a tub, basin, toilet and 2ftsq shower, enough to suffice without the need for overt luxury.Outside is a multi-level patio area with table, fire-pit and seating, together with steps leading down to the river for swimming and fishing, or both, with wonderful river views.Vehicle parking is taken car of by a half circle driveway each end adjoining the road a couple of feet above, and parking for 4 cars comfortably.Overall a pretty wellmaintained cabin, with beautiful views, a silence at night that the country brings with it and resulting peace.There are always cons with everything, unfortunately, and the biggy for this cabin was the septic system, or more to the point the actions required. During our stay we were informed, a couple hours before arriving, that no paper products should be flushed in the toilet. The alternative suggestion was to use bags (plastic bags) to hold the used paper products and these were then put out with the trash. Not ideal, and to townies like us, somewhat surreal bordering revulsive, as there was the obvious need that day or night, irrespective of weather, the said disposal required a trip outside with the said bags, immediately following use.Perhaps this could have been stated in the rental description, perhaps not for an obvious reason, possibly the same reason that, notwithstanding the pet friendly tag, there being no tarrif for such pets stated, again just a couple of hours prior to our arrival a text is sent stating a 10 dollar charge per dog per night is payable in cash upon departure. Needless to say, not carrying cash with us during the stay, this additional charge should be added on to the final rental fee.Had the easily fixable two cons not been there then this would obviously have garnered a five star review.

I am blown away by how accommodating the owners have been. They are responsive and will go above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay, and that’s exactly what they did for my family. The kitchen is stocked with all amenities needed for cooking—along with a dishwasher. The house is right on the river and you can sit back and enjoy nature and the panoramic view from the the master bedroom, or the deck/patio. Without hesitation 5 stars.

The riverside cabin is amazing. Theres literally a news article about it. Ive been here twice so far, its a beautiful new cabin with river access and views. The bed is in front of a wall of windows overlooking the river. Best cabin in BG. If its booked, look at the riverside cabin #2 located across the street by the same host. Its just as great, across the street from the river but its a 3 br 2 bath with brand new everything. Very nice.

We had an ideal night of resetting at the Riverside Cabin! If you want to get away and enjoy being surrounded by nature but want all modern conveniences and some luxuries, the cabin is for you. We will definitely be back to enjoy another session of being unplugged in a gorgeous, comfortable setting.

A great place to stay so you can relax and escape from the real world for awhile! Amazing scenery, beautiful cabins, and all around very enjoyable. Cabin 1 and Cabin 2 both have great views of Barren River! Not too far but not too close to town, so if you need groceries you arent far. Besides groceries, they provide everything you will need for your stay! Jeryn is an awesome guy and very helpful! I have absolutely no complaints!

We stayed at the riverside cabin 2 and it was a great family trip. The cabin is beautiful, well kept, had a great fire pit, and an even better host! Highly recommend!

The river side Cabin and surrounding landscape was an awesome getaway! The ground and interior were really well kept, its an awesome view across the water too. Jeryn was very friendly and available to questions and to help in a pinch. Very much a diamond in the woods!!

Not to mention the wildlife. The perfect place to unplug and get away from the everyday stresses of life. Wonderful place to getaway from the world - bring a good amount of groceries so you don’t have to leave! It’s nice and private at that cabin - lots of nature to explore, and things to do!I also think I could’ve stayed in the bathtub forever! They provided some bubbles, which was something I didn’t even think of bringing so I’m happy they thought of it for me!I love that place, I’m def coming back every year!Jeryn is the absolute best!!!

Visiting this cabin is an amazing experience. It provides a ton of natural elements to enjoy, as well as a beautiful river view!! The cabin itself is so peaceful & the hosts provide a great deal of amenities for your stay. Refocus, re-energize with a stay at the Riverside cabin. ️️

You know this is a magical place if you are a local from BG and this is how you get away. Falling asleep to the stars, and waking up to the calming waters and warm sunshine from the bedroom view is enough to never want to leave. Can’t wait to go back once it warms up to have a fire in the fire pit and kayak the Gasper. Don’t think twice about booking this...Riverside Cottage will NOT disappoint.

I brought my 10 year old son here so we could spend some quality time together. We played outside, made fires, cooked hot dogs and s’mores, cuddled up and watched movies, and enjoyed being together. This was a great location, we also went to Mammoth Cave and Ky Down Under. Jeryn is the best host! He was available if we needed anything and had the cabin spotless when we got there. We had so much fun just watching the river. I will be back, but next time will be with the hubby for a weekend to relax. Loved it here!!

This is no ordinary home. Just spending one day at this beautiful piece of property will have you feeling like a Bald Eagle soaring above the clouds. When I left in my 69 Camero I could feel the wholesomeness this house fulfilled me with. I felt rejuvenated and relaxed thanks to the easiness of my transaction with the owner. I would recommend this place to anyone for a great stay!

What a great get away , In such a close proximity to the excitement of the area. This place is the most relaxing, back to nature, and charming place I have ever been.

The pictures are pretty, but until you are physically present, you simply cannot understand this places beauty and serenity. Highly recommend!
