Hobson Grove is located in the city where my parents lived the longest and where I went to high school and university. So it was fitting that we hold a small family reunion at Riverview At Hobson Grover a few years back. During that time, there were some enactments of life back in when Riverview Mansion was in its heyday. The highlight was the appearance of a man who impersonated MarK Twain, and performed some excerpts of his literary pieces.

Beautiful Historic Home situated along the Barren River. Gorgeous scenery and such tranquility here. I love walking in the wooded area behind the home and a few Greenway trails are near as well. The owners put on many neat events such as tours and guest speakers. A local piece of history that should be cherished by all! Go see it!

Just returned from Christmas at Riverview at Hobson Grove. What a magnificent production they put on! One is truly transported back through time and space to an authentic Victorian Christmas! The use of real candles as a primary means of illumination and the violin music completed the experience!

We had a wonderful tea at the Riverview at Hobson Grove mansion along with an interesting tour of the house. We had booked this as a side trip as part of getting to the Corvette Museum 25th anniversary and it was will worth it. The peach ice tea was delicious as was the apple and cinnamon hot tea. My wife had the peach hot tea and that was flavorful as well. The tea sandwiches included chicken salad (outstanding), pimento cheese (tasty), and cucumber and cream cheese (delicious). There were scones with jelly and cream along with assorted desserts. To top it off, the granddaughter of the family who last owned the house was part of the serving staff which was attentive and gracious. The tour was informative and interesting and the view from the functioning cupola was beautiful. The only disappointment was that the river was no longer what it once was with steamboats plying the river due to damming and other encroachments of civilization over the years.

Very interesting tour. The docent was fascinating with her stories about the history of the home and the former residents. Well worth the time and the money. We will return in the spring when the gardens are pretty.

Beautiful place!! We took a morning tour, we were the only ones (it was early). Roma (our guide) was very knowledgeable and you could tell she loves this house. Artifacts are beautifully kept despite fires, theft, and time.

This 9-hole municipal course is slightly challenging, with a long drive on hole #6. Towards the end of the 2016 season, the greens were getting in pretty rough shape, however I played here last week (mid-April 2017) and they were in terrific shape so far this year! Very reasonable, and extremely reasonable if walking (and you want a lot of exercise!). The best part is the staff. They are always super friendly and patient when youre coming in just before dark.

Went to the candlelight Christmas tour which was free. The tour guides didnt go in depth about the house and history but just touched on how the family might have celebrated Christmas and how the rooms might have been used. It was interesting to see an old historic home at night by candlelight because thats not always available. I am excited to go back maybe in the spring to see it in theday time to appreciate the views and hear more in depth history. The guides were all very helpful and pleasant.Has some original furnishings.
